Thanks for trawling for those historic articles in the case with the neighbour's views of BW & NM
ColorPurple.

Interesting "i would never have believed it of them " point of view.

Again, this reinforces for me ( a little) that this is a sexually motivated crime. ie. the aspects to their interior life that would never really be seen in public /within their acquaintance circle.

Is this the search SH claimed not to know was happening?

Good find!

Excellent. Thank you . So not long at all before police turned up at their house in the early hours.

If you look at her FB page, which is still out there, she shares articles about Becky being missing and at least one of them mentions a local search too.

I feel the jury doesn't know about SH's FB page and the statement from her "friend" regarding the searches for Becky. They only have SH's word that she didn't know anything about the searches, right?

Don't think so but I don't know for sure. If it's applicable, I'd expect it to be in the judges instructions.

I wonder if it depends on what the verdict is for the conspiracy to kidnap? If guilty of that then I can see where joint enterprise could come into play, but then if innoent of that I guess there could still be a joint enterrpise charge, if they were both involved with what did happen but didnt plan (conspire)for it to happen.

I haven't heard the prosecution challenge her on not knowing, but other facebook messages between SH and NM have been mentioned so police have definitely looked at facebook.

ETA, Ahh I get you... yes, even if police checked, the jury won't know about the messages unless it's discussed in court.

Depends how nosey they were before they were chosen for Jury service I guess? I'd be rubbish, as would most of us on here, as it would be hard to "forget" all the things we'd unearthed in the early stages of a case like this!

Right. I just wish we had a full transcript from the trial so we actually know everything that the jury has been shown or all testimony from the witnesses. :gaah:

There are some great researchers on here. I for one really appreciate the record -keeping some must have done to provide all the information, references and links we've been given.
Thank you.

Yes, I always wonder if that would be an acceptable reason for being excused jury service.

anyone else going to put their cards on the table? :)

NM - guilty of murder
SH - hopefully the same as NM
JI - guilty as charged
DD - not guilty

They all lied on the stand, including DD. He tried his best to distance himself from everything. He said he was in bed asleep AND wearing earphones during the time KD and JI were moving in the suitcases. Very convenient and can't be disproved. He also refused to give his phone password to police. He probably knew everything that KD did - he was his twin. But nothing can be proved and he had the least involvement, so I think it will be a no guilty verdict.

JI, I was most disappointed in, I thought he would come clean, but he lied about almost everything, including the £5,000 payment. What he told his friend in the pub, was the real deal IMO. His work colleague (NB) saw him researching trips online and heard him talking with KD about money they were about to receive.

NM and SH will hopefully get what they deserve. I believe the crime was sexually motivated. No one gets kidnapped/beaten/killed just for leaving stuff on the floor.

They are just 2 despicable specimens, and no words do justice to what I think about them.

Dion (and anyone else who thinks they're guilty) - do you think though that JI DD KD JP knew it was Becky from the start? Or just that they are guilty of assisting an offender who they thought had stolen goods or drugs?

  • #537
Two thoughts.

I thought they didn't have any friends. As the friend says "she's just a normal person, they both are" (putting SH first) sounds like this was more of a friend of SH, than NM.

I thought SH said she wasn't aware of any searches for Becky?
It could be the friend of SH, who they had threesomes with. I would expect her to be somewhat supportive of them.

I don't think they thought it was her. I really don't want to think that there are people out there who would help out a murderer by hiding a child's body. I think they thought it was either stolen goods or drugs. Not sure about DD -not beyond reasonable doubt, certainly.
