I think it is the same one. Did some research earlier but couldn't post it without MSM source. But there was reason to believe he was a married family man.
I mentioned weeks ago that regardless of who she was seeing that he'd probably be significantly older, especially if he's a doctor. I reckon he'll most probably be mid 40's at the youngest.

So evidently, Johnson showed the court a batch of pictures, with LL out at New Years, and Christmas, and other events, in 2017 and I am not sure if 2018---and in those pictures she is with some old colleagues and even dr choc, I believe.

And she has to admit 'those were good times back then' ---so she wasn't as isolated and alone as she portrayed herself to be in those notes

And she was still seeing her good friend, the loyal doctor at the time. And she still had a clerical job at the Countess

So when some of those super emotional notes were written, she had a house, a car, a boyfriend and some good social friends to go out with

I think that was a very important point to make---it makes those super dramatic confessional type of notes more suspicious in that something really really intense was bothering her, making her feel 'evil', hopeless, and full of guilt.

Before people were saying 'of course, she lost all her friends and her bf and her job and so of course she'd write " I killed them"

But if she still had her bf and her friends and her clerical job and her house and car---why so intense about being evil and suicidal?
So, my take on this is that she had a boyfriend AND Dr Choc!

Wonder if the BF knew?

Snipped for focus.

So is she admitting that he was her boyfriend after all?
I get the impression that the BF was someone else?

What gets me is she continued the lie about being isolated even after being given the portfolio of pictures of her social life this morning -

The prosecution says this "disproves" what Letby has previously said about her contact with the unit.

"I disagree," she says.

Letby is asked if she was "looking for sympathy" when she told the jury she had been cut off and isolated from her friends.

"Yes, it was a very difficult time," she says.

"You thought you'd get sympathy by telling a lie," says Mr Johnson.

"No."

"Was it just a mistake?"

"Yes."

She literally admits she was ‘looking for sympathy’… ‘were you looking for sympathy?’ ‘Yes it was a very difficult time’
I hope these small slip ups aren’t lost on the jury IMO. Some of them seem to be things you’d only notice when reading back through her responses.

IMO she is a pathological liar, it comes so naturally to her as she’s probably lied about little things her whole life, small details that no one has ever questioned JMO.
NJ has got her to admit to lying to the jury, so it’s not a stretch to think that she was also lying when she said she’s not a murderer.

It seems to me the doctor may have been careful with what was on his phone, being married.
Or had a second phone?

These days on Android you can even clone WhatsApp so you can have two separate WA accounts, one which you can keep hidden and on silent. Don't think it was a thing back then, though.

And we would never have learned this had she not taken the stand! I’m so glad she got up there and tied herself in so many knots she can’t remember which lies she’s already told.

I guess it all would be very eloquently highlighted during Prosecution Closing Speech.

Her taking the stand just precipitated the inevitable.

What a drama!
Kudos to the whole Prosecution Team :)

Splendid job!

They were communicating via messenger. So, no need for him to have her number on his phone and nothing that would show up on a phone bill.

No. I think she just finally (possibly accidentally) admitted he was her boyfriend.
I find it highly unusual a “very close friend” who she loved and sent heart emojis to, with a wife and children, would take a very close young female friend to London like this; unless there was something more in it. He appears to me to actually be said boyfriend as NJ kept referring to him as. Boyfriend, lover, affair. That’s how I interpreted it at least anyway.

Extremely unlikely IMO that you’d take a close female friend - just the two of you - away on a trip, even if it was just an emotional affair and they hadn’t moved towards anything physical.

Wow I was expecting BM to do a bit more of a re direct than that!
He probably lost track of all the contradictions and lies she’s told as they were coming in thick and fast..

As far as I can see he didn’t get her to dispute the accusation that she falsified documents or set up notes to look like babies were declining before they collapsed? I’d imagine if that was not true then BM would have made sure to ask about it as it’s one of the allegations I personally find shows pre meditation and intent to harm IMO

I’m a bit confused by the redirect from BM. He didn’t really refute anything there did he? Showing that LL was happy and smiley in social activities around this time surely plays into the prosecution’s case, as it implies IMO that the weird notes she wrote (“I am evil” etc) are actually more reflective of her true feelings rather than the symptom of depression/self loathing she’s claimed.

I’m not so sure; I believe dr choc was the bf

She's denied he was but has agreed with NJ that she had a boyfriend. That suggests that the BF isnsomeone else. Then again, she does have a habit of contradicting herself!

I thought these were WhatsApp convos?

The only person Johnson has consistently referred to as her boyfriend, including today is Doc Choc. If it was somebody else he'd have said.. or referred to her having two boyfriends.

No. Facebook Messenger. The majority of her messages to others appear to have been Whatsapp though.

ETA I guess they may have used Whatsapp at some point too too but the ones I've noticed were Messenger, and it stuck out as she seemed to mainly use Whatsapp with others.

Also I’d have thought that if she did have an actual boyfriend prior to her arrest he’d have been attending these court sessions, or they’d have revealed she broke up with someone. So I think it’s far more likely it’s Doc Choc.

I agree I think if it was as brief as it was from the reporting then it may have fallen a little flat IMO. Did he even finish by asking her ‘are you a murderer Lucy?’ Like NJ did? He just asked about her social life, whether she had fallen out with Mel, a few questions about the insulin poisonings, baby E and staffing levels and asked about the gang of 4.

He also showed a few snaps of her enjoying her life. Yet this was supposedly around the time she was so distressed and traumatised she was scribbling notes saying ‘I did this I am evil’

Maybe the reporting wasn’t the best because I imagine it’s difficult to keep up with every single question and response? From the CS updates it sounds like nothing was achieved, she just gave the same vague answers she’d given to NJ.. she ‘doesn’t know’ ‘can’t answer’ or ‘can’t recall’…
