yes, the trial I was involved in it happened like that.

just to clarify it was statements already made to the police before the trial had started.

Ok Thanks. I would think that as soon as he gave his written confession, they would have asked DG/AG if the bit about SH being at their house on Saturday was true. So we might hear about that in due course.

I'm still puzzled by him confessing to strangling Becky, when she was smothered. They are such different methods of killing, I can't believe he could mistake one for the other.

Just wondering how the pathologist could be so sure that smothering was the actual cause of death, what with a pm having to be done on body parts. Is it possible she had injuries from him trying to smother her before strangling her and that is what they have used to come up with the cause of death?

Otherwise, why would NM admit to a murder, but then lie about how he did it? Its not like strangling is somehow nicer than smothering?

Another thing that puzzles me is the fact that they left vital evidence in their house, which was easy to find - such as the saw box and the car interior cover hidden in the oven (in the bathroom, as you do)..... and then left all the evidence connected to dismembering Becky with the body parts which, again, weren't hidden that well. Yet the bag he apparently put her in when he had killed her is nowhere to be found - even though all the clothes she was wearing when inside the bag were dumped with her body. Did that bag ever exist?

And where are all the things used to screen the floors and walls in the bathroom? Everything else was dumped together, but not those. If they ever existed. I still find it hard to believe there was no trace of Becky in that bathroom, if that is where she was dismembered.

As for where SH pee'd during the days the bathroom was off limits, I wouldn't put it past either of them to use the kitchen sink ..... except that was full of junk too!

I think maybe he had one hand on her neck pinning her down, and one on her mouth keeping her quiet. It's possible the pressure on her neck made her pass out but it was the hand over mouth which stopped her breathing. That could explain the confusion perhaps.

I am hoping somewhere there is the said bag stuffed with plastic sheeting from the bathroom. It would tie up a few things for me. As for where they wee'd, well... kids potty?? I hope SH takes the stand, very keen to hear her side

Really? I have done it in the past - like if I bang my head really hard on a kitchen cabinet door (eye level one) I have been know.n to smack it in retaliation! Slightly childish but sometimes it makes me feel better [emoji14]
Am I a psycho?!

Only dogs that are trained to find drugs would be interested in the bags of drugs. There's no way the bags had no smell, plastic doesn't block the odor. Now if I had packages worth a lot of money the last place I'd leave them would be outside in a shed, I think they knew to keep them out of the house because the smell would drive them out of the house. I had a freezer that was put on a bad circuit I had meat in professional sealed packages and it stunk so bad I couldn't stand it. The freezer had only been off for a week so it doesn't take long.

I think one of the police officers who found the packages in the shed mentioned them not smelling due to how tightly and well they'd been wrapped (and presumably due to the salt and cat litter they'd used)

Although ordinary dogs might not alert as such to drugs I don't think we can rule out they might smell them and try to get to the source out of curiosity but really my point was that even if the dogs were reacting to Becky's body, if the "helpers" didn't know it was there they might well assume they were reacting to something else with a scent that the dogs were picking up, like drugs such as cannabis.

On the page of photos linked to by another poster earlier, photo 13 seems to show what I think is the bathroom door with a key in it? It's the door on the right, which I think is the door to the room behind the photographer. If it's not the bathroom door then perhaps that door had the same method of locking.

ETA: Here's another photo showing the same door - it does seem to be the bathroom door pushed right back on its hinges.

Well found. There does appear to be some kind of lock pictured possibly with a key.

I can lock/unlock my bathroom door from the outside.

If he told her the loo was blocked again and he'd put chemicals down it that would dangerous to inhale then I can believe she wouldn't go in there.

If they went shopping and he put cleaning stuff in trolley and she may of said 'what you buying that lot for?' He may reply 'I know you hate all my hoarding so I'm gonna try and have a sort out and clear out some crap' ...

Ask all the women who's husbands have lead double lives and had a second mrs, home and kids how they didn't know. Ask husbands how could they not have known that their partner was faking a pregnancy. Ask people, how could you not know that your other half was cheating on you? Taking drugs? Gambling away your life saving? Abusing your child? ... because - no one wants to believe that someone they love is capable of such things.

Unlike some people, I'm trying to believe 'innocent until proven guilty' ... i've not yet had undeniable proof that Shauna is guilty.

I'm not even totally convinced that Nathan's story isn't true yet. In part because I think he's a bit not right in the head, not very bright and his age group are the kind of people who watch things like Dexter, Taken and YouTubers who pull off 'pranks' and 'experiments' like luring kids from parks and their homes to show parents that their kids don't give a crap about stranger danger ...

Wouldn't she then find it weird that he went out to buy more cleaning products with her despite the house still looking like a tip?

