I see question 8 was answered whilst I was typing

While this may be true, something is different this time, IMO. The police and public weren't involved to this extent and millions of hinky meters weren't going bonkers.

Maybe never reported on other occasions?

All very good questions sar2them1984! Wish we had all the answers!

Totally agree MamaJoJo.

Just curious but has Becky got a brother? Going by a photo on Dad's fb it seems she has, anyone seen any mention of him?

What makes them report it this time then that's so different from the other occasions? That's what I'm wondering. Gone for longer than usual this time maybe?

And, where does the 11.15 am timing on Thursday Feb 19 come from ? It is being quoted frequently as being the time that Becky left her home, but there is no info as to why this is a fact

Brother Danny ....... her mother is quoted as saying that she ( Becky ) also went missing on brother Danny's 20th birthday ( doesnt say when that was _

Stepmum left for a hospital appointment at 10:30am. Dad was at work. Where do they get 11:15am from? She read a text from best friend Courtney 9 minutes before she was last seen apparently. Read it but never replied.

I have another Q, if it was Becky's time of the month, are there tampons/pads in the home, or missing? I know that might be a hard one to judge but those things are essential to have with you.

Perhaps, other times, she was only away for an overnight and came home next day, or at least let them know where she was ...

That's what I thought :)

Mum pleads for daughter to come home
Becky's mother Tanya Watts has today pleaded with her daughter to come home.

Tanya, who lives nearby, says she used to see her daughter regularly with Becky's best mate Courtney Bicker, 17.

Isn't this contradictory to what was said earlier? Wasn't it said Becky had little to no contact with her bio mum?

  • #273
Seems to be lots of contradictions in this story, but could just be news reports, rushing to get something into print, and then back checking and finding out the facts are somewhat different...

  • #274
Yes it was said Becky has less contact with her mum who lives elsewhere in Bristol. May see her regularly like for example on weekends but not as much as Becky sees her dad/stepmum? So many contradictions in this story! Family member said they reported her missing straight away but was told to wait but police said the FIRST time was 28 hours after she was last seen. Disappearence is apparently out of character yet grandad and mum said she's disappeared before.

If she has gone off before maybe this time she had a better plan, idk. Maybe she didn't take her purse and debit card because she didn't want to be found, maybe she took her laptop, tablet and phone to sell for cash, idk. The police activity points to something else IMHO but again, idk... So confusing, and then my gut feeling

Mum told daughter she loved her

Tanya's final conversation with Becky ended with her telling her she loved her.

She said: "Becky lived with Darren but she used to come up here with Courtney quite a lot.

"The hard thing is that she'd come up a couple of weekends on the trot. She'd say 'mum I'm starving', she'd eat then she'd take some pocket money.

"She'd be on the computer, playing on her phones then off she'd go. Always with Courtney. She hasn't come here on her own for a long time.

"It's got to be at least three weeks since last Thursday that I've seen her.

"I rang her on February 8, I said what you doing. She said 'chilling' and I could hear Courtney in the background.

"I could tell she didn't want to speak so I said 'ok then darling, carry on chilling, I love you'.

"Now I feel awful, that's the last time I spoke to her. She seemed so happy. Now it's just waiting."

Someone asked about parents taking Polygraphs? That doesn't happen in the UK. And the Welsh police may be there as help to Avon Police. Bristol is right next to the Welsh border. The Severn Bridge goes from just north of Bristol to Wales.

My hinky meter is blaring at the moment. Dad's FB message, the missing technology (laptop, mobile phone and tablet have all conveniently disappeared), no clothes taken, no make up taken, no toothbrush taken, absolutely no contact with friends or family at all. I don't think she's dusappeared of her own free will.

  • #278
Either do I. Why not take a change of clothes? Or makeup? Or toothbrush? If you wanted to disappear but drag your phone tablet & laptop with you. Doesn't make any sense. She could have packed it all up when step mum had left for the hospital. Her dad also said she won't go out the house without looking nice & with all her make up on yet she's left it all behind.

Hmm is the use of the word "phones" typo or did she have more than one?

Quick search if moms adress shows she lives relatively close to Becky - approx 2 miles
