Has anyone read anything about who is up next on Wednesday?

All I’ve seen so far is from the Chester Standard, saying there may be further evidence from the defence…not sure what that means, or if it’s just not worded very well.

Poor Lucy being arrested in her nightdress at 6am, being isolated from her ‘family’ at the hospital and terrified for her future because of the big bad doctors conspiring to scapegoat her for their mistakes.

The nightdress that haunted her at night, that was so strongly associated with the knock at the door. The same nightdress and door knock that caused PTSD causing these episodes of being startled and profound memory loss. .

That PTSD that meant court had to break or adjourn every time she was asked a challenging question…..

I thought breary and jaraym must have had an excellent briefing with the prosecution.
I noted how when recalling events DR SB described Dr RJ's actions and Dr RJ described Dr SB's in relation to how events unfolded.

That left Myers zero room for manoeuvre, he was jammed between two consistent stories in reverse effect; the fact they described each others others actions so consistently left him nowhere to go.

<modsnip: quoted post was removed> Their relationship is part and parcel of what happened. All part of being on the truth train. You can't have a trial with huge holes leaving the jury guessing, where it can be avoided.

Why did Letby have such a massive reaction and try to leave the dock when he gave evidence? Could it be because he thought doctors were blaming her unfairly (his message to her saying he would give a statement for her at any time) and he's not allowed to say?

Why did he send her confidential emails? Was it because he was rational and had good judgement, or was it because he was thinking irrationally and had zero objectivity?

Why was his name plastered all over her notes? How can we tell if she's lying about a relationship if the prosecution found no evidence of it and doesn't bring it in?

Why didn't she throw him under the bus with everyone else? Again, was it because she said he was her friend for so long after her removal, and so she can't say now he was conspiring, so does that mean there is some truth to the doctors' conspiracy, etc

Why would she lie about him being her boyfriend? Ah ok, he's married, so maybe that makes her honourable trying to protect him, or is it that she feels she will be judged poorly for her part in that? Did she ever tell her parents about him, and about him being married, and they're watching in court? etc

On one occasion Letby went to London with the doctor, and was due to go a second time before the trip was cancelled.

He had sent a message to her ending with a large red heart emoji.

Mr Johnson asked her to read it aloud, but then had to prompt her twice before she finally referred to the emoji. 'It's a heart,' she told him.

Letby had responded to the doctor's love heart with one of her own, combined with a smiling face emoji.

'It's a smiley face and a heart,' she said.

Mr Johnson asked: 'But he wasn't your boyfriend?'

Letby replied: 'It's not a relationship at all. It's a friendship'.

Giving evidence on the last of her 14 days in the witness box of Court 7 at Manchester Crown Court, Lucy Letby, 33, said she'd been 'having a good time' after she was suspended from the neonatal unit.

Imo it seems she was even more happy with him after she had been redeployed...she hadn't lost her job ..she had her house ...if you had done nothing wrong no way would you be thinking "ill never marry or have kids"

It's always interesting to hear your thoughts, but I would hate you to have a wasted journey if it's cancelled again.

I have just got home from the court....My god......
I didn't stick around for Mr Myers part in the afternoon.

I will write up a report later but I have to get this out here now.
I am not sure if this is in the writing but Johnson was asking Letby to spell the name of one of the babies mothers and when Johnson said "It is quite a difficult name isn't it" Lucy SNAPPED at him YES whilst giving him a incredibly angry sideways glance ! This only lasted a fraction of a second but it was like a totally different person came out in that moment.

The only way I can describe it is when someone is asking you something and they can't hear you, so you reply yes...yes....YES!!

It was like the mask slipped for a brief second.

I don’t know much about court room proceeding but are you allowed to just make assertions without any substantiating evidence?

- ‘gang of four’ discrimination - evidence?
- ‘raw sewage on ward and sinks’- evidence?
- ‘ptsd’ - evidence - or is this self diagnosed?
- ‘babies frequently crash’ - evidence?
- ‘I collect paper’ - evidence? Don’t see half of (named brand) stationers in her house!!!

Is this normal for someone to make these statements without providing any facts or proof? Particularly around the clinical issues as lay people will have no idea. Would be useful to have these confirmed or refuted by a medical expert.

The podcast is out. Not much we haven’t heard, but a little bit more info on her meet ups with Doc Choc, and they confirmed that she was talking about him when she apparently slipped up and admitted she had a boyfriend.

They did report on spelling the name out, but not the snapping part.

<modsnip: quoted post was removed> The married man/affair revelation is not about him though, it's about her. The prosecution's remit was to paint a pic of LL that challenged in every possible way the pic she painted of herself. DrChoc has been reduced, unfortunately for him, to collateral damage.

Is it harsh that his affair is now in the public domain? Yes, I think it is. Their affair was their business (no judgement from me here) and were it not for her turning out to be an alleged <modsnip: violates sub judice> killer, it would have remained so and no one would have been any the wiser.

There's a lesson there somewhere although I'm not sure what it is...

Anyway, I'm still on my fence. It's not over till it's over.
