Press Conference: Police wanting people to phone in if they think it was their child, so they can rule out that it might have a different boy.

Police said the area would have been busy at that time of day. Asking again "could it have been your boy?".

  • #625
It is about 1/2 mile from the boy's home address.

  • #626
trying to eliminate this child

he does not like wearing a hat and hat not missing from home

  • #627
He doesn't like wearing a hat or a cap and there is not one missing from the home, is their understanding.

Press Conference:

No hat missing from Mikaeel's house and police confirm that he doesn't like wearing hats.

Child in cctv was wearing a hat, but can't be identified via the cctv.

Area where cctv/sighting was, is within the police search parameters. Police won't confirm if they searched that area already.

  • #630
The sighting was of a boy wearing a hat, but no hat is missing from the home and he did not like to wear hats.

Running towards the sea :( However Mikaeel dislikes wearing hats and none of the hats from his home are missing so who knows.

  • #633
No adult seen on CCTV associated with the child.

  • #634
Not releasing the cctv image at the moment, as they can't identify the child from it. Might be released in the future if there is a reason to do so.

  • #635

From the press conference

A child fitting Mikaeels description was seen at 8.30 am running along the right hand side of the pavement on west pilton gardens, in the direction of towards the sea.

He fits the description but he was wearing a cap or a hat. CCTV footage has confirmed this but has been unable to identify the child.

Area is busy at that time of the morning

Mikaeel does not like to wear a hat, doesn't own one and one is not missing from his home

Urging anyone who they think is their child and can fit the description, and was in the area to come forward. Or any one else who may have witnessed the child. Call 0300 200 0200

Mikaeel missed nursery during the day as he was too ill to attend, he slept in a different bedroom to everyone else due to being ill ........... but that night or very early the next morning, he was well enough to get dressed on his own, sneak out of the house, walk 1/2 mile away from his house and then run along the road at least a couple of hours after being outside in the cold. Sounds odd to me. MOO.

Media keep emphasising that Mikaeel didn't like to wear at hat, didn't own a hat, and no hats missing from the house ..... but the child in the cctv was definitely wearing one.

Is it just me, or is it odd that they are not releasing the cctv? Surely it will be easier for a parent to identify it was their child if they actually see the footage. I mean either his mum can confirm it is him, or another parent can confirm its their child. Now any parent who has a 3/4 year old son who walked that route yesterday, might be clogging up the phone lines?
