@BeebJournalist: 4 police vans have just arrived at the family home of missing teenager Becky Watts. #FindBecky http://t.co/hrgqyIfrO2

4 large police vans seem a bit drastic.

Not a good sign, at all.

I thought exactly the same when I read it! Must be a reason for so many vans to be there!

I'm speculating their next step is luminal, if they haven't already.

If it was something that required 4 vans worth of officers or space then surely they'd have found it by now

I've just tweeted the journalist and asked why so many. He probably won't tell me but it's worth a try.

Quite rare I think, yes.

Can anyone think of a reason why they'd be 4 large police vans at the home? Seems a bit much. & why now?

Also, why are welsh officers also involved now?

  • #213
This might be tied to other cases and they found a large cache of evidence?

hmmm wonder what that's about? Glad the media picked up on dads facebook too, and about the white van that we had heard no mention of from LE.

For those of us who think this is hinky, you just have to look at twitter to see it's a common thought. Of course you can be totally wrong but I will be shocked if this has a happy ending :(

Did the parents take, and pass, a polygraph?

I don't think polygraphs form part of UK investigations. I have heard of convicted prisoners taking them to prove their innocence when appealing their convictions, but I think that is more of a privately organized thing. I'm sure they are not admissible in court as part of a prosecution. I'm happy to be corrected though.

I think the biggest problem for her parents, if they have no involvement, is that the picture they have painted of their daughter seems to differ massively to what is coming out now. I thought she was a shy, insecure and socially inept young lady, who rarely ventured from her home, unless accompanied. Now it seems that she had a troubled teenage period, bunked school, failed exams, had difficulties with her parents, and has "disappeared" before (or at least been gone a while without them knowing where she is). Why would anyone describe someone who is missing with no relevance to what they are really like, as surely that would impede the investigation?

Hope my initial suspicions are wrong though, and hope she comes home. Doesn't seem very hopeful :(

I wondered about the Welsh officers. It was specifically mentioned the officers were in Welsh uniforms.

Hmmm of the top of my head I can't think of many other cases in Bristol which are similar/could be relevant. You never know tho I guess!
