Seriously.. It's like NM is reading the script for a really cheap, cringy black comedy about a crime that went wrong and he had to dispose of the body. If this wasn't so heinous and tragic it would be laughable.

Bumbled the kidnap. Check
Unintentionally killed the victim. Check
Fumbled hiding the body then tried to act normal. Check
Failed first attempt at disposing of body with drain cleaner. Check
Enlisted group of dodgy mates to help hide body parts. Check
Crumbled into emotinal wreck at first sign of forensic evidence. Check
Explanation for all above is laughable at times, filled with holes and inconsistencies. Check
He was only trying to do the right thing for everyone. Check
Story ends with perp(s) hauled off to jail for life.. Pending

Here in my opinion lies all about his distortion of the facts and the way he is covering for his rotten girlfriend. He is so convinced he can manipulate everyone... And, like all liars and manipulators, he goes on saying lies mixed with truth and assertive frases to make it more real and convincing.

This sentence of him today tells it all for me -

After hearing of forensic evidence, Nathan says

"I could've carried on lying... I could've easily explained anything"

I have all the trial until now saved in word documents. It is by days, in chronological order with what happened each day bolded and also the names of each witness, etc.

Are any of you interested in it? If so, how do I pass it here?

lol I have even the doc for tomorrow - the 29th - prepared ;)

[h=3]'I've always had the fantasy of a threesome with two girls'[/h]Talking about the threesome Matthews and Hoare shared with another woman, he told the jury: “That was one of my fantasies.
“Because I was into it, it all just kind of happened.
“Shauna was worried about if I looked at the other woman more than her.
“If I developed feelings.
“I’m always sexually frustrated. Even if me and Shauna have sex one night I can use the phone and watch 🤬🤬🤬🤬.”
Mr Mousley: “How did you fancy three-way sex with a teenage girl in February this year?”
Matthews: “I’ve always had the fantasy of a threesome with two girls.

“It wasn’t a teenage girl when I was talking about the threesome. I didn’t try to hide it like a dirty little secret, kind of thing.
“I wouldn’t turn round and say ‘ah can I have a threesome, can I have a threesome’ every year or every month.
“It was just one of my fantasies.
“If Shauna had a fantasy of a threesome with a bloke I probably wouldn’t be able to.”

But SH said that she wished he would meet someone else and leave her. Surely she'd welcome him having feelings for someone else, maybe even encourage it?

Here is something that jumped out to me after reading everything today:

- was there a mention early on about NM having possible ADD/autism? - or was that about someone else in this case?

not directly related to your post but for some reason it made me think of something else. There is one line that really stands out for me in Shauna's police interviews following their arrests. She says wtte "he thought he had covered his tracks so well" or something like that.

I cannot think of an innocent explanation for it.

I can... you only have to tell me how! :)

It is all from the 'UK and Eire database...' I find it useful because it has noting more than the texts of what has been said. It's very easy to read and to look for things in each day of the trial.

I'll no doubt get shouted at for this, but I believe what he says about their relationship more than I believe Shauna.

(I wrote a lot more explaining, but deleted it !)

I think it's JI. It isn't NM.

You shouldn't get shouted at for having your own opinion, that's what makes this thread tedious at times. I know exactly what you mean.

Pitch that script overview to BBC Three and they'd probably give you a three series deal.

Been out all day and missed it all. Going to sit with a cuppa and catch up soon, but just wondering something because I've forgotten: how/why/when did the police discover what had happened and where Becky's body was? Did they arrest NM and he told them or did someone else tip them off?

You need to create a google account, then go to Google Docs.

here are the steps to make a public folder - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WgI8GMo47XU-RWgkDf4_m7P5hiTkiTCc4t06V9WIK2E/edit?pli=1

Doesn't look too hard, but might take a few minutes to do.

yes, NM told them. Police said they had no link to Barton Court before that.

I think he told them once they presented him with forensic evidence - the bloody fingerprint in BW's house perhaps?

The bloody fingerprints from Crown Hill are what led to NM/SH being arrested on suspicion of kidnap.

On 2nd March NM asked if they had found any forensic evidence from CML. The police said they had found blood but forensic analysis was ongoing. At that point, he wrote his original confession.

Ironically, it turns out that blood was actually his own. There was no blood/DNA from Becky found in CML.

(Yes, I know the mirror 11:00 live update headline says "'I broke down' - Matthews after police found Becky's blood" but I don't believe that's correct)

I've always wondered how they knew right away that the bloody fingerprints were NM's. Supposedly he doesn't have a police record, so what did they compare the fingerprints to in order to know they were his?
