Does anyone else think its strange that Police can't confirm if he has a passport? One call the Passport Office and they would have this information. He won't be on his parents passport, they don't allow that anymore, all children need their own Passport now.

You're right about the passport thing, he would have his own, easily checkable. And surely the family would be able to confirm whether he'd ever been abroad?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...year-old-boy-went-missing-home-overnight.html

Also a quote from this article by a neighbour Patricia Kilpatrick, 72, said: ‘He had come to take the kids on a Sunday but he couldn’t get them from inside the house.

‘She had gone out for the night and hadn’t come home so they were there in the house by themselves. Soon after that the police arrived to sort out everything.’

Also a quote from another neighbour in an article from The Telegraph: Amanda Spiers, 27, who lives nearby nearby, said she heard knocking at her door at 6.45am but did not answer the door because she lives alone with her children.

Another resident said he understood that police had taken fingerprints from the door in an effort to establish if it was Mikaeel.

Ms Spiers said: “There was no way I was answering the door. I looked through the spyhole and didn’t see anybody, but if it was the little boy I wouldn’t have seen him. I just hope it wasn’t him.”

So is it unreasonable to ask, if that's true, if the children might have actually been left alone again, the night Mikaeel disappeared?

I wonder if social services have had previous contact with this family?

I cannot believe as they have now spoken to Mikaeel's Father that he has not made a statement or indeed an appeal. No members of either side of the family have made an appeal or a statement and the police are being so cagey about the whole thing.

This is an excerpt from the original article on the first page of this thread:

Mikaeel, who is British with Asian parents, was at home with his mother and four siblings last night, police have said.

Superintendent McAinsh added that police will be looking to talk to all family members, including Mikaeel's father.

What does that mean? He is british with Asian parents?

Just that he's a British born child with UK citizenship but both his parents are Asian. I believe his Father is Pakistani and his Mum is of Indian background. So possibly Dad a Muslim and Mum a Sikh going by her name (Rosdeep Kular).

Ok, thx. I thought it meant he was adopted or something. He is such a cutie pie. My heart is aching for him and the family.

Just for the record Mikaeel is a Muslim name meaning "Allah's Angel" so very likely Dad is a Muslim.
