BeesKnees I didnt want to copy over your whole post again, as it is just above mine anyway, for everyone to read.
But I had to highlight this part..... I just love that word you have created

plonkerness - it is absolutely fabulous !!

I thought it existed!! Honestly! If there is stupidness, lazyness, evilness, and so many others, I thought that I only had to add 'ness' to 'plonker' to make it extreme lolol :blushing:

Does anyone have any idea why they'd allow mention of the rape video on a laptop that hadn't been accessed since 2014 in this trial but not allow Tabak's 🤬🤬🤬🤬 involving strangling blonde women during sex to be mentioned in his trial?

I think it simply depends on the judge. A different judge might have allowed it in Tabak's case, and the judge in the Tabak trial might not have allowed the laptop evidence here.

RSBM. This case has had me gripped from the start and is why I signed up to WS. I'm also following the Australian case of Khandalyce Pearce, the little girl who's remains were found in a suitcase and her mum, who was found 1300km away - really tragic and intriguing case. I dip into the Claudia Lawrence thread and threads about JonBenet Ramsay too.

Eta also the guy in London recently charged with murdering 4 young gay men initially thought to be suicides - Stephen Port.
I have a few on the go at the moment but they're all pretty cold compared to this one:

Claudia Lawrence- UK

Brittney Wood - Alabama

And a fee cold cases/run aways

DG owes it to Becky, to give a victim impact statement at sentencing, to set the record straight. His words against her (calling her rude and disrespectful) and that he never saw NM act inappropriately towards her, have been used by NM's defence to illustrate why NM had a problem with her.

SH's mother said that NM constantly made inappropriate sexual remarks, so I doubt if he curbed the habit when he was at DG's house. He more than likely made inappropriate remarks to Becky. It's no wonder she had anxiety problems, she probably never felt safe in her own house, as NM was there so often, jumping out and scaring her, and threatening to kill her.

She needed protection.
I really don't think he's going to have lied and said there was no sexual behaviour towards Becky if there was..

I don't think that family owe anything to anyone..

Re following cases

I followed Joanna Yeates on here, but at the time I was not signed up and did not post.... I kept meaning to sign up ! but the threads moved so fast and I had limited time

Also followed actively Tia Sharp and Mikaeel Kular and April Jones and the more recent Karen Buckley case

I have followed Claudia Lawrence from the beginning and, like everyone else, hope for a conclusion - but sadly fear too much time has gone by and tracks have been very carefully covered over.

I understand what some people are saying re it being hard to follow a case where we are reading about extremes of evil and horror and for this reason, I don't follow many.
However, if there is a case in the news that grabs my attention, then to be able to come on here and talk things through with others, I find very helpful and far preferable to having so many thoughts going round in my head.
Additionally, I learn so much from many of the posters on here and I find it fascinating to get others viewpoints and see different angles on a case.
Isn't it strange how we seem to follow the same cases - Alyce I've followed all of those from the start. Must say it's frustrating when threads go so cold ( as in CLs case)

Well I've got over 70 in my subs list, but some of those are "dormant" I suppose - waiting for trials or long term missings.

Current "very active" ones - Deorr Kunz, Kyrian Knox, William Tyrell, Chance, Bella, Hailey. Mainly little kids - my new years resolution is to try and follow less of these...

Mikaeel Kular was the one that brought me here. And then Hannah Graham.

Being British I would love to see Claudia Lawrence found, tat one been's bugging me for way too long :(

I know a lot of us follow the same cases and names become familiar, I was just thinking of the cases I've followed and was trying to think of them all, your post CMC made me go check my sub list. I've got 478 subscriptions :scared: Yikes.

Obviously Claudia is very close to home and one I would LOVE resolution for, I want to know what happened to Baby Lisa Irwin, my first case here at WS, and of course Maddy and William. I want justice for Dylan Redwine, I want Lonzie found, and Deorr. I want justice for Hannah Graham, Abby Hernandez, Jessica Chambers, Heather Elvis, and so so many more. I know once I post this I will remember more and think OMG how did I forget them. Sad :( So many lost. Some really stick with you though, almost haunt you. I can still see Alanna Gallagher's beautiful little face in my minds eye right now, and Mikaeel's too.

