A psychiatric report said JI was "less likely to question" what he's told. #beckywatts

"JI is the type of person who would take at face value what he was told, and wouldn’t question it." Mr Hammond says #beckywatts

can anyone remind me what NM testified to telling them they were moving/storing for him?

I'm not sure how many days later, but on another day I took the body, the saw, and other items to 9 Barton Court, Barton Hill, and placed them in a garden shed.

'I took them to this address with two other people. I did not tell them what was in the bags and box and I said I would collect them in a few days. Both of these people are men but I do not want to name them.

#BeckyWatts trial: What other evidence is there to support fact JI thought he was getting £5k? 'Absolutely none.'

Being done text was sent before 1.10am text. Possibly referred to had they finished giving NM/SH a lift from Southmead?

[h=3]Ireland 'was kept in the dark by Karl Demetrius'[/h]The prosecution alleges Ireland was offered £5,000 to move Becky’s body and researched expensive holidays online the day after the packages were moved.
Mr Hammond tells the jury Ireland had no idea of any financial offer and had been kept in the dark by Karl Demetrius and Jaydene Parsons so they could pocket the money for themselves - both admit assisting an offender but deny knowingly moving or hiding body parts.
He says Ireland has an IQ of 78 - placing him in the bottom eight per cent of the country - and to him the transporting of suitcases was consistent with what he was being told about Matthews’ being kicked out of home.

JI "compensates for his problems by bigging himself up" Mr Hammond tells the court in reference to his stories in the pub. #beckywatts

So unless she works really, really late hours, would she not be home by this time ?

Probably yes. If sounds to me like the all done? text was sent to KD to see if he was finished giving NM/SH a lift. At which point KD must have texted back about NM asking him to "hide" some stuff. There then followed JP's Are you going to hide it for him? text

Yeah and it would have taken longer than originally planned as they had to go back for a van.

Perhaps it's just me, but I cant see why JP would be texting KD just to check if he had finished giving a pal a lift home.
I think they already knew, at this point, that they were going to store some dodgy stuff for NM. Proving it however, is another matter.

Some families really do use the will like that. Luckily mine was never one of them but I've known others where the will is used as either a carrot or a threat/blackmail. If the house was privately owned that would be worth a few thousand or would be a ready made home for somebody.

A lot of families use financial incentives to steer behavior. The 1992 Nobel Prize in economics went to a man who studied such things (and many others). For example, Gary Becker's "Rotten Kid Theorem" explains how parents could use financial incentives (including wills) to make a bad kid treat his good sibling appropriately.

Don't think the texts between NM/KD at about 9.00pm on 23rd have been made public

And there we have it I suppose. The only proof that JI talked about getting 5K for this job is the testimony of his pal in the pub the following night.
So, his word against JIs basically.

[h=3]Karl Demetrius and Parsons text 'we could do with the money. LOL'[/h]Mr Hammond is now reading messages exchanged between Karl Demetrius and Jaydene Parsons.
The court told of a text message exchange on the night Becky’s body was moved, which read:
JP: “Ah ok, you gonna hide it for him? We could do with the money. Lol.”
KD: “Not yet babe.”
JP: “Ah ok, you gonna hide it for him? We could do with the money. Lol.”
Parsons later text: “That’s a deposit for a house.”
Mr Hammond claims the pair looked to keep money from Nathan Matthews for themselves by keeping Ireland in the dark.
