Couldn't they have just been a part of his fancy dress outfit?

my son has a pair of the fancy dress ones. you can get them off very easily with your hands behind your back.

Has anyone got a definitive timeline to hand? I'm getting my facts mixed up!

Specifically the dates relating to the police and SH/NM's house. Thank you.

  • #863
Couldn't they have just been a part of his fancy dress outfit?

Of course they could. The pair in the photo of Haloween may not even be the same pair he says he used on Becky, they may have been a cheap fake toy replica type unless you have seen it reported elsewhere. He may have two pairs? He had 2 stun guns after all.

As an aside I just found a clearer quote on those other charges:

“Avon and Somerset Police said the pair have also been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and four counts of making indecent images of children.

Matthews has also been charged with sexual assault and voyeurism. The alleged sexual offences do not relate to Becky.”
Presuming stun gun is in that charge.
Time will tell on this.

I am more convinced than ever that she didn't get her dates wrong.

If the neighbour is right, there was someone in at CML that day. Can't remember the times off hand (11-2?) but it covered the period when NM/SH were at Becky's house with AG, this is very easily verifiable by AG and SH - did NM leave at any point? And if he really didn't, who was in their house??? I'm surprised more hasn't been made of this little nugget of information (on here, and in "real" life)

AG didn't get back until 12:45. There was time for them to get back to CML (8 mins journey by car) and return to CH before AG got there.

Reason for returning - to give their account that Becky had gone out, carry on as normal (no kidnap going on) and see if anything was reported to police IMO.

Strange and the thread users have been following this trial for a while?
Has it been withheld? Makes no sense.

If it was logged at all it would of been at the beginning of the trial when the Court was hearing the evidence against NM & SH. But straight off the top of my head I can't recall. Strange.... annoyingly so.

WS is awful tonight. Almost impossible to post anything.

As an aside, is there a reason posters are on first name terms with the people involved? People being referred to as Shauna and Nathan rather than SH & NM. I thought it was a WS ToS thing to use initials but maybe not.
I wasn't aware of it being a rule that we had to use initials, had a quick look at TOS and didn't find it ... however I did realise I have inadvertently broken a rule by pointing out to Warwicks that I'd pm'd them though in the spirit of transparency, it was a pm about our parnell teenage parenting not related to the case.

I wonder if mods could clarify if using initials is a 'rule' or a suggestion?

Glad we are returning back to this :)
Neighbour Webb est 11am - 2pm
OneDrive TL says AG returns 12.45 ( dunno how reliable)
11.03 Last text from BW
Zafira on CCTV going to CL - it says moments "just before he killed her "
12.10 Luke texts Becky, undelivered so phone off.
Max window - 1hr ? to assault or kill BW, poss leave , poss return ( Tortoise upthread has mentioned an 8 min journey time calculated, to get back to CML)

Is there CCTV footage of them leaving & returning in that time window. Surely, if they travelled the same route, cops would have scanned all. I am sure you have all discussed this before on here.

When did Path est time of death - unknown- appreciate those times are never accurate but still would help.....

Tortoise has posted Mirror account of neighbours testimony earlier.

Here is DM version - this is the row - implies they went together 11-2pm??
The court was told today that a neighbour of the couple heard an unusual amount of noise coming from their home on both the day prosecutors say Becky died and the following day.
Sarah Webb, who lives next door to the couple, said she heard a noise which sounded like a suitcase being dragged across the floor.
She told the court: 'There was shouting and screaming between Shauna and Nathan.
'They were very, very quiet people. We never heard bumps or banging or people on the stairs. We often thought that they weren't actually in.
'

ETA: Please note the row part of neighbour's account is THE NIGHT BEFORE BECKY VANISHES. It was imposs to edit it for ages due to server issues. DMail and Western Daily Press account differs

http://www.westerndailypress.co.uk/...hews-Hoare-s/story-27946980-detail/story.html
"A next-door neighbour of murdered Becky Watts' stepbrother and girlfriend has told a court the couple were screaming the night before the teenager went missing.

Sarah Webb, a next-door neighbour of Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare, described the couple as usually "very, very quiet''.

"They were never friendly and didn't want to talk," she said.

