The question about Clive Vole being bearded in 86 is important when related to Stevenage Road and the “James Galway” lookalike who hailed the cab.
Also, in DV’s book he says the drivers seat in Suzy’s car had been moved “all the way back”. This raises a couple of questions:
  1. Do we know that the seat was all the way back as a fact?
  2. How tall is Clive Vole?
Essentially does the seat position fit his height?

That cab dropped the 'James Galway' man off on the North End Road.

Handy to take a tube back accross the river to Putney?

In his book Videcette describes Clive as 'a short, stout man' so he only seems to be of average height.

Boyfriend Adam of course is over six feet tall.

Detectives said there were no unaccounted for fingerprints in the car when they tested it.

As Suzy drove the fiesta on evenings and weekends, you'd expect her boyfriend's prints to be found in the car interior.

If Adam drove the car that day, he could be confident that the precense of his prints could be easily explained...

Who was his cast-iron alibi that afternoon ?
I must admit his story of events sound odd.
But then why is David Videcette so sure it’s the acting landlord ? Especially as he’s short in height.
And talking of the pub,Do you think Suzy’s remains are there or do you think David has changed location? Obviously with him saying where they are people could go and investigate hampering all the vital forensics.

It would be good to know what Adam's 'cast-iron alibi' was on the day Suzy disappeared. And his surprising change of story about the Friday night and how he says now that he and Suzy never went to the PoW pub ever, also that Suzy losing her things over the weekend apparently 'never happened'. Then of course storming out of the interview with DV saying 'you'll never find Suzy' - all very strange.

Out of all the interviews DV did in the book, Adam's is undoubtedly the oddest and most uncomfortable of them all.

Say you were the acting landlord. And for whatever reason, Suzy Lamplugh is lying deceased in the cellar. The landlord and his wife are away for a few days, so you have some time.

What would you do? Bury the body in a recess off the cellar? Bury on the railway embankment covered by tress etc at the back of the pub? Attempt to transport elsewhere?

I know which one I'd go for....

You know my opinion, easy option is the Network Rail wasteland at the back of the pub, hardly ever likely to be searched.

Another thing about the acting landlord is that if he was responsible for whatever happened to Suzy that day is why drive her car back to Fulham? Surely the last thing he would want is for him to be seen in Suzi's car so why park it in Stevenage Road not far from Suzy's workplace - that doesn't make sense. You would think he would want to drive it as far away from Fulham & Putney as possible.

Isn't it more reasonable to assume that whoever left the car in Stevenage Road wouldn't have been too worried about being seen driving it as it was something they had done before?

Good thinking.

I think he may have driven it 'around the corner' intent on leaving it outside her house in Disraeli Rd.

Maybe he got spooked and just took it then over Putney Bridge then, taking first left to abandon it beside Fulham Fc / Fulham area. A real slice of good fortune then spotting the Sturgis For Sale sign.

The police were understandably thinking Suzy may have been doing a second house showing at that Stevenage Rd house that was on Sturgis books. The one for sale facing where her fiesta was found.

If there, that spot may well be untouched in 35 years ...

I don't think he knew where Suzy lived, didn't either he or the regular landlord say that's why they phoned the bank on the Monday morning because there was no address on the cheque book?

I can understand why the police may have initially thought that Suzy could have been doing a second viewing due to the house for sale in Stevenage Road. What I don't understand though is on the Tuesday morning the police got into the Shorrolds Road address as someone at Sturgis had discovered the keys were still in the office, which means that Suzy couldn't have viewed the house the day before. The big puzzle here is that the police didn't make this public knowledge, continuing with the narrative that Suzy's keys were missing. Why would they do this?

An oversight imo.

They had Suzy's chequebook, diary and a postcard posted to her.

The postcard would have had her Disraeli Rd address on it.

True. Including putting the seat further back?

Is that confirmed it was a postcard posted to her? Otherwise it could be a postcard she wrote to someone or a blank postcard.

The postcard may have been sent to Sturgis...

Who had Suzy's chequebook, diary & postcard and posted it to her? In DV's book acting landlord 'Clive' said that he handed the items to the police on the Monday or the Tuesday (he couldn't remember which day it was).

If the postcard had Suzy's name & address on it why did the landlord phone the bank to see who the chequebook belonged to?