Remind me again why we do this? :deepbreaths:

ETA SEE! Malik! His name is even in my siggie, how on earth did I forget to mention Malik, and Cassie? *sigh*

ETA2 And more, more names and more faces I will never forget but in haste forgot to mention. Hailey Owens, Bella Grogan-Canella, Bella Bond, Jenise Wright, Alexis Murphy, AJ Hadsell, Amber Peat, Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette, Willow, Delano, Kenneth White..

Maybe I need to follow your NY resolution CCM...

Interesting that a lot of people believe that DD should or will be found Not Guilty after his compassionate speech on the stand.

In reality that compassion should only be taken into account when sentencing, not deciding if he is guilty or not.

In my mind he is guilty, but played such a minor role that he should probably not serve any further custodial sentence. 2 years suspended would be a good starting point.

I think there's a real possibility that he wasnt involved. Sounded like he was going to help his brother with something, didn't and then was found "guilty by association" because he lived there and had mentioned dodgy dealings. I'd think that even if he hadn't made his compassionate speech but I'm really glad that he did make it.

Do you know these series?

It is called Cold Justice

I have been following it in Fox Crime and I think these two ladies are doing very well.

They are

Kelly Siegler a former prosecutor in Texas

MV5BMjI3NDQ0MDIwNV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMjE3NTg3MjE@__V1_UY264_CR87,0,178,264_AL_.jpg

and Yolanda McClary a former crime scene investigator

I love it because they just brought Justice to several cold cases for years!

Didn't that card have pictures of the victim on it?

You're right, he had taken pictures of Tia after she died, as well as having child 🤬🤬🤬🤬; sick sick man.

Thank you Tortoise, jessie and ColourPurple for the links. I read it now...

Ohhh how SH was SO INTO Becky's intimacy, Becky's image, Becky's boyfriends, Becky's confidence, Becky's bras, Becky's behaviour ... ... ... ...

For someone who had the nerve to say 'I don't know her very well' she was so 'concerned' about Becky!!

EVIL LIAR!! :bricks:
And the telling thing is that she doesn't even realise how odd it sounds for her to be talking about her like that.

Yes, Hazell had a memory card with pictures of TS in her bedroom (possibly deceased). The card was found in the rafters of the attic, if I remember correctly. This was the first thing I thought of when the text from SH was released which said that the memory cards arrived. I certainly hope there aren't any pictures of BW on a memory card somewhere at SH's house.

Yes that was my concern too. So easy to hide or dispose of something so small, I hope police found those memory cards. The papers were saying police had over 1200 items of evidence to sort through so I hope they were amongst them and thta they were still unused.

Morgan Ingram (US) brought me here. Have followed a few missing children locally. Following Hannah Graham (US), Jessica Chambers (US) actively, besides Becky.

It's shown on a channel called 'Really' in the UK. I've seen the trailers but never watched an episode.

People shouldn't be swayed by his speech, but I don't think he had anything to do with it either. If he's convicted on the strength of hearsay evidence of a few remarks, possibly misremembered and/or misinterpreted, then we should all be watching our backs.

Wanted to know what any Bristol WS browsers thought of part of Defence QC closing for SH today ?
My snarks are in brackets.?

