Any thoughts from you lovely legal beagles on how it looks to the jury that batool and malik won't testify? We all expected it. But hopefully won't strengthen their case?

not a legal opinion, but based on the reporting, B and M will be found guilty of allowing the death of a child. U will be found guilty of murder. I don't think testifying would have helped B, her barrister did a good job. There wasn't much said about M (that was reported)by the prosecution, his barrister didn't say much, other than to mention his uni attendance and that he wasn't at the home much. M testyfying may have done more harm than good.

I keep thinking about this. The fact that none of B's family were willing to take her, leads me to believe that there is more to this than there seems. If they could have been charged with anything, they would have by now.

Cowards indeed !! it seems its up to the prosecution to prove their guilt beyond reasonable doubt and unlike in the USA the juries in a UK Court can draw inference of guilt from a refusal to testify .
One can confer from communication between urfan and Batool and between her and her sisters that she at the very least allowed the death of a child
But has it been proven malik was involved at all by prosecution? I suspect this is why he is not defending himself and is taking on board his right to remain silent. I sincerely hope he doesn't escape real punishment for Sara death

reread what is needed to prove 'causing or allowing the death of a child' - M will be found guilty of this, I am sure.

I really hope they can convict BB on more than just allowing the death.

FM is the unknown quantity. I mean it's beyond belief that he didn't know and - at times - even witness first hand the abuse of Sara. But we haven't seen much evidence to prove this against him.

Here's hoping the Jury have enough to give them all a murder charge.

I think (hope) that Batool stands to be convicted of more than causing or allowing the death of a child. The prosecution have mentioned that it is believed two people were responsible for some of the injuries, there's the bite marks and also the tape. Plus the suggestion Sara was tied up before Sharif came home....and the phone calls about her behaviour. Plus the messages to her sisters. She should also be found guilty of murder. Jmo.

Both Batool and Malik have 2 charges -

1. Murder: Both are accused of being involved in the intentional killing of Sara Sharif.
2. Causing or Allowing the Death of a Child: This charge pertains to their alleged failure to protect Sara from harm, leading to her death

My concern is that they both get convicted for 2 (causing or Allowing the Death of a Child) which will hold a lighter sentence but not convicted for murder

Well, they are being charged with murder. We just have to hope there's enough evidence for conviction, especially in BB's case.

Them all filmed not batting an eyelid at Sara's whopping black eye is so telling to me. That Sara was "beaten black" and hobbling around, unable to sit before she was withdrawn from school. Malik fleeing the country with them, pictured startled and guilty in every shot. Batools sisters making light of the torture. There's darkness behind all their eyes. What a heinous bunch of rotten apples. JMO

Just a short synopsis above

I still believe Sara was killed in the outhouse I also think in the final weeks she rarely left it if at all and the scream the neighbour heard was Sara's body giving up and giving way to death ,a primal scream if you will .

The picture of Sara in the green dress still gives me vibes of advertising a child bride . It's the earrings and smokey eye that gives me the feeling .its a bit more than party makeup for a child under 10 in any culture. A way to be rid of her and a possible payout for urfan . My speculation of course .
It is more than an effort to show olga that Sara is doing well .
While a child being" sold " into marriage is a practice that is rare in Pakistan and Muslim culture. It does exist.
If urfan felt he could gain from Sara and felt she was causing his anguish I would not be in the least bit surprised if it was the case . Jmo .

When all this is done, I really wanted to visit Sara’s grave. For some reason, I just assumed she’d be buried in Woking. But I found out she’s actually laid to rest in Cmentarz Parafialny dla Aleksandrowa i Falenicy in Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland.

Dotta, if you’re ever near there and want to visit her grave, please know that you would be representing me—and indeed everyone in this forum (if they so wish) — who have wept and grieved for her - and who would want to be there beside you at her grave.

To tell you al the truth, even after all these months, I am still in shock and pain that Sara has gone through all of this - I so wish Sara was alive and leading a wonderful life - experiencing all the good and beautiful things in life - instead of the depraved and twisted world the people around her gave her!!!

