I think I've worked out one of the words that's been puzzling me, looks like it starts with a U and ends with a y. It's not the same as the word Whiskey that she's also written, and I believe could be a pet's name.

I think it's her signature LLetby and she's joined up the first two L's so that they look like a capital U. The final y has a flourish, and it's dotted around all of her notes.

Why exactly are these (frankly, deeply disturbing) notes being made public when the trial is still ongoing?
I don't see why it wouldn't be, it's evidence in a public trial. We've seen video in another case going on currently, of a teacher accused of murdering her partner, going into a DIY shop and purchasing bark chippings and topsoil used to bury his body in the back garden. It's not a new thing, releasing photographs of evidence during a trial.

Aren't Smudge and Trigger (tiger) from "Winnie the Pooh" characters?

Book or a film.

But I read the book in my native language when I was a child, so Im not 100% sure.

Mind the teddy bears on her bed!

JMO

Steady on. I still have my old teddy bear - Ted - who has to be warm & comfortable or I can't settle. Not sure what that says about me. :D

I don’t know what the rules are around this sort of stuff, and it clearly *can* be published openly at this stage because the press wouldn’t do so otherwise.

But if on the off chance she were to be acquitted (seems unlikely, but you never know) then she’s going to spend the rest of her life being asked about these notes, which seems like it’s creating a bit of a nest of hornets.

Can anyone make out what it says along the bottom in black: Note

????? Tiny Boy, Smudge, Whiskey
Lucy ???? ???? Lucy

One looks like it starts with a U and the other a B with a g. Can't understand it at all

It's what I've posted about above, her signature, LLetby

There's also the word whiskey

LLetby Whiskey Tiny Boy Smudge Whiskey

Lucy Bergerac LLetby Lucy

Those notes (bar the blue ones) look like the ramblings of someone who’s having a complete mental break.

Writing depressing song lyrics with words of apology and self pity, I can almost picture her with a glass of wine, music playing and crying while writing these disjointed notes.

They seem to have been written at a point when the seriousness of what was happening had become clear.

But maybe, they were written in the midst of a break up, drunk, lonely, depressed and with no one to talk to she felt she could trust she’s just splurged all her feelings onto paper.

I suspect these may have been written when Dr A called things off. Maybe up until that point she was staying positive because she had him to turn to. If he called time on their romance, she may have felt she had literally no one to turn to, no one to talk to who she could trust.

I think these were written when she reached her breaking point IMO. With all that was going on it’s no wonder these notes read like she’s having a mental breakdown.

Do you think that ‘Bergerac’ is a nickname she’d made up for this Kathryn de Beger lady? Maybe that’s who she thought had raised the alarm and accused her?
Or maybe she’s referring to the person she feels has started this investigation off, but as she doesn’t know who it is at this point she’s just calling them ‘Bergerac’?
MOO

Any ideas what it says to the right of the word Retrospectively on the back and red note?

Well I never knew this! So yeah Tigger and Smudge are probably good nmaes for two cats!

Smudge is a small talking ball of red-orange and green dust, and the secondary antagonist of The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh episode, "Cleanliness is Next to Impossible".

Everyday a school day! That's put a stop to using these names for your cats now though, I think.

Kathryn de Beger appears to be an occupational health and wellbeing manager so it's likely LL was in contact with her at various points following her removal from clinical duties

ETA: As she is named on a note introduced in evidence and shared with the media I assume it's ok to say this, but apologies if not

Maybe Kathryn and Karen were the ones who sat her down and told her she couldn't contact the doctor anymore. Maybe he didn't have the balls to do it himself. That could be why their names are sprawled all over the notes. Total speculation on my part. But I'm still curious what the illegible word is when LL writes "annoyed that Kathryn 🤬🤬🤬 and didn't tell me". On the second yellow notes.

Since they've published the names and not blurred them out as they have for other names, I believe it'll be ok to refer to them here. Kathryn de Beger is Occupational Health manager at the hospital, Karen Rees was the duty executive (director of nursing?) who Dr Brearey phoned after the deaths of baby O and P.

Yes, one of the other notes refers to an "OH Lady". There are some pictures of her in this article:

They do look like she’s having a breakdown. What I find particularly peculiar is the need to fill the entire space, like does she get to the end of the page and then start filling in the blank spaces with short phrases? The one where she’s went back over it in red ink, like she’s marking it, highlighting who she loves, is bizarre. They almost look like the kind of writings you see in people with schizophrenia.

I say all this from the perspective of being a frantic scribbler. I scribble when I’m on the phone or having a discussion where I need to focus on the detail, listing key words, repeating words, circling, furiously underlining, repetitive doodles etc. Some of the pages in my notebook would look suspiciously like letby’s, minus the serious crime confessions. But never have I produced anything like the black and red note, it’s a real insight into her consciousness at that time. JMO.

EDIT found it!

....us all??

I think it's a repetition of the song lyric mentioned before.
It’s the page with LOVE written in a box at the top left. To the right of “Retrospectively” there’s a group of words written across three lines. The middle line seems to say something like “are needed but”, and the rest of it I cannot even begin to decipher!

Edit: the portion I’m talking about is half way down the page, at the far right hand side.
