S'ok, don't be sorry :)

I just thought it was fragmented, as if she was not continuing on with a memory. Like it was a separate thing she had rehearsed, I was in the kitchen, I did this and that. Rather than we came back up and went into the kitchen, my daughter went into the living room and I got a drink and washed my hands when...

Another thing, presumably she would also wash her daughter's hands after they'd been in the rabbit hutch, but that's by the bye.
Hmmm well, I'm a bit of a hand-wash fanatic, when I had my son almost 7 years ago after having 3 girls I got lots of advice from my mum of sons friends and I've got my boy into the habit of hand washing but I know a LOT of people who aren't so on the ball with it!

You know, I think this case is sending us all a bit doolally :D I think from what the news reports were initially we sort of got an idea which has turned out to be so far from what NM & SH say happened.
Nathan's story particularly are so ... odd that it could almost be the truth! and we've all been waiting during the trial for the smoking gun BOOM! Here's your forensic evidence for Shauna and it hasn't materialised that now we're all sitting trying to glean the tiniest detail that makes it all of a sudden make some sense ...

I'm sorry but no one's background, whether they have led the most privileged upbringing or was dragged up from the streets, should be an excuse for undertaking such a vile and violent act..

Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

I completely agree. There is no excuse at all.

Extracts from SH first voluntary interview Thursday 26th Feb. Bolded parts for analysis.

policeman : "Yeah, OK, and immediately before this sound of the door slamming, what could you hear then?"

SH : Um I think it was just CBBs again to be honest, I was kind of more you know trying to make sure the vitamins back and getting my drink, um, NO, I heard stomping down the stairs, cos that's what made me think that Becky had left in a mood (looking) cos I said to Anjie cos I said door slammed I wasn't sure if that was the wind, I took it because there was like quite STOMP, STOMP, STOMP down the stairs I assumed, you know, she was in a bit of one of her tantrums." (laughing)
.

Ahhhh *sound of penny dropping*. I'd misheard where she says just CBeebies. I thought she said just CD music! Meaning she could still hear Becky's music but if its cbeebies she can hear then presumably the musics stopped(if it was ever on at all). For all we know Becky may have been lying down in bed, napping and not listening to music at all when the attack happened. Think the friend she'd had the sleepover said they'd stayed up all night listening to music or playing computer games, if so, she would be tired.

Maybe SH didn't want friends coming round, not because of the state of the house, but because she didn't want Nathan lusting after them...so much so that she'd rather they lived in a bubble. However within that bubble was a younger female, Becky, that was a constant reminder of the jealousy and anger that she harboured after years of NM's perpetual lusting after younger women...

If she was of this mindset I don't think it would have taken much for her to become an aggressor or egg-on an escalation in whatever bullying and violence occurred that day.

MOO

A few thoughts about these photos I just posted:

We can all probably agree that this level of hoarding is often symptom of MH issues.
NM says SH gave him ultimatum about clearing some of the stuff. But we don't know the detail, or if that's true I suppose.
With this level of junk and small child I am surprised Social Services were not involved, but maybe by then SH wasn't meeting her SWorker at home ever ? ( Anyway these things incl not having a TV licence, not wanting others to see the state of how they lived with a child there, the benefits fraud that he didn't live there at all, and on and on they must have had a dreadful existence there and maybe this contributed to his paranoia/MH issues?)

If those scenes of total clutter are mirrored in the loft I doubt how they could have had a serious plan to kidnap anyone and “keep them in the attic”

Finally, if we believe NM Gran and the NM hoarding got worse when he started to see SH, how can this hoarding mean SH also had MH issues? I heard about the anti-depressants but it's unclear how long they were prescribed for her – surely not as long as they have been dating – 7 years or so. Consequently how did SH put up with his hoarding and them living “out of two rooms” as he described to the police in the Mirror article? She put up with it or knew no better or what?

I was going to add that it's no wonder they lived on take-aways, but actually the kitchen and living room are clearer than the rest of the rooms.

My opinion is that Nathan's hoarding became worse after he got with Shauna because hoarding is about control and the fear of losing something or not having it - after meeting Shauna he became scared of losing her and his hoarding worsened because his anxiety was increased ... if that makes sense?

yes, I think you're right. it is definitely a puzzle because we haven't got anywhere near the truth still at this stage.

imagine, we could be dealing with one who admits manslaughter but didn't actually kill Becky or want her dead at all, and one who denies all knowledge of anything being the one who did it!!

I'm not sure NM took body parts out of the loft. He said he took some stuff out of the loft - the saw for example. Not sure if he would have risked handing cling film wrapped body parts to KD to put in a suitcase but who knows.

Also the missing cheque seems to have been in the loft aswell.

I would have hoped, especially after the Tia Sharp case, the loft got as much forensic attention as the rest of the house.

I am far behind so a bit out of sequence here. Was it impossible for him to have used the saw in their kitchen or what they call the front room??
I have thought he may have tried to drain the body in the bath (slash marks), but - and here's the rub - it would have been easier downstairs but then that completely refutes SH's reasons for knowing nothing.
The loft is difficult access, but he could have done it downstairs ( or in his shed), we only know what he's telling us and that could be to save SH ?

No wonder they wanted to spend time at other people's houses!
Seriously, I wondered about the dog bowls and the 2 different coloured drainers in the two sink photos.

Do you have a link pic handy of SH kitchen? I could only find close-up of their sink with the pink drainer

particularly with his history of having 'lost' his mum at age 7, being moved to live with his grandmother or living with his mother and his grandmother and then his mother leaving to live with DG. one of those scenarios.

Or could also be that he didn't have his grandmother to clear up after him anymore. Maybe she kept his hoarding tendencies in check while he lived there but once he lived away from her he could hoard as much as he wanted

What's your view on why SH put up with this level of mess. ( In my original post.) Considering the stuff about them only using to rooms he said.
Do you know if she did most of the childcare as I don't know how anyone can manage a toddler in this scenario?

Gosh it's taking so long to load pages for me - so many cookies on here.

As soon as I finished last post I found this one from Bristol news

Better identification of CML vs CL.

No room in Shauna's kitchen to move.
Quite surprised no junk in the garden at all - photo 34
A lounge in name only
I thought that was unsual too but if he valued all the clutter, maybe he didn't want it getting wet in the garden?

ETA toddler ride on toys and a slide and what looks like it could be a pop up kids tent, that most people would keep outside or in the shed, are kept in the lounge instead too. It's not like there's room to use them in thee either. It's like somebody took outdoor toys from out of the garden and dumped them in the lounge in a big pile! Theres even a stack of tyres in the lounge rather than outside. Yet the gardens empty!

He wasn't supposed to be living there, so a garden full of clutter might draw attention to this - even if just complaints about the mess from the neighbours.
