Mountain rescue searching what looks like the recreation area now.

I smell something very fishy here. Kids don't usually get 'abducted' from non-ground floor apartments. Just me?

ETA and do 3 year old kids really leave a block of apartments by themselves and no one notices a tiny child walking alone? even in the middle of the night - this is Edinburgh, not a tiny rural village.

Obviously I hope Mikaeel is safe ASAP, but I have a really bad feeling here. :(

VICTIM FRIENDLY: reminder folks... we don't discuss the parents in a negative light until or unless they are named a suspect or person of interest. This lands at random

I hope it's ok to post this? Here's a picture someone has posted on twitter of the front door, is that CCTV??

Edit - This isn't CCTV, it's a door entry video system

Yes that's CCTV. :)

*fishy smell gets stronger*

Or maybe just a camera for the door entry system?

It appears to be. I wonder if it works...

This is what worried me. A natural place for a child to go? Or a natural place for someone who did not want to be seen, to get to the water?

The coastguard are out searching now but they won't have long. They'll push it to the last minute though. Those guys are very brave and they will be desperate to bring this little one home.

It has been too long now.

Hope this little one is found safe and very soon.
I have a not such good feeling here.

According to Sky, he lives with his mother, no mention of his father. Trying to speak with all family members, but again avoided actually speaking of his father.

I wonder what else was missing from the house (besides his coat and shoes), or disturbed, if anything, and whether the other children could shed light on this?

It would be interesting to see what Mikaeel's bed looked like too when the police saw it in the morning.

Looks like 360-degree surveillance to me. that's quite a common style of CCTV camera in Britain.

I know that looks like CCTV, but we have something like that in our hall and at the front door, and it's a sensor for the lights to come on, only difference is ours is white, not black. It still could be a camera as I think the point is to confuse so you don't know you are on surveillance. Just thought I would mention this. MOO

The block's listed as having video entry. I wonder if it records?

It looks like the door has been protected by forensics. I guess there is no historical video, or they would know how Mikaeel left the building by now.

Yeah after I posted it I thought it's probably just a camera for the door entry system. The flats near my house have a video door entry system. I think that's probably what this is. It won't record if it's a door entry system.

Twilight here. Lost most of the light. How's Scotland?

Oldest child is about 8 and the youngest is newborn, according to Sky.

Confirm that the video system is for letting people into the building, not for recording activity on the street.

The flat around the corner being investigated reported a strange man tapping on the window, but unsure as to why the extent of the forensics, according to neighbors on Sky News.
