You know what, I really am not sure. I’m one minute thinking there has to be more and the next I’m leaning toward the complex nature . It may be that I know more information than I am willing to share because of professional and integrity issues so I will leave my comment at that ( and please don’t assume that I am indirectly saying that it’s more than one by making this observation and comment because I’m not).

Appreciate the response!! I understand that you have a limit on what can and can’t be said. :)

Definitely agree that whatever happened and whatever choices she made, she is not to blame. She was a woman walking home and entitled to be safe regardless of literally anything. I don’t think posters are suggesting it’s her fault or she shouldn’t have got into the car with him, more wondering whether it is likely that this is what happened.

I think it’s an interesting issue because I think it would be very hard to get her into the car by force without something amiss being seen by someone on a road that busy. It’s possible something was seen, and we haven’t been told about it by police? But I doubt he would have taken that risk.

I don’t think it would have been surprising if having seen his warrant card, he was able to trick her into getting into his car. Also she had been drinking wine and while I don’t think there is any suggestion she was drunk, a glass or two may have made her slightly more vulnerable to someone trying to trick her in this way. (And to be clear, even if hypothetically she had been drunk, it would not make her to blame for any of it. I’m talking about what may or may not have in fact happened, not criticising her actions in any way).

I just think given it was a busy street, there’s a good chance she got in willingly.
I live in the Clapham area, since lockdown I have noticed so many unmarked plain clothes officers on the streets especially when I’m driving at night. So I don’t think SE would have found it odd

Hi all, new poster here so apologies if anything posted below is not allowed.

I saw yesterday a lot of comments in regards to a SC image of a burning pile?
If this was the case and was in fact an image of the area where the remains were found (taken unknowingly) then would this indicate that WC had in fact returned to the site and moved the body/attempted to destroy it?
Only reason I raise this is because the previously linked DM article mentioned that the police had been monitoring WCs house for a couple of days.
Could them observing him heading to this area have been the catalyst for the arrest potentially?
The thread was closed for a while because of references to that and we were asked not to comment on it.

I worked in labs for my entire career (retired now). Yes all this is true. BUT want to add that lye, sodium hydroxide and whatever else it is known by is readily available at your local home hardware store.
Although it can be used to degrade a body, the bones are still fairly difficult to get rid of. DNA can be well protected inside the bones and so although ID can be delayed, I am fairly certain it will happen in the next days.
Yes but he wouldnt want to be seen buying it

It is claimed Couzens was working at the American Embassy in Battersea on the day Miss Everard was taken.

Police arrested one of their own officers over the murder of Sarah Everard after a breakthrough from CCTV on a passing London bus as detectives also probe whether the suspect used his warrant card to lure her into his car after leaving work guarding the nearby US Embassy, it emerged today.

Scotland Yard are also said to be investigating whether Wayne Couzens, 48, used the current Covid-19 lockdown rules to stop the missing woman as she walked home to Brixton from her friend's home in Clapham, south-west London on the evening of March 3.

It was reported that neighbours noticed a Land Rover parked close to policeman Wayne Couzens' house in the historic town of Deal, and thought it was being watched by two men inside at around 5pm on Tuesday evening.

But it has been claimed today that Couzens, an armed diplomatic protection officer, worked a 2pm to 8pm shift guarding the US embassy close to Battersea Power station - less than three miles from where Miss Everard was last seen at 9.30pm.

The armed officer, who is part of the Met’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection (PaDP) armed unit would have been picked up outside the embassy by a minibus and most likely taken to Charing Cross police station.

Once there, like all armed officers, he should have checked his firearm back into the armoury and headed to his locker to get changed.

He should not have gone home in full uniform. Instead, all officers are required to change into their civilian clothes.

MailOnline believes that the woods where the remains were found were known to him because Couzens' Ukrainian wife and their two children had visited for walks.

