I wonder how far it's possible she could have travelled by now if she has not got caught somewhere and remained in place. Is it even possible she's out to sea?
I honestly wouldn’t like to say for sure. I guess it’s possible she could be stuck somewhere.
I don’t think it will be as straightforward as the new diving team thought it would be. I hope I’m wrong and we get some answers soon.

SGI and Peter work with the police and are the official police marine search team in southeast England.

He might have been given additional information by the police - i.e. Fitbit data - to suggest a river incident.
How can a fit bit that hasn’t synced since the Tuesday before she vanished provide any data?

The thing that bothers me is that Willow was found/seen at 9.30am then someone contacted the school/NB partner at 10.50 am. That would mean Willow was left on her own for an hour and 10 mins and yet no other witness/person walked along that route in that time?
Did the person who found Willow at 9.30 or the person they contacted go back and make sure she was ok until NB partner and police got there?MOO

Yeah, I don't see how it could be the fitbit data. It might be an item of hers that they have found though.

It must be. There is, what, 14km of river between where she was last seen and the sea? For her to have reached the sea by now, she'd only have to have moved at about a metre per minute.
According to ‘expert’ Peter, a body would only move slowly once sunk.
The fact PF has changed his mind to suggest he now believes she is most likely in the river, suggests he has seen police evidence to support the theory, which we are not privy to. If so, is there any reason they won't share that? I know they hold things back, but just wonder for what purpose? And of course what the hell it might be.
For me, I’d guess at Fitbit data. It could potentially still push data to the phone within a short distance.

Situation is near-impossible for LP now. They haven't given a presser since last week, so they'll be feeling pressure to do so. But as it stands they still nothing. So it would be more of the same (this is our main hypothesis...), but even further skepticism from the viewing public. Of course, they have to give an update soon though. They must be absolutely desperate for a break. If NB isn't found in the river in I would say ~48hrs, IMO, LP is in a real spot of bother. At some point, of course, they'll need to ramp down search efforts (they cannot continue at this intensity in the river indefinitely, IMO)
In addition they'll have to consider what the family/PF, who are much less considered about what they say, will publicly state ... not an easy position to be in ... especially if they have other irons in the fire they don't wish to divulge yet.

It seems to me that the dog's harness ended up in the River for some reason. Maybe dog playing with it as bored because owner is using phone. Owner went down to the water to get it back. As she climbed back out the harness ended up being placed on the riverbank then she lost her footing and slipped into the water. It is cold at this time of year so if you go in then probably not going to be a good outcome.

I live on a boat and it does have to be said that it is quite common to be able to access the water by foot from a riverbank but find it ten times more difficult to get back out.

It's a shame that the new equipment they're using wasn't used on day 1. But of course resource and cost comes in to it, I know. Just think if they had that from day 1 and a second deployment as far up as possible on the river way beyond, and then both work in towards each other, they'd have covered the entire area she could possibly be in.

Do we know how far up the river they have already searched to?

If nobody checked on the dog and nobody else found the dog, that suggests nobody new came to the location. This would mean that any potential assailant would have had 70 minutes if they had managed to evade the 9:33am witness. MOO

Could take 3 days.
He said it would take one day with his super sophisticated technology and super experienced divers/searchers. He’s now extended it to three days…

Something about him smacks of self publicity.

He isn’t professional in the respect he stated as fact that she hadn’t gone into the river. Why say that when you’ve no idea what happened?

Is there anything to actually back up this "new equipment/higher frequency/expertise the "dumb" police haven't got" narrative from this PF bloke? Other than his own statements to the press ?

My old boss used to use the term ‘people pandering to their own self-importance’. That echoes to me when I hear PF speak.

Yep. This ten-minute window could easily be over an hour.

Not that I know of. But he was very confident, so would look like a fool if he didn't think it added any value. Who knows.

Why even 70 mins? If the area hadn't been "locked down" at that point then there's nothing stopping a potential perp laying low for a while longer.

Lancs Live is back on again on FB.
Reporter was at the bench. Several people standing around the bench chatting, looked to be general public, but could be friends and family. One guy standing right down on the bank edge looking into the water.

From the video and her walk around, the river is much bigger than I had thought it to be. Not an easy task to search it.
