I would say all of those assumptions are fairly high probability though. a) I don’t know anyone who doesn’t use a lock on their phone. b) Yes someone else may know it but that’s likely to be people very close to her (who have probably been looked into). c) When a phone is unlocked it will only remain unlocked in use or a short time afterwards. A possibility for sure but I doubt someone abducting her is focussing on keeping the phone unlocked rather than keeping her under control.

Not saying it’s an impossible theory just that it seems unlikely (admittedly most theories do at this point).

A body cant be dragged into the inlet as if this could happen then trees etc could also. It will have a mesh.
Yes I know. This is the bit which will presumably have been checked.

Filtering debris is dealt with in various different ways but usually it would be someone who comes and clears out a chamber with a keb (bent rake shaped tool on a pole). There are some which have conveyor belts to remove debris but unlikely here.

Point is that the mesh may not be on the outside. It might be further in and have an access hatch for cleaning.

That little building must have been checked out but not sure if this has been confirmed by LE. It was discussed much earlier in the threads.

Run off with a lover? What, and have her parents, sister, husband and kids all think she's dead? Unbelievable.
Agree, IMO this lover theory can be easily & entirely discounted; more likely is a scorned man, someone (local ?) who maybe often tried his luck in chatting her up on her walks, but who she may have treated kindly but repeatedly rejected. Being a strong capable woman she may well not have mentioned it anyone. There are a lot of nutters out there.

It's looking less and less likely that she drowned and more and more likely that a third party was involved in her disappearance (whether that is co-ordinating with her or against her will).

I think now the focus might need to move away from the river and move towards looking through CCTV approaching the area.

There were CCTV blindspots covering the direct entrance/exit to the field, but can the police use dashcam or other CCTV to see who approached the field during that time period, if any cars/vans stopped near the field and then drove off around the time of her disappearance.

Does anyone know why Paul couldn't look after the children the night before when Nicola asked her parents to stay longer because she was at a meeting with her boss in Garstang? IMO it might provide some reason for the differing schedule on the Friday morning leaving the house.
Evening Standard Article Reference
He works for an American company and follows USA time imo

I hope a local isn't responsible, that would be frightening

As the days go by in this case I'm leaning back towards the most likely scenario being that NB is in the river (IMO). But four things still prevent me from fully believing this: 1) that the water was shallow enough for somebody to stand up in according to expert PF. 2) that it was also very still and calm on that day (27th January) 3) that PF in his long experience could say that a body would usually sink down and stay in the initial place for some considerable time and 4) that police divers were in the river on the first day and for several days after that until PF himself conducted his sonar scanning of that portion of the river and all found nothing. Having said all that I still think that the river is more likely than a sudden abduction/assault by a stranger. But that still leaves the possibility of somebody known to NB, or recognised by her. And the other, less discussed theory that she simply walked away from her own life which is hard to believe as she clearly doted on her kids. I get an odd feeling from the last CCTV images of Nicola at her car. I don't know why. Something not right about her on that morning IMO. JMO. MOO.
Shallow at the edge, not further out. Dozens of sources stating that a body can float after 3 days, typically 5 in colder conditions. She may have attempted to swim downstream, hence not where the divers were looking. And after 2 weeks could be some distance away. So, it’s entirely feasible that she could be further downstream. PF should be ignored entirely.

I don’t think she would leave them either tbh. But an abduction immediately after the school drop would have had to have been meticulously planned and executed for it to have happened without a single witness, in such a small time frame, and then to have a “decoy” dressed exactly like her, with the dog etc, and be good enough to fool the couple of witnesses who saw her in the fields… a huge risk imo, but what do I or any of us really know? I’m still leaning towards her going to put the harness on Willow at the end of her walk and somehow tripping over the dog/coat, whatever, and falling in the river, possibly hitting her head on the rocks that are by the bank. That doesn’t explain her not being found though, nor anything belonging to her either. It is a mystery for sure, but Occam’s razor is usually the best explanation.

Edited for spelling error.

While I recognise the plausibility of 'walking away' , after all no one knows what goes on in another persons head, it would have been much easier for her to drive to nearest mainline station and disappear that way rather than a secretive exit from a field within her home village.
I have no doubt her body will appear somewhere downstream within the next few months.

On the same day that LancsPolice have asked ' so called experts' to stop commenting'on the case, the former North West Chief Crown Prosecutor - Nazir Afzal - says he's been approached 22 times by the media to comment on the case and he has refused. (Gives an illustration of how strong the media interest is)

Has anyone described which exit she would normally use on her walks when she had to get back home to work and where/when she would usually put the lead and harness on?
On my walks I will always do this in the same place and my spaniel is really good and is never a problem to catch because it Is part of her routine. They are generally really obedient dogs eager to please.

Is the company she works for one single national company which employ’s people (employed or self employed) or is it a company which has people in different areas who have taken on a franchise? I expect the Police will have looked into the nature of the Teams meeting and the content as to whether it was training, company update, meeting targets etc. I know someone who logged in to a Skype meeting a few years ago with the company they worked for (different line of work completely) and the meeting was to tell the employees that they were having to make redundancies.

I seen a Manchester Evening news reporter (I think) live reporting from scene and he said something about the signal isn’t great here! I’m assuming that (he said he was using his phone to record) he was talking about network reception? So is this to do with his data as obviously no wi-fi? So I was wondering if it would have been the same for NB on works call? Or maybe the reception where she was on call was ok, why make a work conference call if you can’t get a great service signal? Even if you have data does it rely on your actual phone signal because you can’t get wi-if? As I’ve said I’m not tech savvy, anyone enlighten me? Plz?
You’d need 4G or 3G at best to be on a teams call over app

Edited to remove incorrect information.

ETA
It is ordnance datum.

Apparently the gauge at Catterall is 0 above datum so maybe the depth is 7m as you suggest.

I'm sure this has been well underway for some time.
With 40 detectives , ( or officers) on the case, police are well able to multi task

There’s not a shred of doubt that if that was the content of the call then police are aware.

His comments are in quote marks. That, regardless of the source, indicates that the comments attributed to him are his own words, verbatim. Even the Sun is subject to good journalistic practice when it comes to direct quotes.
