The best friend of a missing Gorleston woman has paid tribute to "the real Pat".

Elizabeth Hemmings, a close friend of Mrs Holland, said 'she was a lovely, lovely lady' and described her shock at what has happened.

ElizabethThe pair met about three years ago, after Mrs Holland encouraged Ms Hemmings to "get back out into the community".

She said: "She was my best friend. She was very argumentative, stubborn and often won many an argument between us.

"Pat taught me it was OK to fall out and then make up, and we would often joke about who was going to begin an argument between us first."

Ms Hemmings and Mrs Holland met at the community group held at St Andrew's Church in Gorleston in 2018 and had been in regular contact since then.

"We saw each other every day.

"I would go round in the morning and we would drink coffee and sit at the bottom of the garden, and just talk and feed the birds.

"She always let me know when it was time for me to go. We had a good relationship and I miss her."

Mrs Holland was also a frequent visitor to foodbanks in Gorleston.

"I would class her as the head of the community," Ms Hemmings said.

"She was a very much loved lady. She was bouncy, bubbly, and just amazing."

Mrs Holland was active in the community, regularly visiting foodbanks and church social groups.

The Rev Matthew Price, of St Mary Magdalene's church, said: "She was well liked and the community clearly cared deeply for her.

"She, her family and friends, and all involved in searching for her are in our prayers.”

I wonder where she is because the area doesn't have anywhere nearby you could take a body on foot and not be seen and I doubt he had access to a car if homeless. Is it possible that she might still be in the house? o_O made me think of this case...

Woman whose bones were found in home’s walls likely fell to death through attic floor, police say

I hope it's not the case, but her house is very close to the River Yare estuary, I assume a body placed into it would be pushed out into the channel.

He sounds a real charmer o_O poor lady. How on earth did she get tangled up with such a person? :(

Following extensive searches of Pat’s home address, partial human remains have been recovered.

I did think this might be the case as there wasn't really anywhere nearby you could move or hide a body without being seen. Especially without a car.

As detailed in earlier posts, she felt sorry for him as he was homeless and presumably felt motivated to offer him a roof over his head.

I still wonder if this man charged could be the one the police initially held - another 'man in his 40s' - in the Linda Hood case.

This Scott, as shown above, seems a well known misfit and miscreant to the local police. I am sure even if Linda Hood didn't know him, she would have seen him about the high street. Maybe they had reason to suspect his MO.

Just my speculation. Maybe we will hear as things progress.

I know that, but surely after him moving in she must've realised he was rather unpleasant. One of the media reports you've copied over says he argued with her for burning his spaghetti and she took refuge in a neighbour's house...Probably because of her age she didn't feel comfortable asking him to leave maybe?