Your other examples of deception don't really compare to what SH is claiming to have happened, the majority are things the partner would do while the other partner wasn't present. With SH we're being asked to believe that she was completely oblivious to everything he did, from the kidnap kit in the boot, the violent struggle upstairs, putting the bag containing becky into the boot, the car being parked in a different way, his excuse that he parked that way to wash the car even though we know now it was raining at that time, him getting up in the night from their bed to go outside and carry in a body in a bag, she doesn't notice a big body shaped bag before it goes in the bathroom, doesn't think its odd that she's not allowed in the bathroom for days, doesnt notice the packages/suitcases containing body parts in the rest of the house when he says he moved them out of the bathroom, doesn't notice them being picked up in a van, even though she was supposedly there at the time. And today we hear that her DNA on the twsit of the bag containing some of Beckys body is a billion times more likely to have come from her having direct contact with the bag than any other way. I just don't buy that she's that oblivious or that he wouldn't have told her about his "brilliant" idea to teach Becky a lesson. They sound like they were a couple with few friends, who were joined at the hip most of the time.

Got ya. So it quite easily be reopend if she did start to wonder what was going on in there .

Sar2them in the photo though, the larger key like part looks to be on the outside of the door? Unless I'm looking at the door prospective wrong?

I could be wrong but I think if the cooker is in the bathroom then the door we can see is the open bathroom door, meaning that would be the inside of it we can see.

So the blue floor is the bathroom floor.

Forgive me if I'm being dim (it's been a LONG day) but wouldn't that mean their bathroom door opened outwards onto the landing?

DNA from knotted piece of plastic 1 in 1 billion times more likely that SH contributed than her DNA components were represented by chance

These results seem a bit more promising :please:

Yup, I think that must be exactly what it does but I can also see how it looks like the door is from a room to the right of the landing. But if that were the case where would the door to the bathroom be?

"Metrosexual Neanderthal" at least he knows what he is. I knew yesterday, with grandma that there was going to be a mental health defense going to be happening. If it is, I don't think it will work at all.

Ooh me thinks Nathan knows exactly what hes doing I bet hes been playing the system for some time (fibro, shoulder, now mental health) Shauna a carer for his mum accusing Becky of wanting benefits because of her non existent anorexia he knows exactly what hes doing ;)

And claiming it was "Shauna's house" as if he didn't live there ..... so higher benefits for SH as a single parent?

And the fact that NM stated he is 'not very intelligent' doesn't make me think this.

Don't get me wrong he ain't no Einstein but he certainly isn't as daft as he's trying to make out, he's a manipulator, who try's to manipulate every situation he is in IMO.

As for SH I can in no way believe she was blissfully unaware and I too think there is more to come where she is concerned, or at least I bloody hope so.

"Matthews' DNA was found on a face mask, she said.

"Becky's DNA was found from blood-stains on another dust mask which had knots tied in the elastic straps, as well as low level DNA from Matthews and Hoare, the court heard."

http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Becky-...tory-28013503-detail/story.html#ixzz3pF0R8E39

I wonder if the knots tied in the straps of one the dust masks were put there to shorted their length and give a better fit. If so, that would suggest that two different people were wearing dust masks.

So, if I have this correct...
NM is claiming that he put Becky's body in the boot of the car on Thursday Feb 19. He and SH then stay at Becky's home all day and only return to CML about 7pm, have a takeaway and watch tv.

On Friday Feb 20, they go back to Becky's house during the day and are there when the police call round, after Becky has been reported missing.
All this time Becky's body is still in the boot of the Zafira which is presumably parked just outside the house !

Then on Friday night, NM and SH go back home to CML, NM waits til SH is asleep and then goes out to the car, brings in the body and puts it into the bath and locks the bathroom door.
On Saturday Feb 21, when SH gets up , she is not able or allowed to go inside the bathroom.

NM then takes SH back to Crown Hill, Becky's house, for the day ( minus the shopping trip together obviously ).
While SH stays there ( hopefully this will be corroborated by DG and AG ) NM nips back home, gets out the saw and does the dismemberment.
By the time he goes back to collect SH and bring her back to CML, he has already hidden the pieces of the body in the house - that bit I can almost believe, so much cr*p in there, no problem hiding stuff - meaning the bathroom is once again available to use.

Not that I believe much of this, just wanting to get Mr Metro/Neanderthal's story straight in my mind.

"I'm an emotionally unstable, psychologically disturbed, metrosexual Neanderthal"

Nathan Charles Matthews, age 28-&-a-half

(sorry, this quote still amuses me somewhat)

RBBM

On the first night, he brings both "bags" into their home from the car after Shauna is sleeping. He places them somewhere in their home.

On the second night, again after Shauna is asleep, he collects the bag with Becky in it and places it in the bathtub. Then, he pours the drain cleaner in the toilet.
