"Mr Justice Goss, the trial judge,

sent the jury out at 1.02pm.

As they filed out, Letby watched them from her seat in the glass-panelled dock."

Time for @Tortoise

"two five-minute 'smoke breaks' will take place during each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon"

Smoke breaks? Sorta funny they still call them that.
Can’t imagine that will go down well with smokers… one break in the morning and one in the afternoon? When they are talking about such horrible stressful matters?

I too would like to thank everyone for all the reporting during the trial, marvellous for sure and a very great help as well. ((hugs)) xx

As for the medical terms/explanations, I have learned so many medical things since I started watching this trial.

One being the 'air embolism' I hadn't heard of that before, and of course didn't know what it meant. Then again LL supposedly didn't know what it mean't.........well, so she said. ;)

I have something that's been on the back burner for far too long, a cold-case which I'm hoping to get my teeth into and finish up, but also some non-crime related home projects. This case has been a real marathon.
What do you mean “finish up”? Do you go and read all the evidence available about it ?

Can you tell us which cold case it is ?

Imagine dedicating almost a year of your life listening to such harrowing details, cancelling plans and holidays, forgetting where you used to work back when you had a normal life. And then you finally reach a verdict, relief washes over you. And you have to hang around waiting for the judge to finish his sandwich.
Yes I expect many have forgotten what a normal life is. Sure that will take them all a good while to get back to a form of normality.

A member of the Jury could have have gone full term in pregnancy since this 9 months of the trial.

That’s probably all they’ve been getting throughout the trial, sometimes they even skipped the breaks.

But do the jury have to stick together during lunch, or can the smokers have their post-lunch smoke? Otherwise that time between eating and afternoon break will be tough!

I am so relieved we are actually now on jury watch. There have been times in this case I worried we would not get to this point.

Better not to praise the day before the sunset!
It can always finish with Hung Jury.

Ooops
Did I really say that?
Oh well
One never knows what tomorrow might bring.

Exactly what I was thinking. I have vaped for 10 years but I was a heavy smoker before and when stressed even heavier.
The “good?” Thing about vapes is you can sometimes be sneaky (bathroom breaks) not that I would know anything about that

I see no reason to change my avatar from Harry Enfield character William Ulsterman as I never really had a reason to have it as this in the first place!
