Britain's Prince Andrew will stop using his Duke of York title after facing fresh questions over his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew, King Charles III's younger brother, said in a statement issued via Buckingham Palace that he would "no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me."

The decision was taken "in discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family," he said, after concluding that "the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family...

Why "fresh questions? "

What came up recently to make this happen?

Forced to stop using his title but has he stopped his bad behavior? (Rhetorical question, btw.)

There was the recent discussion IIUC of US officials with Ghislane Maxwell, and IIRC the recent visit of the president to the UK and meeting with the King. And there is now the just announced commutation of Santos’ sentence (on another thread here), I wonder if perhaps there has been some discussion. And whether any consideration of the IMO ‘disgraced’ former ‘Duke’ might have considered a trip abroad or to the US?

Hard not to wonder if seemingly unconnected events might actually have some relevance or interconnection perhaps? MOO

Jeffrey Epstein had multiple appointments, phone calls and dinners with Matthew Menchel — the Miami U.S. Attorney’s office chief criminal prosecutor who spearheaded Epstein’s sweetheart deal in 2007, newly released documents show. A tranche of over 8,500 pages of records from Epstein’s estate — released by the House Oversight Committee Friday — show that Epstein’s calendars and emails reflect that Menchel, who left the DOJ in 2008, had multiple meetings or dinners with Epstein in 2011, 2013 and 2017. Lawmakers also referred to a photograph of Menchel on a ski trip with Epstein sometime in the 2000s.

Andrew has always been a prick.

Fergie is no better.

If I was a British Taxpayer, I’d be livid that my taxes had been paying for his, and Fergie’s, lifestyle.

I feel sorry for their daughters. They will be forever tainted by their parents actions.
