It's like one thing after another with this case. I just feel so horribly for their families. And then there's this investigation about how the police treated them being reported missing.

"The IOPC is also separately investigating how the Met handled calls from worried family and friends of the sisters after they went missing."

PCs suspended over photos of double murder scene

I am really curious about this because Wembley, unlike many other London Boroughs, has their own Missing Persons' Unit among its police force as I have talked to them in the past.

I am not sure though how well or not they are operating but I guess main investigation is now due to nobody from police searching or even visiting last location of 2 missing women. On another thought bodies were found 2 days later by members of the public, so it seems police did not search there at all.

Yes, that would warrant to investigate the conduct and how serious family calls were taken, especially if you have the whole unit dedicated just to do missing persons' job.

Are we sure this is accurate. It's the Daily Mail Online.......

I've seen it being quoted as a selfie in a couple of articles now. I'll see if I can get their links.

I’ve just heard about this and I’m shocked. Gross misconduct, literally. Sack them.

Agree. This is appalling, from the seemingly slack approach to the original investigation to this latest news of a shared selfie with the two deceased. Especially given that it’s the Met, which has had more than its share of inquiries and code of conduct revisions, etc., since the Lawrence case.

What is wrong with people...I looked at stabbing incidents in London and I was shocked to see how many were done by 17 - 19 years old. pffffff.

Okay, taking selfies with murder victims? Those cops should be fired, AND named and shamed. Disgusting. Also very concerning that perhaps the first calls to LE were not taken seriously. Because apparently they couldn't even check the area where the women were last seen? Really? What kind of investigative work is that? Wouldn't that be like number one on the list? Check the area where the women last were known to be?

MOO

A criminal inquiry is under way into the conduct of two officers over claims that an “inappropriate” photograph was taken at the murder scene and allegedly sent to a group of people that included members of the public. The Guardian understands that other photos were also taken, including one showing a police officer.

Brent Central MP Dawn Butler told Channel 4: "It is so disturbing that it is just unthinkable.

"To take a selfie with two dead women and then to share that with a forum on a Whatsapp group, it makes you wonder just what's going on and what these officers have been up to previously."

She then tweeted: "This is one of the most disturbing things I have had to speak about. As I said on @Channel4News it is dehumanising and inhuman.

Starts at 41.30 ........ Mina Smallman talking to Martin Bashir

PM - 26/06/2020 - BBC Sounds
Started as I got home. The interview with their Mother was one of the most gripping radio pieces I’ve heard in years. So passionate and articulate and moving . I sat in the car with engine off listening til it had finished. A recommended listen.
