Stephen Miller said on Monday night that the annexation of Greenland was now established US policy.
“The United States should have Greenland as part of the United States,” he said.
“There’s no need to even think or talk about this in the context that you’re asking, of a military operation. Nobody’s going to fight the United States militarily over the future of Greenland.”

Who will fight for Greenland?
Annexing the territory is now US policy, says White House deputy chief of staffwww.irishtimes.com
Something tells me this has been in the works for a while now. Likely since the beginning of his second term. CIA operatives were in Greenland since as early as May of 2025. I fear they have calculated the risks and decided that they can and will occupy Greenland. It has already been decided. I remember reading about there being there being word of American intelligence operatives in Greenland in spring/summer of last year.
I feel that was a recognizance mission and that the mission was to gather intelligence and then took that time to strategize and weigh out their options. Something tells me this already been decided and now they are looking at various options/ways to justify. Options that will have the least blowback.
Option 1: Use Operatives/Intelligence Agencies to boost Greenland's Independence Movement
It has been widely reported that ‘external forces’ are trying to influence the specifically the indigenous communities there.

Auf 2025 - US tells Denmark to ‘Calm Down’ over alleged Greenland influence operation
Denmark's public broadcaster DR quoted sources as saying the aim was to infiltrate society and promote its secession from Denmark to the US, although it was unable to clarify who the men were working for.
A White House official would not confirm an influence campaign was underway, but said: "We think the Danes need to calm down."
Option 2. Bigger Bully Defense
We are seeing this tactic is also being used. Stating Greenland needs to be under American rule to protect it from Russia. We know this doesn’t work because there are American bases there already, and they essentially are allowed full access to the country when it comes to defense anyways.
Trump says his Greenland fixation is about national security. Europeans are skeptical.
“The option of more U.S. military presence has been on the table,” said one of the people, a European defense official. “The White House is not interested.”
most of what Trump says he wants out of Greenland — access to investment resources like critical minerals, more troops and military bases, better intelligence sharing — could be easily accomplished by negotiating directly with Denmark, a steadfast ally.
“The problem is that Trump has gotten into his head that the ‘Donroe Doctrine’ is his thing,” the second person said. “He’s now very focused on this. And it’s hard to come to an agreement with the Danes when Trump thinks he can just take it.”
3. Use of Military Force
This is the last option on the table. The one they don’t want to necessarily use but will if forced to. If they can’t force their will upon others they will use military force instead.
Trump aide Miller says no one would fight US over future of Greenland
My personal concern is that the EU will roll over and allow this to happen. Unfortunately, I don't have faith that anyone will stop him.One of US President Donald Trump's senior aides has ramped up Washington's threat to take over Greenland, stating on Monday that no one would militarily challenge the United States over the future of the autonomous Danish territory.
