Sorry to be dense, but not the ex? The ex's BIL is 32, and houses associated with ex are being searched, this is what we know at the moment?

Specialist search teams have cordoned off a section of Caverswall (Stoke-On-Trent) in their effort to look for clues regarding missing Samantha Eastwood. We're calling on the public for information no matter how insignificant it may seem. socsi.in/dPw6n

Is that correct that the area being searched is near a disused quarry ?

I’ve only just seen all this and read up on it all. One question I haven’t seen asked or answered is, was there an evident struggle inside her home? Or like Claudia Lawrence was there nothing noticeable? How about things such as made or unmade bed to suggest she made it to bed?

I understand there is confusion to the keys being left in the home or the car?

In regards to the scream I’m with the majority, I wouldn’t have bat an eyelid at a solitary scream that could have come from any house.

I don't think, as far as I know that much if any info has been released about whether there were signs of disturbance in the house. If police checked the house as soon as Samantha was reported missing then that would have been Friday evening after 7.30ish, scream heard about 2pm, so a few hours IF 2pm was when something happened.
It is difficult to know when to intervene with neighbours, I think, as Cagney said, I would probably go by how terrifed and desperate the scream sounded.
The police do seem very focused on the ex-partner's sister's husband. I can think of a possible scenario (fairly obvious) that could have provoked so much rage, but who knows. Can't find the MSM link at the moment but one of Samantha's colleagues has stated that calling off the wedding was her decision but that she didn't elaborate the reason for it.
The outlook is very grim at the moment. I'm also trying to follow like everyone else what is going on in the Mollie Tibbetts investigation and have been struck by the difference in the police/media presentation of the two cases. Very different locations but not totally dissimilar circumstances. Obviously I completely agree that nothing should be released that would harm the investigation but I find the Staffordshire police's approach, getting the CCTV of Samantha out there quickly, giving bits of info to the media, asking for specific help from the public (re dashcam footage) much more reassuring. They seem to seen to be visibly conducting a good investigation and I think that's good for police/public relations and I hope reassuring for Samantha's family, who are being supported by specially trained officers. They must be so afraid at the moment, God bless them.
