Sara Sharif was born in Slough on 11 January 2013. Her father, Urfan Sharif, came to the UK from Pakistan to study and went on to marry Sara’s mother, Olga Domin, in Woking in 2009.

The court has previously heard that Sara had been hooded, burned and beaten during more than two years of abuse.

Sharif, his now wife, Beinash Batool, and Sara’s uncle, Faisal Malik, all lived with Sara and her siblings in Woking before her death.

The three travelled to Islamabad, Pakistan, with Sara's five brothers and sisters on 9 August 2023, the day before her body was found at the family home by Surrey Police.

A post-mortem examination found the 10-year-old had sustained "multiple and extensive injuries" before her death.

A previous court hearing was told police found her body after receiving a call from Pakistan on 10 August 2023.

The three adults were arrested on their return to the UK on 13 September.

Thank goodness for that result.

I hope they both rot in hell.

Sara I hope you rest in peace - you masked a lifetime of pain behind your beautiful smile I just wish you could’ve spoke out to a trusted adult ☹️☹️

What a relief. Sentencing will be interesting for Malik, there's such a wide range available to the judge. I dread to think what else the media have available to release now the trial is over.

This article has a video of Sara singing.
  • Sharif had been accused of attacking three women and two children including a one-month-old baby, who suffered a similar catalogue of bruises, burns and bites, but he was never charged with any offence.
  • After arriving in the UK on a student visa, the taxi driver preyed on vulnerable women as young as 17 whom he attempted to wed in a bid to get a UK passport
  • He held one woman at knifepoint, choked another with a belt and imprisoned one girlfriend for five days while he sent her passport off for a marriage application in a bid to secure residency in the UK.
  • In a sickening twist, Sharif managed to escape justice for so long by claiming he was the real victim, grooming children to cover for him including a 14-year-old who was due to testify that he was innocent before Sharif's dramatic confession to Sara's killing midway through the trial.
  • His wife Batool is a scheming thief and liar who pretended she had twins with another man and already had two secret husbands when she wed Sharif.
  • Sharif's family shielded him in Pakistan after the killing, lying about seeing Sara on video happily having dinner with her family on the night she died
  • Police in Pakistan brought false charges against Sharif's family to force him to return to the UK
The manipulative bully first came to police's attention in December 2007 after his 18-year-old girlfriend Angelika jumped out of a window to escape Sharif who held her at knifepoint threatening to kill her.
I so hope their cell mates read the above article.

This has to be the absolute worst case of child abuse I’ve ever come across.

Gotta ask, does such a thing as Life Without Parole exist in Britain? These two should NEVER see the light of day again.

Absolute Evil.

The 14-year-old would be Sara's brother, presumably?
For once, I'm glad the police in Pakistan brought false charges against Sharif's family - otherwise they would have escaped justice altogether.

The police still deny this, though.

No, no life without parole. There is a whole life tariff though...so would never be released if sentenced to this. This is rare though.
However, life sentences carry a minimum term before becoming eligible to apply for parole. Age is a factor here too...Sharif could receive a minimum term of in excess of 30 years...he may never get out and could die in prison.

Re the part BBM: Yes, we call it a "Whole Life order" but it's rare that it is used. IMO this case is a candidate for a WLO.

Whole life tariff or sentenced to a minimum of time to serve (i think the record is around 37 years).

Sara's headteacher Jacquie Chambers said she was a "very caring, very confident little girl" who had the "cutest, biggest smile" and "absolutely loved singing and dancing".

She said Sara would often talk of her dream of winning The X Factor and the school has now introduced a singing award in her memory.

"She was such a cheerful soul and I think that's what's really heartbreaking. She was such a special little soul," she said.

"I don't think I have ever felt so much sadness and I say that on behalf of all of the staff and the community. I think the shock was just immense."

I'm presuming that it was Sara's brother as well. So the plan seems to have been for Sara's brother to testify that it was all Batool in order to get his dad off the hook and then Urfan torpedoed the plan by changing his story on the witness stand.

An expert on bbc news channel said Faisal could get life as that's the maximum for causing or allowing. Although a life sentence isn't always that long I guess.
Now they're speaking to a man who hid them in Pakistan and took them out for pizza. He sometimes hid them in crop fields when he saw the police coming
