Calling a priest to hospital to perform baptism is dramatic and final IMO.
I cannot imagine what the parents were feeling.

JMO
It certainly implies concern. I wasn't expected to survive after birth (15 wks prem) and was baptised within 24 hours.

"He said the baby's condition deteriorated twice more, once when he and his partner left to get food, and again when they left to seek medical advice for his partner, who was feeling unwell.

[...]

The medic being discussed by the pair first gave evidence at Letby's trial a fortnight ago, addressing the jury from behind a screen.

On that occasion the neonatal nurse became visibly distressed and appeared to make an attempt to leave the dock via a side door in the glass-panelled dock."

10% Daily Mail -
Lucy Letby 'hugged mother after trying to kill her baby three times'
So the doctor behind the screen and the doctor spoken about in the texts is the same doctor.

Is it the same doctor she is Facebook messaging?

BTW isn't Facebook messenger the weirdest medium??

IMO it should be decided by parents themselves, not a nurse.

Also, her claiming to like calm and tidyness, isn't really compatible with someone who may have lots of random/unwanted notes, pieces of paper, paper towels etc stuffed under a bed. Which could suggest she has stored them purposely rather than by accident. JMO.

To be fair, people are often different at work. I was always tidy & organised but live in a tip. :)

How strange

I'm wondering if guilty, if the christening/baptism is another "ritual" relating to the babies' deaths that she might "enjoy" along with others like the memory boxes, bathing the baby, taking photos etc. ALL JMO

Haha fair point! And I think she was trying to show herself in a positive light to this dr she was messaging too, so might not mean too much. Just an observation really, as we hear so little about her personality JMO.

I think we’re all assuming it’s the same person, but hasn’t been confirmed?

Totally agree I find it very strange the Facebook messaging! I would hate to find out that medical professionals had been discussing myself/my children via Facebook, it just seems unprofessional to me. But may have been normal to them? JMO.

good spot , yes ....
Re LL's comment about it being a good shift, as there had been "nice babies and parents". IMO, this is an interesting insight into her character, which we have all been wondering about. As a non-medical person, I wouldn't expect any sense of judgement from a nurse or doctor, regarding the "niceness' of me or my baby.

It might also indicate
IF GUILTY
that those deaths were considered as some kind of euthanasia.

That's why the notion of "Fate" appeared.

And the necessity of baptisims to allow them to enter "better world".

Just My Opinion

Do we know if LL is a religious person? That would be interesting to know.

Yes, article I linked above confirmed it is the same doctor

To me ..using Facebook messenger is something someone might do when you do not know their phone number (yet)

The baby deteriorating just after the parents had left them. How similar is that to what Baby H's mother said :

Jurors heard that Child H stabilised throughout the day as her parents stayed with her before they eventually left to get some sleep in the parents' room.
Child H's mother said they had just gone to bed when they heard a knock on the door and staff told them they were needed back in the unit because their daughter was not responding.

And Baby A&B's mother:

The new parents left briefly to get some food, and were waiting in a side room when a nurse from Nursery 1 burst in and said: 'You need to come now!'

And Baby I's mother in the dailymail podcast

The hospital gave us a room to sleep in but every time we left and started to fall asleep we were woken up by banging on the door telling us to come quickly. It wasn’t once, it was several times. Our daughter seemed to deteriorate when we left her alone and predominantly at night.”

Four sets of parents all commenting that their babies collapsed just after they'd left them. Any others?

I think that’s true of most people. At work your motivated at home your tired because of work unless you don’t work in which case your probably just unmotivated anyway :)

I agree.

Nice babies versus... what kind of babies ...?

and what are these babies doing to LL to be placed into either category?

Potentially a peculiarly revealing insight.

All JMO.

Question for the medicals:

Re. The texting on shift.

Is there going to be a suggestion from the prosecution that the quantity of texting is an issue?

What's the general consensus on mobile phones on the ward, usually?

Is it something she'd have to sneak off to do? Or would she be texting openly in the nursery? Or only on a break?

Baby G

"Baby G’s mum left the nursery while this [cannulation] was going on. Baby G’s designated nurse also went out because she was looking after another baby elsewhere, and the doctors left the room once the cannula had been inserted. Moments later, LL who was looking after at least 2 other babies in the same room was calling for help, after baby G collapsed again."

The Trial of Lucy Letby, Episode 9: Baby G, Part 2: “She was a pale colour. She wasn’t moving. The monitor wasn’t on.”.

Question to anyone who knows - Do the jury have to review each charge in isolation or can they take into account the themes across the charges to decide a verdict? Proving beyond a reasonable doubt would seem difficult for some of these if you purely look at that instance and ignore everything else.
Exactly my thoughts.
