Still on the idea of why not just use JIs car, rather than go back for a van.

Correct me if I've got this wrong, but I think the only CCTV footage the police had from CML was of two people moving the box from the house to the van.

So, if they had just used the car ( even two trips ) they would have got the move done faster and earlier in the evening ........and therefore not been caught on CCTV.

The prosecution alleges James Ireland was offered £5,000 to help move Becky’s body parts and searched online for holidays to the Dominican Republic the day after moving the boxes and suitcases on February 24.

Ireland says the searches were for a present for his girlfriend’s 21st birthday and were nothing to do with an alleged payout for helping Matthews.

He tells the court: “If I knew a crime had taken place I wouldn’t have got involved at the start, or half way through, or at the end.”

If they knew NM, and knew he spent a lot of his time at his mum's house, I'd find it odd that he wasn't storing his few 'suitcases of clothes' there. Or even just leaving them in his car.

I think they believed they were storing drugs or stolen property, but this story is to make them/him look totally innocent of all charges relating to assisting an offender. Stupid ploy, as they are making themselves appear (perhaps) more guilty than they are.

Just admit you thought you were hiding stolen goods or drugs and take the punishment for that!

I think KD probably knew but I can believe JI agreed to jsut give them a lift , like he normally did for people, then got caught up in it when a lift changed to moving stuff as well. The only part I struggle with is the 5k mention, if he mentioned 5k payment to a friend and was talking with KD about earning money that he was going to spend on a holiday to that , then it looks like at some point after agreeing just to give them a lift, he may have been offered extra money. I wonder how he'd stand legally if he agreed just to give them a lift, then agreed to move some stuff thinking he'd been chucked out and then afterwards KD said "Look he's said he's gonna give me 10k for storing his stuff, you can have X amount". If that were the case, he wouldn't have even suspected anything dodgy till after he'd done the moving.

Thanks sar2them1984. I've lived in the UK and sometimes forget how much more expensive it is for many things than America.

So are you suggesting that James Ireland had an inexpensive data plan? That would make sense.
It may be as someone else has pointed out that JI has an unlimited data plan or KDs data allowance have run out.

I'm guessing that as JI says he watches a lot of sport and TV on his phone that he has an unlimited data plan

Haven't got time to dig out the link atm but at 2.19am they have CCTV is of a van moving between CML and BC with light coming on by the garden shed and CCTV at 2.31am the white van is seen heading back towards Filton

If NM's supposedly requested it, maybe it was to give SH time to do some final packing? Or maybe something simple like NM thinking the big plastic box wouldnt fit in the boot or back of a normal car and it's not like he could take the stuff out of the box if they suggested that.

Even though it's not relevant anymore, I wonder what NM was planning.... the body parts couldn't remain in storage for long. Hire a van and take the lot in one trip or take them separately in his car and distribute them around the countryside? Or ask his mates for help again, costing more money?
A trip to the sea apparently

I would very much like to know about the "tense"atmosphere in the car when JI drove NM & SH from Southmead to CML; what was said/done that gave JI that impression?

If JI was offered money afterwards it would have been before 25th Feb. Why would he need to be offered money after the fact if all he had thought he was moving was clothes? Do we know when the Snapchat messages were that JI sent saying "is this the kiddies house?". Was he offered money to keep quiet because he was asking too many questions?

On February 25 Ireland recalled speaking to Simon Knight about moving packages

I think he said he knew KD from working with him in the past so he might not know his family set up, sounds like he didn't even know he was Becky's sister.

With the knowledge we have, his grandmothers , that he gave as his offical address and where he used to live would make most sense if he had really been thrown out.

He could have thought he was moving clothes and then afterwards KD, maybe feeling a bit guilty that he was getting 10k, offered him some money. At that point he'd done the move not thinking anything of it was dodgy but then might have felt suspicious once he was offered money... by which time it was too late as he'd already donw the move.

Didn't NM know KD from working at Dominos together? We have heard that SH/NM went to a party at KD/JP's at some point and I have also read that SH had JP as a FB friend. Sorry bit rushed so will have to find link later

me too. Is pros questioning him yet? Or is it still one of the other defendents lawyers?

The funny thing is, it fits the story of NM hastily moving his belongings out that night, JI believing that was the case.

Will JP and KD give evidence, I wonder.

Yup that was it , Dominoes. So wouldn't necessarily know the family NM never lived or grew up with.

BIB Yes indeed ! - good point.

I wonder .......... was this another part of the plan ? NM wanted it to look as though there was an atmosphere between him and SH, so that the subsequent story of him being thrown out would be believable to JI ( assuming KD knew the real story ).

Or did he fit it to the story. Notices there's a tense atmosphere. Drops them off. Is told SH has thrown NM out and so thinks "Ah so that's why the atmosphere was tense" When it could have been for a completely different reason.

And then every now and then with SH saying he was packing up stuff to "move" I wonder WAS he planning to move? WAS she throwing him out? If so what happened?

Really? If JI was offered money afterwards, it was to shut him up imo. KD has admitted he thought he was storing drugs.

Prosecutor William Mousley QC told the court: "Karl Demetrius says he believed it was cannabis but became increasingly suspicious that the contents related to Becky Watts.
