Both.

She mentioned she was expecting money on Saturday at the 21st. Presumably the police bottomed out this wasn’t via a regular, work commission.

DV discovered via NH she’d lost a commission & they had a ‘big argument’ (Finding Suzy. DV P.85). They both had buyers for the same property & MG chose NH & his buyer over SL’s. This was on the morning she went missing.

It would be good to know how much she effectively lost & which property it was re: the latter.
Oh right, well that changes my view on things then.

Aby idea on what property that was?
No - a good question for DV to have asked. The Police were very thorough at checking out all the buyers & sellers on books & allocated considerable resources here.

If SL was in an ‘unusually good mood’ early on (SF via AS) did her loss here make her take a risk she’d been considering? A ‘ding dong’ (DV) and ‘big argument’ doesn’t square with a good mood. She was also seriously thinking about leaving Sturgis (AS) did this make any odds?

When PL interviewed he talks about the ‘business’ she was going into & how they were always unable to find the man behind it.

Maybe she was considering other options but realistically you are not going to arrange a meeting mid morning what with having to sort out her missing items,it seems like without a body we cannot get any further, lets hope karma comes round to those involved

Sl had lost her personal items and lost out on a commission
Did they ever forensically examine her workplace or hee eork colleagues cars?

How can the police at the time consider sf saying sl was in an unusually good mood after a row in the office in the morning, losing a commission and her belongings??
So all this went on and then there is absolutely no confirmation of sl being seen for sure anytime afterwards.

I think very first thing re: SF. If makes any odds (?)

Something I would have done is gone back through AS (with office staff etc, after initial interviews with them re: DV). May have helped jog memories. Perhaps he did. Apparently DV spoke to AS re: his investigation. Odd he didn’t mention AS at all in book (?) He did re: McGredy-Hunt.

I'm still fascinated by AS going out of his way to describe KH as a straightforwardly honest and truthful man, or words to that effect. Why not just call him a credible interviewee?

Because, IMO, he was about to say something (potentially) negative, so to counteract that, perhaps (?) Maybe he had his personal doubts? But who knows. He was party to material we are not, original statements etc. As you suggest, it rather jars, perhaps, this unusual praise. It’s interesting you noted it too. Not to cast aspersions on on CV/KH…

It’s interesting to see other points in the text where the edits might have been. Something unusually banal after something a bit more potentially salacious, a negative followed by an extreme positive. It feels almost as if a hint left in (?) It was a neutral, impartial take.

If one could get hold of a machine-readable text of the AS book it's the kind of thing an AI like Claude would be very good at spotting if set to it - inconsistent registers of character description, departures in tone...

Agree. There’s quite a bit that’s discernible from a close read too.
