I have calculated that if the deliberations last anywhere between 64 hours and 72.5 hours I will win because my guess will have been the closest!
Sorry pal!
But it will end on Wedn. after exactly the number of hrs I predicted!
And please, let's not argue :D

I've also just calculated that based on @Tortoise's rules for timing the deliberations we would need to reach a 15th day of deliberations in order to enter my window of victory.

I think it might be all done by then to be honest!

I would like to know what it was that made people think such short deliberation times were likely? I would have thought the seriousness of the trials possible results would make anyone think at least a bit more seriously it. Currently I wouldn’t be surprised if anything close to 80 hrs was the winner.

LOL well it's easy to post that now that we're 4 days in. Even you only guessed 31.5 hours not 80!

I’ve been very productive on this agonising wait! Defrosted the freezer and painted the downstairs loo.
I just have to keep reminding myself it’s so many charges to go over.

Because this case has been crazy-weird form the get-go and given the overwhelming evidence, imo I felt that even a short deliberation could have been likely. I thought they would have at the very least have been given notepads and pens but alas, they had to send someone out to fetch them!! This has got to be one of the most bizarre cases I’ve ever known- who knows what could happen next? I’ve been waiting for the sudden “plot twist” moment in this whole charade tbh

I had been thinking this. We’re all so certain that the verdict will come back this month! Perhaps the real smart option would’ve been to be the last person on the list so when it (inevitably?) goes over all our guesses, the last person would be the winner!

Are we having a poll? I’m interested to see who is leaning where.

i saw that as well. I can definitely see the jury needing a fine tooth comb for the evidence. theyv sat and listened for this time but how much could you actually absorb in that time?
I think it would be easy to work your own answer off of someone else’s. I also think it would be also be easy to overestimate how far along the jury is with the evidence. I did think they will have a general understanding but not yet complete and so are likely to use key points to agree or not on. That’s why they asked for a summing up of the evidence from the judge. I thought they would take a week to go over the key points and then spend some time goihg over doubts then the verdicts.

I think I just naively thought they might start with the (imo) stronger cases then once 3 or 4 were agreed ...for the others it would just be a case of ...can we be sure foul play caused the death / collapse and if so are we happy that LL had the opportunity to cause it

That’s reasonable logic. I thought similar and if for instance they start with child A (strong chance) which may be one of the more evidentially strong cases (allot of reports from med staff about the rash) then that according to instructions may set the scene for others especially when it comes to AE.
