The sad fact is that many missing people turn up in water weeks or even months after having entered it, sometimes at great distances from where they are assumed to have entered it. Isn’t it simply too early to say that she’s not in the water?

I don’t even think the Police have setup a crime room for this, seems really odd , no description of the clothes she was wearing or a drawing of how she may of appeared of even a direct phone number to ring if you have information?
IMO that's because they're not investigating a crime, but a missing person, and do not appear to have strong evidence about whether it's because of a deliberate disappearance, an accident, or a crime. Even if a crime, what kind of crime?

Police cannot open an official homicide investigation unless they have actual evidence indicating a real homicide (not an imaginery one), has occurred.

It is slightly interesting that the little building nearby is called "red brick" on the anglers website map. This seems to imply that it could be quite an old structure.

I imagine this is where the theory of a tunnel under the river comes from. The old house opposite seems to be a really very old one and the site of a stately home of some sort. In the old days people spent a lot of money on their houses and if there was a river nearby it could have been useful for boating activities. A tunnel is a bit far fetched and it would be much more likely you would put in a bridge but the building is still interesting and one hopes that LE in this case have opened it up and checked it.

Looks like there has been something there for a long time

In the Channel 5 interview last night Paul Ansell stated he had called NB phone and WhatsApp. He'd received a call from school at 10.45. And then he'd called the police (999) from the car on the way to the river. In the summing up from the show the host laid out the timeline and he stated 10.45 call from school and 11.00 call to Police.

So is this 15 minutes between the school calling PA and him calling police in the car? Does this seem a long time?
I thought the river was 10 mins from their home?

I don’t see how 5 minutes would be significant, I doubt he knew the exact time he left or arrived at the walk area. I believe he did say in the interview that he was in his gym outfit, maybe he changed. I’m not sure you can accurately measure the time of a journey like this either. Sometimes the roads are clear, sometimes you’re behind a couple of cars at a junction.

The first interaction was with a regular dogwalker ,she said they had a short conversation .

The first interaction was with a regular dogwalker who sad

Muxt complying with your request to sat the first too interact was a regular who knew Nicola so. Her testimony

The first interaction was with a regular . I doubt she would have mistaken who she was ta

I doubt very much the lady she had the interaction with Would mistake.

The lady who met her would not have. Mistaken her identity. She knew her
I'd read that NB was seen by someone who knew her at 08.43 (and this was at a distance. I think this was reported elsewhere as from one field to another) and it was their dogs had interacted. Not that the two people had spoken. That happens to me with my dogs. I can see walkers at a distance and dogs meet but their humans remain at a distance. So perhaps a similar coat and the same dog is a possibility.

I think this is also a possibility, look at Alice Byrne who went missing last year on New Year's Day. I think slightly different given she went missing right by the coast in Edinburgh but no body has been found/recovered in that case and I think they have now concluded all lines of enquiry on the basis that they believe she entered the water.

I haven’t seen anything today at all - very quiet and very worrying.
Clearly LE is confident NB is not in the river stretch they were searching. That’s why they stopped.

As I commented before it’s the sequence of three unlikely events which makes me discount LE’s river theory: 1. Accidentally and unnoticed falling into the river (possible). 2. Unable to recover after that (very unfortunate). 3. Not being found (not an expert but seems unusual).

So for the “river” theory to hold, a series of very unfortunate events need to come together. Not impossible but it’s a low probability event.

Gosh I did not know about Alice and I live quite nearby …what a shame… I’ll t have to look into this. Thanks for bringing it up.

Has it been stated who the text message was sent to about the play date?
A local friend.

A friend who lives in the village, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Mirror Nicola had messaged another friend while she was believed to be on her walk.

The friend said: ‘She booked a playdate, 8.57, she sent a text message to a friend whose mortgage she had just recently signed off on to arrange for the girls to go for tea this week.’

Agree. Oh, and the responses are not just 'fight or flight' as people assume - it's fight, flight or freeze.
But you wouldn’t freeze while being walked 10 minutes with dog walkers nearby On open ground in broad daylight.

Playing Devil's advocate on that question but how do we know they were taken that morning. No time stamps on versions I've seen. I'm not saying that it isn't NB btw.
If these photo's of NB - posted to show her and what she was wearing on the morning she disappeared - are not genuine, then, given the police attitude to this disappearance, the poster would be in police custody by now and all the photo's deleted.

Normally when things are quiet, it means that some significant work is going on in the background! Let’s hope so anyway. We are inclined to expect daily if not hourly updates on things these days - conditioned by social media mechanisms - and find the reverse suspicious. Hopefully they’re working away productively.

Yes but they were originally shared by a family friend and then the police put them on after I believe. IMO.

Are the ring photos date and time stamped?
Then, a couple of things struck me:
1. NB seemed to often have hair down, not in a pony when walking and mostly in a bobble hat.
2. She's closing/loading the boot in the photos. SA in the c5 interview said he would load Willow and do the boot if NB was driving and vice versa.

Not sure. I wasn’t sure if it has been stated who the text message exchange about the play date was with. Is she her best friend? They live about 3.2 miles apart by the looks of it.
Would that be unlikely given they had spoken F2F moments before? And EW would have mentioned that they had exchanged texts I would imagine.

To me the doorbell images have always looked like NB but I am still confused by PA'S description of him loading up the car when it was clearly NB doing so in those last images.
I agree, it was a contradiction on channel 5 and one I noticed- which is weird as why would you say that knowing on the day that’s not what happened?

Who called the school to notify them?
