He might be telling the truth that he was expecting a tenner when he went to give them a lift but I reckon after that at some point he was offered some money. KD has pleaded guilty so I'm waiting to hear his take on it.

Seems so. It's funny that we all were thinking that through his testimony he came across as believable. It seems though, given the conflicting evidence, that he's not that truthful after all.

Sorry but if we are to believe JI's story about NM getting kicked out house by SH in the early hours of the morning, going to the trouble and time of moving his 'belongings' would they not have questioned why after moving the stuff he then returned home to SH?? Surely they would be asking 'got a place to stay mate? We'll take the stuff there' Unless he lied about where he then went to stay that night?? I'm so confused!!

Good point. Maybe NM returned to CML after JI and KD returned to work so JI didn't know? Is there evidence that JI drove NM back to CML? Since they lived so close to each other, I would think NM would have walked home after dropping off the packages.

There was some part of JI's statement where they (NM JI KD)are in the van and are deciding where to take it and JI says he suggested KDs. Maybe NM just said he needed it moved urgently and then that he was going back to try to sort things out with SH.

I think if I'd have been offered £5,000 to move and store MN's stuff due to him being kicked out, I would have thought the money was to cover the removal and storage of the entire contents of the house once I'd seen the place.

Yes it is a good point and it might seem logical for KD and JI to at least ask NM if he needed a lift somewhere.
But, if it is true that it was only JI who thought NM was being kicked out ( because KD knew the real story that he was storing something dodgy and getting 10K for doing so ) then perhaps JI just didnt think to ask NM where he was going.
After all, he didnt know NM so for all he knew, NM might have a relative living round the corner. One who had no storage space of course !

If he has been in court all this time, listening to the horrific evidence, I can see why he changed his story to distance himself from it all (especially if he really didn't didn't know what he was helping to move).

That said, I'm disappointed that his testimony didn't provide more answers. And I'm disappointed that he seems to be just as fond of lying as the rest of them so far.

A little later on she sent another message which read, “cool that’s a deposit on a house”. When they arrived at Cotton Mill Lane, Ireland told the court “the male” – whose name he did not know – went in first, followed by Karl, then him.

But, Ireland said, he did not want to enter Cotton Mill Lane, due tot he smell and the clutter.
The smell and the state of the house, I stayed close to the door way, I didn’t move.

It wasn’t very inviting, I didn’t really want to go in.

I was just waiting, I stood there, next to the fridge freezer at the front door. I was just on my phone, on the internet, just texting, that kind of thing.

They went upstairs, the light wasn’t on, I couldn’t see what they were doing. They were up there for about 20 to 25 minutes.

I thought he was helping him with his stuff. He said when they came back downstairs Karl stayed in the hallway, while Matthews went into the lounge, for 10 to 15 minutes.

Ireland said the first he had heard the Matthews had taken items from the freezer was when he had given evidence in court.
That’s when we put the bags and the box into the van, and I said where are we going? - The court heard Ireland suggested Demetrius’ home, just a few metres away, and the trio set off there.
We then took the bags and the box out of the van and took it into 9 Barton Court. Ireland said the box had clothing on top, and he never looked underneath to see what else was in the box.

He added he didn’t unzip the suitcases and had no reason to do so, as he passed them into the kitchen.

He said he stayed in the kitchen to smoke a cigarette, while Matthews and Demetrius went into the living room.

The court heard Ireland and Demetrius left soon after, going straight back to work.

What does that even mean? So he did think it was drugs, not helping NM move?

NM went with KD and JI to get the van ( at Airbus in Filton ). so it is feasible that during that time - at least half an hour , probably more, SH could have put child down and gone to bed herself.

Nothing yet re the shouting.

Re why so long at CML - Im also puzzled, unless NM was moving stuff into the suitcases. Plus climbing up into the loft, in the dark, might have been tricky ( said with a chuckle )
