£5000 seems kind of a lot just for helping to move the stuff, doesn't it? If they thought it was stolen goods or drugs, most of the risk would be on KD, JP and DD, who were actually storing them. Is it likely those three would have agreed to split £5000 between them while JI would get £5000 just for himself? Seems odd.

What does that even mean? So he did think it was drugs, not helping NM move?

I think it just means in his story to his mate he said the imaginary drugs could be worth 20k

But nobody got paid.

My interpretation of this - he didn't get the money, there is no proof of the money in an account or friends and family noticing, so he wasn't offered the money. Doesn't work that way......

Mmmm, not a very good answer is it. Just because he didnt get the money, doesnt mean it wasnt offered.

Yes we know JI never received £5k but why did he tell his mate he would be getting £5k for moving stolen goods or drugs? Strangely £5k is half of £10k offered to KD by NM.....

I agree KD was taking the bigger risk and so would probably give JI less, but then KD couldnt have moved the stuff without JI. I can believe he didn't give him anything or maybe promised him £500 rather than half, but that figure of 5k just seems to fit nicely with NM saying he promised to pay 10k

In JI's account of the events at CML he never places himself upstairs or in the lounge doing any packing. He only admits to being in the hall (next to the freezer) and moving the bags out to the van.

Something else I was thinking is that NM probably used a torch rather than turning the lights on because he didn't want anyone in the street to know he was up and doing things. That's backed up by JI now as well (the not turning the lights on).

Seems very unlikely then that NM invited them all in for a coffee/cigarette after finishing moving the stuff. I'm disappointed that the prosecutor talked about this seemingly mythical argument (always subject to new evidence emerging, obviously!) almost as if it were fact, when he surely knew it was dubious at best.

I wonder if anyone -KD for instance - is going to contest what JI has said.
I still cant get the description of soft and squidgy out of my mind. To me, that doesnt quite fit with a description of clothing, which is what JI is claiming was the only thing he saw.
