UK UK - Renata Antczak, 49, Hull, East Yorkshire, 25 April 2017

Honestly if I was on the jury I'd find it hard to convict them even though I do really think they did do something sinister to her. There just isn't enough proof.

Hopefully at some point she'll turn up and provide proof.

I think that's being very optimistic at this point

I think Christmas dinner might be very awkward in a certain dentists household this year.

I mean I can't believe no trace of her will ever be found if she's come to harm.

  • #266
That's quite possible.

I don't imagine he's under surveillance, you'd think that whatever terms were breached it'd only come to light through a complaint.

But the case as a whole, there's just something weird about it.

I'm still unsure how one of the conspiracy charges only apply to RL. You need 2+ people for a conspiracy.

Roll on March, I doubt we'll get any answers till then.

Just catching up with this thread - very odd situation and agree, how can you have a conspiracy with yourself !

Any news on a trial date yet ?

All charges were dropped so there is no trial anymore.

I think the Mail may have it wrong and the charges re. conspiracy to administer a noxious substance are still pending.

This is what the Hull Daily Mail put up yesterday to mark the 6 month anniversary of Renata's dissapearance.

Mr Mustafa and Mr Lipinksi were due to stand trial this month but the GBH charge has since been dropped and both men have been bailed.

The trial will now take place next year.

Bizarre case. Clearly a lot the Police know that we aren't privy too but I'm sure things are progressing behind the scenes, surely?!

This is totally weird.

ETA: article is from Thursday.

Mr Lipinski and Dr Mustafa both appeared at Hull Crown Court today, when not guilty verdicts in respect of both charges facing Mr Lipinski were entered after the prosecution offered no evidence against him. He was then released from the dock.

Dr Mustafa, of Beamsley Way, Kingswood, is still due to stand trial at the same court on March 5, with the two charges still currently on the indictment. He was released on conditional bail.

ETA2: Why not just drop the charges?

So I'm trying to get this straight.

RL & MM were originally charged with conspiracy to administer a noxious substance to Renata and conspiracy to cause GBH to a man.
RL was also charged with conspiracy to administer a noxious substance to his own wife.

In October the GBH charges against the man were dropped.

This week RL was declared not guilty because no evidence was offered.

MM still faces two charges, presumably conspiring (?) to poison Renata and what, RL's wife?

I reckon they've got it wrong and it's the one charge against Renata he still faces. Why would he plot to kill RL's wife and there's no evidence RL was involved?

Looks like they've made a pig's ear out of this. Charging a man with insufficient evidence.

rsbm

Both defendants still face a joint charge of conspiracy to administer a noxious substance against Ms Antczak, and Mr Lipinski's wife, Anna Lipinski.

http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news...s/missing-renatas-husband-bailed-after-588750

I've just been reading back and this was the status in October.

Looks like MM was charged in relation to RL's wife after all.

Perhaps she knew somehow that if Renata was ever to be poisoned it would be MM so he decided to get rid of them both. Cook them both a meal and hope it was explained as food poisoning or something.

It doesn't look as if they know he went ahead with the plan though, or they would have a murder charge surely. I wonder if he wrote in his diary 'Renata and RL's wife last supper.' I mean how could they know he planned to poison RL's wife? If he had a conversation with RL about it why not present the evidence, unless they couldn't prove from what was said that RL agreed.

It's all very mysterious.

Tortoise, I think you're right that the charges have been misreported at some point.

I have a horrible, nagging feeling the CPS are pushing the boundaries with this case. I hope they know what they're doing.

And who is MM's co-conspirator if it isn't RL?

  • #275
Maybe he thought he was conspiring with RL but RL didn't know it. It's hard to try to imagine what went on.

  • #276
I thought they had some kind of vocal recording which showed intent on the part of MM and RL re the administering of the noxious substance to Renata and Mrs L.
Obviously not, if RL has now been cleared of any involvement.

Which leaves MM, as you have both said, conspiring with whom ? himself ?

I see this BBC article gives another hearing date at Hull Crown Court

A further hearing involving Mr Mustafa is due to take place at the same court on 8 January.
