She got away with anything. She didn’t really have punishment or discipline.

“She was never grounded, never had her phone taken away, never had a curfew, never

had her Playstation or XBox taken away

“In my mind she got away with a lot of things.

... ... ... ...
"...and we hated her so much because she got away with everything that to beat her up, to make her suffer, to finish her life and to dismember her had to be done. She couldn't get away with/from us... "

Aye, in her interviews SH always stated that NM was the one who really disliked Becky, but SHE was the one who really showed in her words her hatred for her.. She was the most incisive when she spoke about Becky. She couldn't help not even disguise, could she?

Agreed - in interviews etc all he could manage was trip hazards and disrespect to his mum really. It's like he could not improvise and embellish. He stuck to the script , whose script?

Interesting when you think of this part of the interview:

Firstly, the part about punishment seems more important now - either she is backing up NM's story about kidnapping to teach her a lesson ...... or she was the one who thought of the idea and this is its first airing?

Secondly, what the hell has any of this got to do with SH anyway? Did she not notice the state of her own house, her own life? Unemployed, on benefits, living in a pigsty with a boyfriend who apparently made all the decisions about her life for her?

Spot on she detested Becky and she was envious of her especially as Anje had Becky as a stepdaughter from the age of 3 I'm guessing Shauna was envious of this too given she was put into care. I do think SH and NM wound each other up about their hatred of poor Becky :(

I think he was left to himself to wing it on what BW did wrong as I feel SW could have (and did) find lots more things to blame Becky for. Had he been able to consult with SH he could have wrote a book on Becky's faults and disrespectful deeds. :\

sorry, couldn't resist it. I'm sure you meant before the jury retires.

JI and DD's closing briefs to the jury then judge's summing up.

Haha, Tortoise! Yes, some verdicts would be useful before we send them down!

I'm not totally with it today. I've got 3 cases where the missing have been found deceased yesterday, reading way too much, will get square eyes!! Out of interest, how many cases do you all have on the go? Any other current British ones I've missed?

Wanted to know what any Bristol WS browsers thought of part of Defence QC closing for SH today ?
My snarks are in brackets.?

Defence say: "Not all victims of abuse are easy to sympathise with, it doesn't mean they're not being abused"
"I’m asking you to see her, warts and all, a young woman that she was." ( Won't specify the warts of course.)
A product of our times, a child of our city. ( Big over-reach and won't go down well with Bristolian jury I bet. Society & City's fault!)
"The council gives her material things, but the council can’t give the love that turns a house into a proud home."* ( Bad bad council to blame for leaving tuna tins and yog pots in bathroom)
"I’m asking you to see her, warts and all, a young woman that she was..
And her life, and her home, are filled, both literally and metaphorically by NM. Filled with his junk, filled with his issues."
"She learned, because she's a survivor in the end,how best to deal with it". ( Hints)
Her house is filled with his junk and his issues. ( Maybe it's their junk actually?)
Could Nathan have done these things without her? ( Beyond reasonable doubt)

The prosecution think we are after a sympathy vote, that’s wrong, the sympathy in this
ase only goes one way, that’s to Becky Watts, and all who loved her. ( Unconvincing )
Says abuse doesn't provide Shauna with defence - Says relevance of abuse - does it mean what you say and do is different if you could just be you? ( She will have told the Pros that she couldn't be herself in the relationship I suppose.)
(Yet, he never brought up here life of endless foster parents here, wonder why?)
UK&Eire

Maybe there was a reason why she had so many foster homes & perhaps the defence didn't want people to hear any testimony which may have ruined their image of her as being downtrodden, controlled, unable to stick up for herself and so on.

And, as SH knew so much about DG's will and Becky being written out due to her behaviour - who knows how much SH had contributed towards the feeling that Becky was so difficult. Was she always telling tales on her, pointing out her 'bad behaviour' and so on?

thanks for that.

so their isolation as a couple I suppose you would say, and their feeding off each other.

and SH's obsession with Becky.

wonder if police use facebook for profiling suspects at all.

I don't know I do though ;) On a serious note though I would think they would sometimes I think it can just give a little more insight to how peoples minds work jmo

It does seem rather a lot of foster homes I think this has been kept quiet for a reason, hopefully time will tell.

Only one on the go for me, this one :) My frazzled head can't cope with anymore at the moment this one has pickled me:)

I think they absolutely do!

SH & NM were both equally jealous of BW. The way SH talks about beckys dad and Anjie was with the utmost respect, IMO. I truly believe SH looked to DG & AG like parents and NM was also jealous, that his mum did have a good relationship with Becky although troublesome at times, normal for teenagers, it appears they had a relatively good relationship. BW had all the love and attention that both NM & SH never received for whatever reason in their lives. They are both equally disturbed.

Will the judge instructions be allowed to be posted online as were all the proccedings in court until now? In previous cases they did it? TY.

Another thing - I discovered (only now) that Becky has a much older sister, by her Dad's side. Don't know if she has more sisters/brothers or not. Does anyone know? I only knew about Dan Watts...

Well; Well; Well. Here we all sit after weeks of listening to nothing but fantasy, lies and deceitful storytelling.

What a horrible lot they all are.

I have nothing much to add anymore because we are NEVER going to know the real truth.

I have been steadfast from the very beginning that SH was highly motivated in this entire wretched event. We are made to believe that we are to feel sorry for her because of her sad upbringing. Well I don't. As far as I'm concerned she was a willing participant and her denials are pathetic.

Guilty all around I say.

I know we have missed all the nuances of what occurred in court and I can only imagine. I have great respect for the Jury in the case. They have been patient with this fantasy that has been spun for their benefit. I believe they will do the right thing. I know they want to do the right thing.

It's almost over Becky. We're here for you and we're not leaving. Justice will be done. RIP Honey.

I've been following

Dr. Kendra Hatcher murder in Texas (now at a halt as the main suspect * flew to México) :(

Leah Martin's murder also in Texas :(

Terry Blanchette and Hailey Dunbar- Blanchette murders in Canada :(

* What's correct? 'Flew to Mexico' or 'Has flown to Mexico'?

yes, along with the other charges re making indecent images not brought into the trial.

I do believe there is a lot more to find out about these two ;)

I can't see any reason why it won't be.

I don't know about her other siblings.

You brought tears to my eyes like addressing her directly. She must have suffered so much while she was being attacked. Poor poor baby girl...

Will the family give victim impact statements?

Will the criminals have still a say at least to address AG and DG to apologise and to have some 'human' words like DD did? Is it usual in the UK courts for the culprits to have a statement in the day of the sentence if they want?

the family can give victim impact statements if they choose to.

as for the criminals, they can apologise through their barrister in his mitigation presentation to the judge, but I doubt these two will.

they are only capable of thinking about themselves IMO.

I think there's at least 2 older sisters, DW is fb friends with both but only one has DGs surname. Just from reading between the lines on social media, this tragedy as awful as it is seems to have brought the siblings together. JMO.
