Police are searching for a Derbyshire woman who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Melissa Jones, who lives in Ilkeston, was last seen in the Lord Haddon Road area of the Erewash town on Friday, June 4.

The 41-year-old, who has connections to Long Eaton and Bramcote, in Nottinghamshire, has been described by officers as 5ft 6ins tall, pale, with shoulder-length brown hair.

When last seen, she was wearing a black jacket, a blue polo shirt and blue trousers and was also carrying a bright red Serco rucksack and a blue plastic bag. Ms Jones is also known to travel by bus to Hull.

Officers are concerned for her welfare and would urge anyone who may have seen her, or know where she might be, to contact Derbyshire police by calling 101, quoting reference number 976-140621 in any correspondence.

Earlier today, Wednesday, June 16, officers released an update to say: "The last confirmed sighting of Melissa has been confirmed as being on Monday, June 7 - if you have seen her after this date please get in contact with the force."

You can also contact the police via their social media channels, or by calling Crimestoppers, which is an anonymous service, on 0800 555 111.

Police are reporting a possible sighting of a missing Ilkeston woman in Nottinghamshire

The force believe she may have been seen walking along Awsworth Lane, just before 2.40pm, on Monday, June 14.

The latest sighting follows a media appeal.

Police said “We would like to thank everyone who has helped by responding to that so far.”

I know they've seen these by now, but 2 separate comments there make me think they should check any cameras at Tesco. Hope she's OK!

Agreed. There are always alleged 'sightings' that turn out to be not the person, but maybe if the poster sees who they think is her again they could contact police at time.
