I haven't been following the trial, but am watching the thread for the verdict.

Not sure if this works in the UK, but in the US, Vinnie Politan says the prosecutor needs to start worrying when the jury has deliberated more than 1 hour for every day of trial.

I follow lots of trials and I've found that to be pretty reliable.

It might just be a listing error and absolutely of no relevance but they are not showing court 8 as being the usual satellite court on monday, notwithstanding it’s been technically empty for the last few weeks it’s always shown on the court lists. Not Monday though.
They probably know the jury can’t possibly complete two weeks straight without a absentee. I’ll be surprised if Monday goes ahead lol

I think we may have made a mistake in our timings on the quiz. Maybe it should have been in months instead of hours?

Brenda Spencer certainly didn’t.

I Have been on holidays for the past fortnight. The first week was the non sitting week for the jury, but, every morning for the last week, I have lingered in bed for a few minutes, wondering if a verdict was waiting for me. (In Australia) Everyday the answer, of course, has been no.

It must be done, and it must be done correctly, the judge has reminded the jury not to feel any pressure to hurry.....

This wait must be very difficult for those people directly involved. It is difficult enough for us, and we get to go about our daily lives quite normally.

Actually, I do. Ever since I retired it is pure joy to wake up on a Monday morning and then remember that I don't have to get up and go to work!

This is one of those times, where I desperately wish this case was in the US, where everyone in their mother is allowed to come out of the woodwork, and speak about all the (in hindsight, of course) weird encounters they had with the alleged perpetrator.

In the case of the recently arrested alleged serial killer in Long Island, there is a parade of schoolmates, neighbors, acquaintances, co-workers, etc., sharing their creepy encounters, oddities, etc about this guy.

Alas, No such luck on Ms. Letby from our friends across the pond (from this nosy US follower)!
And I wish we could eventually hear from the jurors, about their feelings and their experiences, etc....but that will never happen...lol

I had to google this expression as I have never heard it :)

And you know what?
How true it is!

"You should do what is best for you"
Exactly!
For Mental Wellbeing ;)
But when kids say 'It's ok, You Do You'---it's often a sarcastic way of saying ' you are a selfish arse'...lmao

This trial has been 9 months long---wonder how many actual days it was? Maybe 150 or so?
[18 days a month times 9=162 ]

So by Vinnie Politan's estimation we have a LONG way to go....

Anyone else get the feeling the random juror absence last week was because they went off on holiday??

They always say if it is sickness, but noone did this time. And the podcast said they were 'absent'. I reckon the juror had a holiday booked! Wonder how the atmosphere was in the room when they returned. One week of delay could cause someone else to now miss a holiday/event
