The alarm was raised when a friend found the springer spaniel, called Willow, running free beside the River Wyre, in the village of St Michael’s on Wyre.

Police then discovered her phone on a bench in the village. The conference call was still ongoing.

she had been logged into a team meeting since 9.01am on Friday.

“It seems as if she was muted and didn’t have her camera on. She was listening in whilst walking her dog,”

If she was muted that means anything untoward happening her end would not have been picked up by her work colleagues.

Exactly what I was just about to say. That changes my thoughts a little knowing she couldn't be heard by them. Quite a few possibilities here.

Another local-ish one for me.

The "It has been revealed she was on a work conference call at the time of her disappearance" makes me wonder how that was 'stopped'. No reported (at least) scream or struggle? Though there is the mute mic. thing to consider)

Sorry, have not had time to read through the whole thread yet. Is her boyfriend the father of her 2 children?

A MISSING dog walker was on work call when she vanished three days ago, it has been revealed.

Nicola Bulley's phone was found still connected to the conference about an hour after the 45-year-old was reported missing, police said...

I think that puts a new complexion on it, and why the police say they are 'following a number of lines of inquiry'.

Also makes you wonder if she was locked onto that how aware she was of what was going on around her, or if any stranger potentially lurking nearby.

Pure speculation...what if the harness, phone and dog were placed at the scene to make it look liked she'd vanished on the walk??

By who?

I also wonder whether Nicola regularly used that same seat when participating in phone conference calls. "Regular" in this case could mean a set time on a set day of the week.

Someone trying to divert the attention from themselves? Like I say pure speculation.
It's still possible she has chosen to go missing of course.
However, if this isn't by her own doing, then there's no sign of an attack at the scene and she hasn't been found in the water. We know she was in the area that morning but we don't know for certain that that's where she went missing from. All moo.

Yes I would like to know how open the area was and if anyone could have been hiding. But then if she had been kidnapped on the spot, how close is the nearest road to get her into a car say? Just speculation.

Does anyone here use a dog harness and would you take it off during a walk or just detach the lead from the harness ? My dog wears a collar, which is left on, when off the lead.
If she did not have the dog at 09:15 , it means she more than likely left it in the park freely and didn't jump/fall in the river. - I wonder if the reason the dog was out of both the lead and the harness because it had been left tied up to the bench and had wiggled it's way out of them?
I take the harness off completely as my dogs love to swim and so it keeps the harness dry-ish for the rest of the walk.
I don't think we can figure out the harness, tbh (but her family might).
1) It is possible the dog was tied to the bench and wiggled out.
2) It is possible the harness was taken off to avoid it getting wet (might rub the dog afterwards, might get dirty, etc)
3) It is possible the harness was taken off because is was noisy, or uncomfy for swimming (these make noise if you take the leash of, note the wobbly metal parts on top, my dog hated that; many people use the harness mainly to avoid pulling on the neck if the dog starts pulling for any reason like spotting other dogs or finding to good smells, but take off for "fun time")
4) It is possible the harness was never put on in the first place, but brought along "just in case"

Looking at FB images it looks like there have been occasions where the dog has been near water and had the harness both on and off.
And also images showing the dog wet with harness on and off.

I do hope she’s found safe.

How deep is the river?

actually

I'm out of time to edit this post -

just to update, later reporting shows that the bench is actually by the river - see Ted's post #168 - not in the village

How deep is the river?
Will vary, deeper patches tend to correlate with a narrowing. Judging by the pics and as is generally the case in small land rivers, anything from 1 to 3 feet depending on rainfall Which it could then go to about five.

If you look at her FB she seems to post at least every couple of days...until the start of December, then nothing....could have changed privacy settings perhaps, but does make you wonder whether there's something in her private life which might explain her disappearance without any signs of an attack

The thing is we have a veritable short time period in which she went missing - 45 minutes from when she was last sighted, there, to the dog being found there too.

I was wondering if you meant left by a random stranger or by someone she knew or was at least acquainted with.

The phone on the bench is concerning. Stopped to listen, sit and then she has put it down to attend to whatever has grabbed her attention.
