God help them if they are not wearing a suitI wonder if Vance will yell at them like he did when Zelenskyy visited last year?

I think this clothing designer, who at one time designed a poncho for the Danish queen, has good instincts. The US government is interested in the territory, and not only for national security. He is not interested in the people and their culture.
"Mia Chemnitz lives in the snow-capped capital, Nuuk. She says she found Trump's remarks difficult to listen to. "For me, Greenland is a country with its own culture, where nature is central. I only hear Trump talk about Greenland as a territory. He's not concerned with the inhabitants," she says.
...
"If Trump is concerned about security, we can simply deploy NATO troops here. But I fear that Trump is not only concerned about national security."

NATO is debating a new missions: Arctic Sentry, which could be launched within weeks. It would address all United States security concerns because NATO's 32 countries, including the united states, would protect the region. The United States plan is for one country to protect the region.ABSOLUTELY
He should be supporting NATO financially and politically to station NATO troops in Greenland for security.
Does Home Depot or Lowes carry that? The “Golden Dome.” Huh.
They should call the mission “Arctic Sanity,” because that’s a rare commodity in Washington D.C. these days. JMONATO is debating a new missions: Arctic Sentry, which could be launched within weeks. The United States plan is for one country to protect the region.
The United States cannot argue that security provided by one country is better than security provided by 32 countries. If the US refuses to cooperate with 31 other countries, and chooses aggression and military force, then the United States government has to admit to everyone that they will wage war to steal land. I hope that is enough to wake up the United States government!
"NATO is seeking a way out of the crisis sparked by threatening US remarks against its ally Denmark.

Virtually all countries want a greater role for the alliance in the Arctic. Several members suggested a new NATO mission in the area. This would significantly boost the defense of the Arctic. And above all, it would be a joint effort, including the United States, which would at least temporarily ease the worst of the tension.
...
To launch such a mission, all 32 allies need the green light. Prime Minister Mark Rutte must first determine whether Trump is in favor of a joint NATO mission, which could be called the "Arctic Sentry." Two similar missions have already been launched in recent years: the " Baltic Sentry" in the Baltic Sea and the " Eastern Sentry " on NATO's eastern border.
The Arctic Sentry could be launched within weeks, and that would help repair at least some of the damage to the alliance's credibility, they hope. The military alliance owes its credibility and deterrent effect to the unity and solidarity among its allies."

NAVO overweegt Groenlandmissie om crisis te bezweren
Het bondgenootschap zwijgt in alle talen over de ontstane problemen. Maar achter de schermen wordt hard gewerkt aan oplossingen, melden diplomaten.nos.nl
~ in my humble opinion ~
Maybe Amazon.Does Home Depot or Lowes carry that?

I couldn’t agree more.I do not think this government care about how it is perceived in the world.
At this point, I am afraid, the only cure for the NATO is to extricate the USofA from it. The USofA became a threat and they are very unwilling to see anything else but very warped American interest. We, European part of the NATO need to start relying on each other and work together to make Europe more stable and safer. IMO, of course.
They can't. NATO is anchored by us and would lose all power if they booted us. This whole situation is insane. There has been no real talk of Greenland as a potential security threat until now. Everyone knows this is really about natural resources.I do not think this government care about how it is perceived in the world.

That appears to be happening via the Coalition of the Willing. These countries are aligned to defend Ukraine, and it seems likely they will be similarly aligned to defend Greenland and Denmark.I do not think this government care about how it is perceived in the world.

NATO consists of 32 members, modern, well developed countries of Europe and Northern America. The US are but one of them. Right now the US, IMO spiralling right into totalitarian dictature and economical insanity, is not an anchor. It's, IMO, the balast that drags NATO down and disables it's functioning. Russia is a danger to multiple NATO members, yet NATO can't do much, being blocked in it's initiatives by the US. That is not being anchor, that's putting stick into wheel. IMO, of course. They can't. NATO is anchored by us and would lose all power if they booted us.
Ireland is in the western hemisphere. Does that put us under US 'control'?Trump has explained that he needs Greenland to help defend the western hemisphere, which is under US control according to the "Donroe Doctrine".Using his logic then, doesn't Russia have claim to the part of Alaska that is in the eastern hemisphere?
Off topic, but I’ve been to your beautiful country (some of my ancestors were Irish) and I wouldn’t want US control there either. MOOIreland is in the western hemisphere. Does that put us under US 'control'?
No thanks.
