DG:There's no evidence of direct association between NM & DD

Jury now have to decide whether DD knew or believe items in the shed were process of stolen property, or drugs. #beckywatts

DG is asking where the evidence is to prove this - he claims there is none #beckywatts

That puts him in a difficult position doesn't it? I know we should all do the right thing and abide by the law. But he was presumably unable to get anywhere else to stay at that time, and needed a roof over his head to carry on being able to work. So, if he suspected that there were stolen goods or drugs in the shed, he was facing the prospect of losing his current accommodation if he had intervened and gone to the police to say that he thought his brother was involved in handling stolen goods.

I think it would be very harsh to convict him for not acting on which may have been just a suspicion that his brother might be hiding stolen goods or drugs. I'll admit, if it was my brother, I'm not sure I would have got the police involved - more likely I'd have told him to give the stuff back and keep out of it.

I actually hope DD and JI are found not guilty - neither of them sound like they would have become involved with this by choice.

[h=3]Matthews 'never mentioned Donovan Demetrius'[/h]Dean George, representing Donovan Demetrius, tells the jury - like the James Ireland - they must decide whether Donovan Demetrius knowingly helped Matthews commit and offence.
He says there is “no evidence” to prove Donovan was involved and that the evidence which would be needed to prove his involvement “are not there”.
He reminds the jury that in police interviews and later in his evidence, Matthews said he was helped by two men - Karl Demetrius and James Ireland - but not Donovan.

IMO It's in no one's interest for DD and JI to go to prison.
No prior records, both worked for a living, both contributed to society (even if they did skive a bit).
Sending them to prison just means the tax payer has to pay to keep them off the street, when they're not actually any danger to society.

Totally agree and I think there may be enough doubt in both cases to get not guilty

[h=3]Donovan Demetrius 'didn't need money'[/h]Mr George tells the jury Donovan Demetrius ‘didn’t need’ the money allegedly offered by Nathan Matthews to move the suitcases.
The court has previously heard how Karl and Donovan Demetrius discussed a payment by text message on the day Becky’s body was moved but Donovan insists the conversation referred to the sale of his moped.
Mr George says Donovan was “didn’t need the money” and was working hard at his job to “prove everybody wrong” and make something of his life.

Definitely sounds more like deleting them to free up memory, same as I do... although my phone memory is full of holiday and doggy pics that I dont want to delete where as his was full of ... erm ... videos of his girlfriend lol

What's this "prove everybody wrong" bit about?

I took it to mean young bloke from a part of town with a certain reputation, trying to make something of his life, working hard, holding down a management position etc.

At a guess, just family squabbles. He didn't get on with JP, and had apparently fallen out with his other brother too.
