Anyway still wondering if there was something about her home life growing up. Reports say it was idyllic, middle class, leafy area. That doesn't allow for emotional abuse growing up. Overly harsh parenting perhaps. Emotional abuse isn't visible. What I find unusual as well is the type of house she lived in. Hardly the kind of place a young single woman would buy - more the type of place her parents would live in - a 70s semi in a family neighbourhood. Although they helped her buy the house, wouldn't a young single woman have chosen something like a city centre flat, more modern, with other young people around and a social life? She was surrounded by retired people or families with children. Not an ideal place to live for a young single woman.

So going back to the phrase of "Not good enough", Maybe she did have this feeling after her upbringing.

Well, it did back onto the children's section of the cemetery. Make of that what you will.

But could she be on first name terms with CEO?

Wouldn't she write: "Boss"?

She meant Union rep.

Besides,
this CEO Tony Ch. was the person who called Police to investigate.

She wouldn't use 'boss'. Referring to a manager using both their names is the most common thing.

Right! Well that knocks that theory on the head then! I'll have to find where it said her Mother was a GP but as you all say, reports say she was a clerk.
Baby C's mother was a GP.

That home struck me as the purchase of someone with aspirations for a marriage and family. And even if not, quite a canny purchase to begin on the property ladder. But I expect that she thought that she would grow into it, and her future family with it. It spoke of putting down roots, seeing herself in the area - and maybe at COCH - for many years into the future. It's a very human quality to have dreams of what might be. Now, the purchase seems like nothing so much a monument to hubris, to a dream that got lost on a very dark path, one that in another era would have most likely led to the gallows.

MOO

I read the Sentencing will be televised.
I hope to see it on Twitter :)

Will Prosecution and Defence have some Speeches too?

I'd like to see both barristers live :D

She started killing before he even started at the hospital.
Apparently he moved to that unit in the Autumn of 2015. Her killing spree started just before this. As we know so very little about the married registrar are we sure she didn’t already know him in June 2015?

Regarding this sentencing business. Why was Letby allowed to not attend court to hear the latter verdicts? She was there for the first set and then refused to attend for the others. Why couldn’t she be compelled to attend those?
I was wondering the same thing. How is that allowed?!

Me too! But more than likely we'll only get to see the Judge sentencing LL.

Meant to add. I think it will be quite a long sentencing hearing too.

That's been the case in previously televised sentencing by judges in Britain.

Given her place of work it wouldn't be an unexpected place for her to buy to be honest. It's close to the hospital and only a few miles from the city.

I think it mentioned she moved into a city centre flat for a while and then back out again. I wonder if she lived alone or with others

We know they didn’t start messaging each other until he’d started working there. And I don’t see how the first murders would have got his attention in any way if he wasn’t working there. I do think it was maybe part of the motivation later on, but definitely not the only thing driving her IMO.

"She is a serial killer", "She is so sweet and that is how she manipulates''

Televising sentencing is quite a recent development here. There is just one camera, focused on the judge. We don’t usually see the courtroom itself, and the judge is the only one who speaks.

She lived alone in the flat in Chester.
It belonged to a colleague from recollection.
My guess is that she hedged her bets at the first set of verdicts and came up and after they came back guilty that was that. She knew she was finished.
JMO !

Anyone saying anything that hasn't spent time with her is just speculating. Yes they can give an idea of the sorts of things it may be, but the only way is long term psychiatric assessment and even that may still not reveal the truth
Agree, but she's also been in custody for 3 years - presumably with access to psychiatric support (and assessment) - is that not admissable?

Well she sure socked it to all those people who thought she was bland and beige when she was murdering babies hey?

Honestly I don't see the need for the world to mock the 'averageness' and simplicity of her - that's been the least of everyone's worries.

I chose 'the exciting life' when I was young and it's had horrific consquences, so did many of my friends. I now live in the consequences of poor decision after poor decision and there's nothing can be done, a lot of people my age are long since dead. LL is in the right place - prison - but had she just been an average boring bland person, there's nothing wrong with that. She was also very busy socialising it seems, more so than most people I know.

A ‘nice to have’ smoking gun in this trial would have been something like a Google search by Letby “effects of air embolism”, or “can air embolism be seen at post mortem”. That kind of thing.

Well, she knew what the effects of air embolisms were. She had a course on the dangers of them, and how to use long lines properly, not long before the first incident.
