That's right - you could infer a minimum but not a maximum. If Fiestas were designed to fit a maximum 6' driver then the seat position being all the way back probably tells you only that the driver was 5'11" or more. Interesting but not that informative.

I still want to know how tall JC is.if he's too short to have driven the Fiesta with its seat in that position, I doubt we will ever find that out, for obvious reasons.

I thought was strange how Suzy's ex boyfriend said nobody will find out, but then some of the reactions of these people might have been annoyance of questions they've already answered many times.

I read something where he thinks the Suzy accusations are preventing him having parole, but didn't he murder Banks after he was let out of prison for raping women? I don't think he would be released even if he didn't kill Suzy.

As I've mentioned before, it might not be as simple as height. Leg length would be the main factor, so it does depend on the person's proportions. Some people's legs are disproportionately short or long for their height.

The police. It's an Americanism - "Law Enforcement" - which IMO is incongruous in a UK thread. I always just say "police". We are overburdened with initials and abbreviations so why not be clear when we can?

She literally just vanished like Suzy but he slipped up with SB and got caught. But it shows he was fully capable of being able to kidnap a woman and it not been seen by members of the public.

By the fact that JC's offences for which he has been convicted were committed in Sutton Coldfield, Four Oaks, Erdington, Leamington Spa, Bristol and Reading it is clear that he is an opportunistic and exceptionally violent offender who plans to a degree but will also commit offences whenever the mood and the opportunity arises.

His violent kidnap and rape in Reading was when he broke his journey between London and Bristol and chanced upon a lone woman in a parked vehicle

Bear in mind that JC is a narcissistic psychopath. They don't play by the same rules as mere mortals. It's all a game of power and control.

Incorrect. Jim Dickie has been perfectly candid in saying that JC is known to have been in Fulham on the day SJL vanished.

I would urge a review of reliable MSM, which includes the investigating officers talking to camera.

On this question of Cannan's height, I can't find anything official, but CBD's book relates the descriptions a number of his victims gave of him.

'Jean', the woman he raped standing up in front of her son, thought he was 5'10".

Julia Holman, who fought him off, thought he was 5'8" to 5'10".

The two assistants in the Leamington Spa shop he tried to attack described him as 5'6". A garage employee who saw him in the washroom where ropes he had hidden were later found described him as 5'8".

The Reading rape victim described him as being of average height.

Was he tall enough to drive SJL's car as found?

It’s been provided but as you replied to me a retired cop said they know he was in Fulham that day.

The section around Gallows Bridge is part of the river Brent, so is deeper than a standard canal would be.

This works perfectly if there were two perpetrators, in the scenario above the second person takes her car.

He’s not exactly going to mess around adjusting the drivers seat, just move it back and drive away.

That would explain how SJL’s car arrived so early in Stevenage Road. The quoted times for SJL leaving the Sturgis office have to be approximate because the office had no wall clock.

Unless someone was keeping a watch on her movements, they couldn’t possibly be certain exactly when she left.

I say this because there were few people in the office at that time, it’s just another Monday morning to them, and they were not asked to recall anything until the Tuesday.

Once an account goes into print (as in AS) it becomes gospel and set in stone.
There’s no reason SJL couldn’t have left the office at 12.30pm on Monday.

Going back to the scenario above, if the perpetrators followed SJL in a car, all they would need to do is pass her parked car so they were in front.

Then as she drives down Whittingstall Road pull out in front of her. She would likely get out to see what was wrong and then the abduction takes place.

Parts of Whittingstall Road are quiet and the swiftness of the actions would result in no witnesses.

Even if the Sturgis office had no wall clock, surely the staff (or some of them) wore wrist watches?

KR (the secretary) said she went to the bank at 12.30 and came back 5 minutes later.

When she returned, she said Suzy was on the phone and half-sitting on her desk as if about to leave. After the call Suzy then went to pick up the keys to 37 Shorrolds Road from the key board behind MG's desk, and then took the house details from a drawer. She was carrying her purse and a ring holding the keys of her car, the office and her flat. NH recalled that as she went out of the door she turned back to ask JC 'where did you say my car was?' and then she was gone. This would place the time around 12.40.

So we have NH, JC, KR and even possibly (although we don't know for sure) MG in the office to support this version of the time that Suzy left.

If it was a genuine appointment at SR she would have left at this time, but if it was something she had made up she would have left at 12.40 also as to make it look as if she was heading to SR, just to convince the office staff that she was keeping the 12.45 appointment.

Either way, 12.40 seems logical to me as the time Suzy left the office.
