GUILTY UK - Phoenix Netts, 28, found in suitcase, Gloucestershire, 12 May 2020

So she may not have been killed at the refuge?

In some ways it does seem more likely that PN was killed elsewhere. This quote from the neighbour re paper thin walls.
But then why did the room/area look like an abbatoir ?

A neighbour said five women had been living at the property - but only four in recent weeks.
He said: 'There was a white British woman living in the front bedroom on the first floor but I haven't seen her in weeks. Definitely not in the last month.

'The strange thing is the walls are paper thin.

'If there was a fight, I'm just I would have heard it.

'That's what is baffling me.'

The area could have looked like an abbatoir from the sawing maybe?
It's all so bizarre. Why was poor Phoenix murdered in the first place? A random argument or something personal?

The whole case baffles me! If the neighbour could hear an argument he would have heard a circular saw.

Handyman Mahesh Sorithaya, 38, was described as a 'jack-of-all-trades' handyman by friends who stored tools in two transit vans usually seen outside his five-bed home in Wolverhampton, West Mids.

Ah. I don't think he was clueless as to what was going on somehow. I'm still confused by most of this story to be honest. So many questions

Not necessarily - remember the Becky Watts case where various friends of the killers hid bits of body and said they thought it was drugs they were hiding?

True but that looks unlikely in this case IMO

I agree.I too am confused about so many aspects of the story and find it hard to believe he did not know what the cases contained.

Maybe there was a freezer involved, and that cut down on the odour? Idk, those rooms/ flats were probably too small and temporary for a large freezer. Moo.

If those quotes in the earlier article are to be believed it sounded like the victim and accused had been arguing in the weeks prior. It is a women's refuge after all so they both could have had any number of mental/drug/abuse problems that they were dealing with.

Can anyone tell from that picture of Phoenix where it may have been taken? There's only one PN on facebook, it may possibly be her but it's pretty locked down and doesn't seem to have been updated since 2014.

My immediate thought was London on the Thames, but a local could probably correct me on that. Looks like she is sitting on DD bus or a boat. Moo.

Do you have the link to the earlier article, I must have missed that. Thanks.

Thanks for the link, rbbm..
''In a statement, West Midlands police said: “Exactly where Phoenix was killed is still unknown and officers continue to follow up a number of enquiries in a bid to establish what happened. Our specialist family liaison officers are working with the family at this devastating time.”

Police have not said where Phoenix was from. She is believed to be originally from Surrey.

DCI Scott Griffiths from the West Midlands homicide team said: “Firstly, I’d like to offer my sincere condolences to Phoenix’s family. We’ve worked closely with colleagues at Gloucestershire over the past week and our investigation continues at pace.

“We’d urge anyone with any information about the tragic loss of Phoenix’s life to get in touch with us.”

That was also my immediate thoughts. I will say that I can't find any Netts in the Birmingham or even West Mids area, they seem to be clustered across the country in a few specific places but no where near the west mids.

I am trying to find it now and can't o_O I'm sure I didn't imagine it. Unless I misread something!

No I remember reading that too. That the two women had been arguing before she went missing.

Yep, lots of Netts in the Croydon area.

A torso found in a suitcase in the Forest of Dean is feared to belong to a woman who has lived in a refuge but has not been seen “in weeks.”

Locals said a 20-year-old resident disappeared on April 14 after a series of arguments with another woman.

Torso cut in half can be a woman living in a refuge

Cheers Alyce! :)

Edit: It's probably just crap reporting as it is the daily hate mail but it says "Locals said a 20-year-old resident disappeared on April 14 after a series of arguments with another woman." - Maybe just locals guessing at age?