I often wonder about the videos . They even went as far as filming urfan slapping Sara. I wonder what other macabre home movies these horrible people filmed of Sara being beaten and is that why the phones were "lost " in Pakistan. Something for the sick trio to enjoy a "trophy " or an opportunity to relive the violence and get their kicks

That is beautiful. A loving tribute to Sara . Love she was deprived of for most of her life .

Somehow the phrase she is free of her pain now is not apt . I wish like you she was alive and someone had of stuck their neck out and reported it . A wish that unfortunately can't come true
So my wish is that anyone who has read or heard about this case if you suspect ,react ,phone the authorities, don't leave it up to someone else ,be that child's saviour, if you are wrong so be it . You will live with it but God forbid you look the other way and that child dies .That is a scenario not many people can live with

It happens so often in trials. BB knows that she can't stand up to cross examination so, bad as it looks ( and it will go down badly with the Jury ) it would be even worse for her to be on the stand, getting tangled in knots by the Prosecution. Lesser of two evils ( sorry not the best quote there ! ) for her to remain silent.

As for Malik, we just don't know really. So little has been reported. I think the Prosecution have done enough to at least show he must have been aware of what was happening to Sara...but whether they are able to prove his active involvement, I just don't know.

The doorbell camera would have shown whether and when Malik was in the house during the critical period of Sara's final - day beating, dying, and also during the time of the house being cleaned up and everyone packing to leave. Where is the doorbell camera?
iirc, it is Malik who (obtained) provided the money to pay for the flights for the 5 children and 3 adults and this must have taken some time to arrange so he must have been among them and involved in a situation in which this whole family were suddenly fleeing the country leaving a beaten and dead 10 year old girl lying in an upstairs bedroom - leaving their jobs and schools and friends and family and home and off to Pakistan, so why did he decide to fund the trip and join them in hiding?
His own work uniform, disposed of with Sara's soiled clothing and nappies and wet towels, could be relevant to his being present at that time.
I think Malik made the decision to come back to the UK when he found his own security and safety at greater risk in Pakistan than it would be in the UK. and for fear of his own wider Pakistani family ensuring that he was arrested and returned here forcibly.

I'm really surprised because I was looking for it in Polish Press to no avail.
I knew Olga and the whole Polish family wanted to bury Sara in Poland.
When I visit the capital city Warsaw, I will try to find this cemetery.
I will light a candle, bring beautiful white flowers and pray for the Peace of her Soul - in my name and all those wonderful posters who showed compassion for this sweet little girl.
I might even take a photo.

The charges were never based on all three having inflicted violence on Sara.

By the 'evidence' introduced by their barristers through cross-examinations of Urfan, I really don't see how the two defendants Beinash or Faisal have raised doubt about their complicity in Sara's murder. I wonder what the legal instructions will be as regards participation and complicity.

As far as I can see, Faisal's barrister said that he had to maintain distance from Beinash and shouldn't have been living in the house. Realistically he was living there, he hasn't made a case for not being there when Urfan was inflicting torture upon Sara, and it's not as if the house was a castle with 6-foot thick walls and separate wings.

Women are never required (in law) to change their name on marriage in the UK. They can choose to, as can men, and anyone can change their surname to anything they like with a simple process.

I'm not very tech savvy. And I had a couple of questions regarding data storage etc .

Often we hear in trials of WhatsApp, Facebook and other text mediums data being retrieved .

Can deleted messages be restored for the purpose of evidence and is ring door bell footage stored and if so what is the storage system ,is it backed up in some cloud storage. I have heard of police requesting people provide footage etc to help an investigation. As I said I'm not well up on any sort of technology or terminology. Facebook stores our data does whoever sells the ring doorbell store that.

If I lose my phone and buy a new device I can restore my data ,messages ,emails ,photos , any accounts and I won't lose any data .how come this couldn't be done with the evil trios phones
