IMO It's in no one's interest for DD and JI to go to prison.
No prior records, both worked for a living, both contributed to society (even if they did skive a bit).
Sending them to prison just means the tax payer has to pay to keep them off the street, when they're not actually any danger to society.

DG says colleagues involved in the conversation w/ DD say word 'dodgy' wasn't used #beckywatts
expecting judge to adjourn until tomorrow for his summing up. hope not though.
ETA - maybe he'll start with NM/SH (already prepared) and finish up with JI/DD tomorrow from today's speeches.
Yes, I thought he would at least begin his summing up today and, as you say, do NM and SH as he has had time to write that part - or perhaps just do NM today as he and SH will take the bulk of the summary.
Then SH tomorrow , followed by JI and DD in the afternoon and Jury out very late PM ?
I'm pretty much of the same feeling...Late to it today! Just speed read everything and have ;pretty much decided I'd like JI and DD to walk free. Perhaps bosh a suspended sentence on them just to be sure, but I don't think either are guilty, and JI has already been inside for several months.
As for KD/JP I'm disappointed not to have heard anything from them. On that basis give her a year and him 2. Or similar. Maybe suspended for her/them too for the sake of the children.
I'm really only interested in NM/SH getting stiff sentences. The others may have been stupid/greedy/naive or simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. They clearly didn't know they were complicit in anything to do with Becky at first. Whether they thought they were stashing drugs or stolen goods is just not of interest to me, I don't find it relevant to this case.
That is all, your honour![]()
[h=3]Evidence concludes[/h]Mr George has now finished his closing speech for the defence of Donovan Demetrius - concluding the evidence for all four defendants.
After a short break for lunch, the court is set to hear the summing up of all the evidence from the judge, Mr Justice Dingemans.
The judge will also have the opportunity to give directions which may be useful to the jury.

Thanks all for the tweets and summaries.
This is the first trial I have followed in the UK and I am very interested to hear the judge's summary as AFAIK judges here in the US do not do that.