Defence say: "Not all victims of abuse are easy to sympathise with, it doesn't mean they're not being abused"
"I’m asking you to see her, warts and all, a young woman that she was." ( Won't specify the warts of course.)
A product of our times, a child of our city. ( Big over-reach and won't go down well with Bristolian jury I bet. Society & City's fault!)
"The council gives her material things, but the council can’t give the love that turns a house into a proud home."* ( Bad bad council to blame for leaving tuna tins and yog pots in bathroom)
"I’m asking you to see her, warts and all, a young woman that she was..
And her life, and her home, are filled, both literally and metaphorically by NM. Filled with his junk, filled with his issues."
"She learned, because she's a survivor in the end,how best to deal with it". ( Hints)
Her house is filled with his junk and his issues. ( Maybe it's their junk actually?)
Could Nathan have done these things without her? ( Beyond reasonable doubt)

The prosecution think we are after a sympathy vote, that’s wrong, the sympathy in this
ase only goes one way, that’s to Becky Watts, and all who loved her. ( Unconvincing )
Says abuse doesn't provide Shauna with defence - Says relevance of abuse - does it mean what you say and do is different if you could just be you? ( She will have told the Pros that she couldn't be herself in the relationship I suppose.)
(Yet, he never brought up here life of endless foster parents here, wonder why?)
UK&Eire

I'm about 20 mins from Bristol. So its a hot topic here to.
The lynch mob are out. And are gunning for them both.
Local feeling here is that SH was a party to BW'S death. From the get go. It's was orchestrated between the two of them. Allegedly it may not of been the point that BW would die. But I'm sure just dropping her off somewhere was just not all they'd intended.
It takes a very disturbed person to engage in such a macabre way to dispose of a body by dismembering. Showing so much contempt they felt for poor BW. Who was only guilty for being a normal stroppy teenager.
NM to be charged with Murder. And PCJ. etc
SH to be charged alongside/Manslaughter . And PCJ etc.
JI , KD assisting an offender
JP, assisting an offender by nature of being a party to those who took duty of and hid items to prevent lawful discovery.
DD not guilty.

That's how people around here see it.
For a mother to have a toddler. I found it rather odd. As mentioned before. On WS. There is no mention of the lil girl. No pics. No pics of pregnancy either. No scan pics. Nothing.
Her mind clearly is elsewhere.

All MOO and thoughts of friends etc.

Exactly. Even if he hadn't made his comments I'd still be thinking he should be found not guilty.

478, Skibaboo! Wowzers!!!! I've just deleted about 10, I swore when I joined I wouldn't go over one page (25) but you get sucked in.

Do you think we would be allowed a UK "general chat" thread in the parking lot? There are so few of us, would be nice to have somewhere to discuss local threads, UK specific laws and policies, other things pertinent to British crime. I know there's the UK case list thread but that's for links only. Mods?

BMB That does tie in with what Retribution mentioned too. Thank you for telling a little about local feeling too. Just trying to think whether SH's defence mentioned her being a loving caring mother or anything, I don't think he did ,did he?

Madeleine McCann brought me here. Lurked for years, and have contributed little from when I joined.

William Tyrrell, DeOrr Kunz, Wynarka suitcase baby (now identified Khandalyce Pearce), the Garfield lagoon baby/Kyrian Knox and Claudia Lawrence are the ones I keep up with, but several others I pop in and out of.

This is the first trial I've followed through though. I've found it a very emotional experience and now relieved I didn't follow the trials in April Jones and Karen Buckley although I followed the cases until arrests.

It has been very interesting, some great posters here, and I've learnt a lot more about the legal system too!
I've also found it of value to read the comments and differing opinions, it gives one a much better view of the case.

And, as SH knew so much about DG's will and Becky being written out due to her behaviour - who knows how much SH had contributed towards the feeling that Becky was so difficult. Was she always telling tales on her, pointing out her 'bad behaviour' and so on?

Ding dong light bulb moment!!!!

The WILL...... of course.

Why would SH be told about DG'S Will?
Would SH feel pushed out as don't forget. She WAS AG'S 'Carer' so maybe she thought SHE (as in SH) Deserved BW's share of it as SH said 'BW doesn't do much around the home'
SH had mentioned also AG was ' like a mother to her '
Getting rid of BW. Would leave xyz left in DG'S Will.
Hopefully to be given to their ever helpful SH n NM.

MOO lol
