The court has also previously heard all text and call data from DD's phone had been deleted before police seized it. #beckywatts

I often wonder if paranoia causes people to make the situation worse for themselves. For example, if DD heard that NM had been arrested having spoken to him and/or spoken to his brother about the work he had done for him recently, and then decided he better delete his call history and texts, as if the police look at his phone they'll see he's been involved in something else criminal with NM...

Then of course the police look into things, see the history has been deleted - well that looks suspicious, their history could be to do with the murder. It may not have been but of course the police don't know that! Suddenly DD is in over his head.

just MOO.

edited to say sorry if this isn't clear, hope you get the gist of it!

I'd missed this that NM had said about SH's DNA being innocently on things. I wonder if the two of them had discussed this before, cause yes it IS a good way to explain why her DNA might be on the blue rubble bags.

I have to say, the order in which they are presenting the jury with evidence and witness testimony is in total shambles. They are hopping all over the place. Interview, then CS evidence, then witness, then CS evidence, then back to original interview, then some more witnesses, etc. Holy crap.

Can't they try to set things up chronologically to make it easier for jurors and only randomly fit in witnesses who can't make certain schedules? This is like watching one of those films that doesn't show the story in a linear chronological fashion and instead snips the footage and skips back and fourth in time (viewers need to work extra hard to put the story together at the end). What a mess!

I don't know whether SH is guilty of some of the charges, in denial about everything or up to her neck, but jeez she's annoying how she brings up at every opportunity that Becky was having a tantrum! I bet NM was throwing one every other day! Change the ****ing record SH!!

In Shauna's first interviews - at this point still assuming she's innocent and at that point assuming that she didn't know anything other than Becky had gone out and not come home - I don't think she shows "obvious HATRED of Becky" - I think Becky was what my mum would've called 'a little madam!' and teenagers can be annoying frustrating unlikeable little brats and I know! I was one and I've had 3 so far - if I thought Becky had run away and was just playing up for her Dad's attention again then I'd be probably saying the same things as Shauna was ... if that makes sense? In fact I'd be mad as hell! If I thought she'd done a bunk for attention I'd be mad that she was worrying everyone and causing me to be sat in a police station!

I may be being stupid as I'm not very scientifically minded but if this was Becky's blood then wouldn't there be DNA? And as we know, there wasn't Becky's DNA in the bathroom. Do we know if there was her DNA elsewhere in the home? Otherwise perhaps this wasn't Becky's blood. It could be anyone's and I would necessarily know if my husband bled for example (cut his finger maybe).

I know what you mean but it's also convenient that if they were involved, it would really help them to make it sound like Becky was just a stroppy, attention seeking teenager who'd run away from home rather than been murdered. One of my neices can be a stroppy little madame and a real attention seeker but if she disappeared and hadn't used her phone or facebook to contact anybody I would be absolutely worried sick. Neither of them seemed to be.

We haven't heard anything to suggest that Becky was a 'little madam' though other than from the mouth's of the two accused of murdering her. Which I struggle to take as gospel since they are likely to have other reasons for a character assassination on Becky.

It's my own opinion and I'm going by things I've read elsewhere and my vast experience of teenagers.

I think that's a good point, and I agree with you. I've only seen Becky on the chilli-eating video, and she did come across to me as a bit of a "little madam" as you say. We need to be careful that respect and sympathy for victims doesn't blind us to the fact that they were normal human beings, not perfect angels.

I know what you mean but it's also convenient that if they were involved, it would really help them to make it sound like Becky was just a stroppy, attention seeking teenager who'd run away from home rather than been murdered. This is true too, but if they weren't particularly fond of her they wouldn't be as concerned as someone closer.

If SH actually is involved, the two of them were very forward-thinking in the way they prepared a story allowing for the possibility that she wasn't - for instance, in saying she was in the garden for twenty minutes when they arrived at the house, even though NM was saying he was innocent at that point; and in making sure there was a period where SH was alone with AG, so explaining how he was able to dismember the body without her knowing (though also possible she didn't want to be present and hence went to AG's).

Yes she's been described by others as shy but I agree with mrazda71 that every teenager has their stroppy moments, it's just part of being a teenager and if she did have that struggle with anorexia I can see why her dad and step mother may have been soft on her and spolit her a bit... and also why NM who spent most of his life being brought up by his grandmother could be jealous of that.
