She didn't know its other uses yet he says he bought one for her. Also surely hed' have explaine dthe other use in case she accidentally ended up using the stungun part.

yes, their child could have picked it up to play with, especially since she probably lived in that room with them. and I thought he bought them for THEIR protection.

they'd only owned the stun gun since January. talks about it as if it was longer. also they stopped to buy batteries - would they have run out already after a month's occasional use as a torch? could have been the other one though.

I want pros to ask what the batteries they bought that morning were for and if he was driving did she put the batteries in "something"?

Snipped by me

Hopefully he wasn't always chopping bodies up in the bathroom.

Will they ask if he always behaved the same way when the toilet blocked (ie door locked, bleach everywhere) or was it different this time?

This was exactly my first thought when I read that information. Goodness, that would be awful. However, he had such trouble disposing of BW that, you'd think if he had done this before he'd have a system down (that didn't involve JI et al).

Or could be that they knew they would need to use both stun guns on that particular day

Often? Not in my experience. Occasionally maybe but I don't think it's common.

Well ... I did it! And I wouldn't describe myself as bisexual, I would never have a threesome with my boyfriend as the resulting jealousy would destroy our relationship. But then he's also not interested in it. When you drill down into it I do think A LOT of young girls do this (having attended an all girls school, I can attest that I was not the only one, either).

So SH * made up * ( ie; lied ) about spotting teenage girls and being willing to bring them home for NM - simply to put him in a good mood.

What a very strange relationship.

I don't believe it (in Victor Meldrew voice)

She instigated those messages. you don't do that if you don't like your partner's behaviour. put him in a good mood my 🤬🤬🤬.

You might do if he is becoming increasingly abusive and mentally unstable and it's the only thing you can think of that might cheer him up a bit, however.

The thought has crossed my mind. They didn't have the saw before though.

He mentioned he planned to drive to the sea, to put the body parts in the sea presumably. If this had happened before the difference now would be police were involved from an early stage and he was one of the two people to see/hear her last so he was going to be under suspicion straight away. Whereas if he'd done it before, to somebody unrelated, he wouldn't be under suspicion straight away and could have disposed of the body much easier, without needing to cut it up and hide it.

Personally, seeing his reaction I don't think he'd done it before, at least not the dismembering. He's up for another sexual assault and voyeurism charge that doesn't involve SH so it will be interesting to hear what happened there and his modus operandi.

There came a time when she and Matthews helped her mother three or four times a week, she said.

Nathan was "yes and no happy" about her re-establishing contact with her family, the court heard.

Eventually the pair ended up living at Cotton Mill Lane in Barton Hill.

She told the court: "My house was paid for by benefits which entitled me to live there, not an extra person.

"Any legal paperwork he would give a different address.

"I was having regular contact with my social worker. Nathan rarely came with me."

She confirmed they had separate bank accounts, but Matthews would have control of funds without discussing it.

Hoare: He'd use light on stun gun in the bedroom rather than turn on main light

I'm not buying her story.
Just cause NM has made it very clear his plan was totally secret and that SH would be appalled. And that for last 2 months he had been planning to kidnap becky using the stun guns.

So why wouldn't he hide the stun guns from SH? Instead he leaves one lying around, presumably on bedside table where she could discover their other use inadvertently, even harm herself or their child.

(Pls correct me if I am wrong. )

did she say he was becoming increasingly abusive in Dec/Jan?

I'll say "not uncommon" then. I've heard, and read of, many women mentioning this kind of experience over the years.

ETA, ah I see Callista agrees with me. It wouldn't be an everyday topic of conversation (!) :rolling:

Hoare said she knew that Matthews watched 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 - but she did not watch it with him.

She added that she was not aware of a video showing a teenager being raped which was found on a laptop in their home by police.

Hoare was then asked about Matthews' attitude towards pretty, teenage girls.

She said: "Occasionally he would make inappropriate comments, saying how he would like to have sex with them. He would generally say: 'I would give them a go'."

Hoare said she did not like the comments.

Hoare referred to a video clip entitled "Do You Want to Hide A Body?", which both she and Matthews found funny.

Ah maybe at an all girls school its different. I went to a mixed school.. we had real boys to practice on so we didn't need girls lol.

If shes going down that "submissive people pleaser" route the pros will ask just how far she was prepared to go to cheer him up. Texts about other girls... threesomes... what next?

His mental health had been declining, hoarding getting progressively worse & he'd visited the doctor etc (wall punching episode). Correct me if I'm wrong someone but I don't think we've been told the date of when this visit occured.

But she also said the relationship had been better recently

For some girls I think it's less threatening as well - more like practice :). In my case it could've been because I went to an all girl's school and had no brothers / a very female dominated family so I was somewhat scared of boys until I was about 16, I had very little contact with them, lol. But I can imagine it might be the same for other girls who may be shy etc

[h=3]'It was meant sarcastically - I have a sarcastic nature'[/h]The messages between Matthews and Hoare mentioned “little sweet 16-year-olds” and “blonde schoolgirls”, the jury heard.
Three messages in December talked about a 16-year-old girl who worked at a Chinese takeaway.
Hoare said: “I knew he found her attractive.”
The jury heard another message Hoare sent to Matthews talked about her bringing teenage girls back to their attic.
Hoare said: “It was meant sarcastically, I have a very sarcastic nature. It wasn’t an actual idea.
“I thought they were completely harmless, inappropriate comments and I could get him in a good mood.
“Sometimes I would make things up to get him in a good mood.”

Another message Hoare sent to Matthews said: “Just went to Costcutters.... saw a very pretty teenage girl....almost brought her home”.
Hoare told the jury she had been to Costcutters but she made up the message.

So, not "sent" to Costcutters. Sounds like she was telling him where she had been - which suggests she had the opportunity to go out on her own, to a place of her choice.