She described hearing noises in the evening of February 18 – the day before Becky went missing from her home.
"There was shouting and screaming between Shauna and Nathan," Mrs Webb said.

"It was early evening, I was putting my little one to bed so it was between 6 and 7 maybe. It was for more than half an hour. It was very unusual.

"They were very, very quiet people. We never heard bumps or banging or people on the stairs. We often thought that they weren't actually in."

Loving the timeline Clio. Thank you!

I'm wondering about this part

10.50am - NM and SH drive towards Becky's home. They stop at Tesco to buy batteries.
11.03am - Becky sends her last text. She is killed and her body, phone and laptop are put in the boot of NM and SH’s Vauxhall Zafira parked on the driveway.
12:10pm LO leaves dentist and tries to text Becky but message was not delivered.

There was an article quoting NM as saying he was going to use beckys phone and pretend to be here. To keep up the pretence that she was OK. I wonder if there were any texts before that 11.05 one and whether it was NM sending the 11.05 text. By 12.10 when LO texts it looks NM/SH have turned her phone off anyway but we haven't heard where her phone was when switched off and I believe it's possible to tell .

ETA link http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/615611/Becky-Watts-killer-crime-case-trial-pretending-to-be-her

THE STEPBROTHER of Becky Watts considered pretending to be her and messaging loved ones after killing the teen. Nathan Matthews said he toyed with the idea so family members would have thought the 16-year-old had just left home, following her disappearance.

Matthews, who admits the killing but claims it is accidental, said he thought about taking possessions from the home to make the story believeable. The 28-year-old said: "I would have to go back and obviously get the items, but I didn't know what to do with the items or how to message her family - my family - and let them know she was fine, 'I'm happy, I'm off somewhere'."

2nd part Webb neighbour :

The following day, in the afternoon, Mrs Webb said she heard further noises from the flat.
She said: 'There was lots of running up and down the stairs very, very quickly, banging, slamming doors, scraping, furniture being moved, a suitcase being rolled across a wooden floor which was upstairs.

'I remember thinking it was annoying because I wanted to put my little one down for a nap and with the banging she was finding it difficult to sleep.
'It sounded like the bed was being lifted across the floor, like something heavy was being dragged. It was unusual, we never heard anything from them.

AFAIK No specific time of death has ever been given

@ColorPurple too

They can tell when a phone is switched off in relation to cell phone towers ( and when it moves between towers as it is transported ) but it doesn't look like this was done by the IT forensics or simply not testified in court.

I do not think it would be possible to be very specific, in the circumstances. It's not an exact science at the best of times.

Wow so just 3 minutes after sending the last text she's not replying. The 11.03 text could well be NM or SH then, maybe Courtney texting threw him/her and decided just to switch it off.

Ah. So it could have told exactly when they took the phone (and possibly Becky) from Becky's to their's

I wonder why Becky's tablet was smashed.

did she film them bursting into her room I wonder?

Also from the same article -

Monday, February 23:
Police try to get into Cotton Mill Lane in the morning. The curtains were drawn and no one answers the door.
6pm: Officers go back to Cotton Mill Lane. They are not home. They ring the couple and try to persuade them to return home and let them into their property so it can be searched. They agree to talk to officers at Southmead instead as they won't come back to Cotton Mill Lane, saying they have dinner plans.

They must have been bricking it at this point. Or he must've at least. What on earth could they have done if the police had said "right, we'll just get a warrant and come round while you're out"? I'm sure this must have raised the police's suspicions.

I was just curious- other posters have been doing it too. Usually, it's only the victim who is referred to by name and everyone else by initials. At least on threads that I've followed before, mainly related to UK crimes. I thought it was a ToS thing or something to do with anonymity and wondered why it was different in this case.

Initials work for me a lot of the time, it's a timesaver, but they can be confusing when there are people involved with the same or similar initials. Also when people have a nickname, eg Rebecca/Becky: some might use RW, others BW. Then there are people who use more than one surname, eg Shauna Hoare or Phillips. So sometimes it's good to use the actual names for clarity. It can be quite hard work reading a paragraph where lots of different people are mentioned using initials only.
