Interesting wording “Emma White added: 'Bring Nikki home, come to the sofa, with the girls, with Willow and you can have that happy story

Probably nothing, but made my ears prick up.
Yes nothing. Not the whole interview but this should put it into context:

Reporter - Your daughter's are friends, how are they all coping? Her children and yours?

Friend - Yeah, I think children are quite resilient, aren't they? Obviously asking questions each day. I know the girls when they get home from school say, 'any news on mummy' and Paul has to say 'no', and Paul says he can just see the little girls just deflate. The little girl saying 'is my mummy famous?', and I didn't quite know how to answer that myself, it's for the wrong reasons.

Reporter - Absolutely and what do you want now, I think it's simple isn't it?

Friend - Simple. Just bring Nikki home and I've said 'we'll bring Nikki home, come to the sofa with the girls, with Willow and you can have that happy story' because that's what we're keeping hope for.

The bolded part, I believe clearly indicates she's relaying a conversation she has had with Paul.

Close friend of the family Heather Gibbons ( the one who also kiboshed the false claim that the big riverside house hadn't been searched)

Mrs Gibbons added: 'At the moment the police have been clear as to what their working hypothesis is, but it is exactly that, it is a hypothesis.

'I have spoken to police along with other friends and family and they have made it clear all avenues are still open.

'They are encouraging everyone to keep open-minded, the words were, they have not got their blinkers on.

'We are hopeful, we're still holding on to hope
.'

2 lines above, same reporter says 'The force has discounted foul play' !

In rural areas most CCTV will be in private ownership and used to detect intruders, rather than monitor people in general.
Same with dash cameras which are there principally to record an accident/incident should you be unfortunate to be involved in one.
Fake cameras also exist, just to act as a deterrent, so its unreasonable to assume that everything will be caught on a camera somewhere
All I said was she was out walking her dog. I'm trying to think of any men who have disappeared recently in the middle of the day whilst out walking their dog. Nope. Drew a blank there.

IMO the absence of evidence is evidence in itself that a third party is involved - someone has gone to great lengths to bamboozle the police. IMO.
I agree with your thinking. I’ve always firmly believed this wasn’t a drowning accident.
Having said that I understand why the police have placed emphasis on that.
My thought is, if she sadly drowned them there’s little anyone can do except locate her and bring her home. Therefore parallel with any river search the utmost should be done to cater for scenarios of foul play. If someone whisked her away then she needs to be found.
A very attractive lady disappears
Belongings left scattered (?) at a bench
A seasoned dog walker who walks the same route almost daily
Job involves meeting new customer
Has new business

To me there’s a lot of foundation for investigating foul play. I could say more but I don’t as it’s just me summising

It’s enough for me that the family and friends of Nicola seem adamant she hasn’t fallen into the river… trust them

The sort of men who walk dogs are probably too intimidating to approach.

If she isn't in the water, isn't that what we might be looking at? Obviously she may be in the water and just may never be found. But if she wasn't it seems it would be too late to turn this into a criminal enquiry with any prospect of prosecution, all evidence would be lost. Another Claudia Lawrence.

I still get where you are coming from. Personally I don’t see the point in having cctv if you aren’t going to maintain it or clear the cobwebs from it. JMO
IIRC there were a couple of cameras not working when Lindsay Birbeck went missing - thankfully the ones that picked up RM with the wheeled bin and one that picked him up leaving the field late at night with wet knees. Also the private cctv (with cobwebs) that captured Pawel Relowicz park up on the side street. I do wonder what would have happened if he’d parked further up or down that street and not been caught on it.

Ah ok I listened to the interview as well and that wasn’t how I thought she meant it, but yes can see when you say it like that it could that mean it to.

Not really. Its just that they aren't willing to accept that she is probably dead.

yes thanks for adding the extra - I'd missed the meaning ( so she was saying it to the girls)

btw
I saw the interview where Emma was asked if she had faith in the police and at first she said she didn't want to comment, then hesitates before saying some complimentary things. It's somewhere on this thread

Anyway, imo, they both believe she is alive, just from reading Paul Ansell's comments same day Nicola Bulley's partner says his family are going through 'hell'

A lot of the benefit of CCTV to the person installing is the deterrent effect it has. Your criminal doesn't know if the camera is working or not so that stays in place even if it's not recording, which is why I think a lot don't get around to fixing them.

JMO.

Btw we have definitive confirmation here, that the CCTV black spot is the gate at the bridge,
where Nicola turned right onto the path.

Am so glad that they're pushing the Garstang Road exit on mainstream news now because I noticed that LancsPoluce have been appealing for dash cam of that exit since 30th Jan - almost 10 days, every day

I'm new to the forum and unsure how things work but before reading some of this thread I saw the comments on this story from Peter Faulding who is supposed to be an expert
"

Monday, 6 February

A team of private underwater search experts, who offered their services free of charge, joined the police operation to find Bulley.

But after searching three or four miles of the river on Monday, Peter Faulding, head of Specialist Group International (SGI), cast doubt on the police theory that she had fallen into the river.

He told TalkTV: “I personally don’t think she’s in the river, that’s just my gut instinct at this point.”

He said the river had not been moving fast and that when someone drowns "they generally go down where they are".
He added: "We normally find them within five to 10m of where they went down - even after a few days.

"This is the most baffling case I've ever worked on." "

It's stated she was a string swimmer and the river was slow moving on the day she vanished meaning that had she drowned she would have stayed put.

It also states in the piece that the family don't believe she went into the water and that there is no proof she did go in and her sister stated it's just a theory by the police that she went in the water and there is no proof she did so keep an open mind. The police also state they don't rule out that she may have driven off with someone.

I am sure the police would have informed the family if they had any proof or good reason to think that Nicola Bulley fell in the water. It seems more a case of ruling things out and seeing what's left as possibilities as far as the police are concerned.

Sorry if I'm not entering things properly.

I know nothing, put forward no conjecture, I just hope she is found soon and have sympathy for the family and whatever hell they are going through.
Hi!

I did wonder if she tried swimming for a while, so possibly further downstream (hence missed by LE divers at scene) and when PF started searching, what a full 9 days later (?) her potentially being further downstream due to floating. Another posted suggested that the window for floating is wide. Got this from a web search 'As a former search and rescue diver, and someone who has done more river searches than I care to think about, I think I can answer this. For a body to float its about three days… maybe five if its winter..'.

Perhaps this is why the search has moved to the sea area.

What about the bloke in The canoe who they spent weeks looking for and was photographed in panama on holiday
That charade was done by the guy, not by the police.

So what are everyone's thoughts on what information the police may have and are holding back that leads them to the river theory with no suspicious circumstances?
I can only think it may be anecdotal from members of her family. Maybe it is health related from medical sources. However, I struggle to think of anything that should prevent them from looking at third party foul play. But I am sure they haven’t completely discounted third party foul play… although they do emphasise they don’t believe there is a third party involved. It is quite strange really

Agree. They're holding onto hope, and who wouldn't want that vs. the alternative :( .