If he was working on the day of the incident, surely going via Clapham is a bit out of the way when there would be a more direct route to Kent (see map attached). This would signal a bit of premeditation for going on the prowl

I’ve just had a thought ...
What if he switched cars.. used the hire car initially to get out of that area (he presumed he’d be unidentified) and then left his own car somewhere quieter to transfer into for the rest of the way and recover the hire car at a later date?

Would be surprised too if he drove from home to work in the morning in a hire car while he has a personal car. Would be a lot of prep for his evening plan. Would suspect he drove in to London in his car and got a hire one there.

That CCTV of the car is so sinister... definitely looks like movement at the top of the passenger window and movement inside around driver/passenger area. God this breaks my heart.

good grief his mother in law who doesnt even live in the country says "he could not do anything like this hes a wonderful man" .... how well does she really know him?
How well do we really know anyone? Including our spouses ? Sometimes when something comes to a conclusion and one party to that is happy that it has yet the other party isn’t , the one that isn’t , behaves in a way that has never been seen in 25 years of being married. That’s how scary it can be. Therefore I ask , how well do we truly know anyone? We may believe that we do but when the gloves are off ......

My concern now with the developments in the setting up of a Command Facility on the site in Ashford is that there is the potential for multiple human remains to have been found. Hence the requirement for a proper Command post and the previous language around human remains taking some time to identify etc. Just a possibility.
I agree and thought exactly the same. This is on the cusp of blowing up.

Link above at 22:25 3rd March - Car in right lane in first few seconds of video potentially taking roundabout onto A20 which leads to M20 > Ashford. Looks kinda similar? Route is JMO but also quickest route from poynders to bears Ln according to route planner. Being at the Dulwich junction at 22:00 would also make sense as it would take around 25 mins to drive between those two points.

People need to calm down with the "They knew eachother" theory. The police have all but confirmed that Sarah did not know WC and this crime bears all the hallmarks of a predator who strikes at random whenever he feels "that urge" if you will. The curb was clearly being checked as an abduction point and I imagine the flats were cordoned off so nobody inside could come out and disturb any possible evidence on the pavement or car park.

It's been revealed in several MSM posted this morning that Police don't think they knew one another

That car looks remarkably similar to the one in the driveway of the house in Deal, roof rails and everything -https://www.google.com/maps/@51.2106061,1.3904551,3a,75y,318.06h,90.66t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sw_q-xotKrHxStpF6s9UoKQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Except the car in the CCTV is a light colour and the car recovered in Deal is black.

Looking at the CCTV you can see a London taxi go through the traffic lights third, which provides the contrast. Nearly all London Taxi's are black.

The language used chilled me. 'What we believe to be human remains' - I know if her body had been out in the elements it is likely to be in an advanced state of decomposition, however, i think it would still be evident it was a body. This case is really likely to only get worse.

Thanks you so much, it has been tough, I developed panic attacks and PTSD but I have since recovered but I will continue to fight for the justice of others as much as possible. Women should be safe everywhere, its so sad. I really appreciate your sincere and genuine kind words!! X
Kindred spirits we might be. Activism runs through my blood. So deep, I have to control my actions and words at times. My life’s trials and tribulations have created a fighter within and a mission with purpose to fight child abuse and domestic violence. I’m unafraid to stand alone if that is what it takes.

I don't think that site is somewhere a woman and children would go for walks. It's private land, derelict and really overgrown.

I was violently sexually assaulted and raped some years ago, I did not fight back, I knew I had no chance in a very remote area, I froze with fear and complied as I was so scared, I knew I did not stand a chance, I think if I didn't comply...actually, I dread to think what would have happened. So, I think it is very possible she complied with him out of fear or literally a million other reasons, shock just makes some people freeze in these situations. MOO. I'm one of the lucky ones. I was only a very young teen and not streetwise, the 2 men were 2 decades older. My experience, my own opinion. My heart goes out to anyone who has been through similar. ✌

Look at the sign in the background. This is on the road going up to the College, which these cars in the 2200 030321 video at Lordship Lane are coming from.

This is the journey from Poynders and the car is turning right to continue OUT of London.

It is. I live in Clapham but am from Kent, this is the route I'd drive.
