UT UT - Alisa Petrov,15, from So Jordan, left school in American Fork, took UTA train to Provo, asked multiple for help to get to Las Vegas, 21 Apr 2025

So with Menard in jail, does this mean there is another creep?

MOO my gut says that none of the three creeps in custody are responsible for Alisa's disappearance. I think one or all helped fuel the running away idea but then i think she came across another even creepier creep on her way to/in LV and her path ended there. That said, I'm still hoping for a miracle.

I agree, TexLil.

These three creeps are incurable, sex pests to teenage girls. Glines probably the worst, but Menard was the smoothie that had the smarts and the finances to plant a dream of running away to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Miami - away from what she was trying to escape from.

The local guy is bothersome that he could realistically have met her.

But I think her disappearance is due to some other perp that LE hasn't yet named.

Utah reporter, Brian Schnee, just provided these updates on the three creeps' cases including one initial appearance scheduled for June 2.

1. Matthew Menard (Miami, Florida) has a scheduled initial appearance in front of a Utah judge on June 2 related to his exploitation/enticement charges involving missing 15-year-old Alisa Petrov. Still no reply from Menard's attorneys Collins Rupp, P.C. he retained here in Utah.

2. Samuel Mitchell (Herriman, Utah) had his case filed in the Utah court system today (5/30). No initial appearance set.
Some notes in Mitchell's indictment:
- Defendant is a substantial danger to other people in the community, specifically CV1, CV2, and to children under the age of eighteen (18) years.
- Defendant, over the course of several months, corresponded with CV1 and CV2 for the purpose of soliciting sex and/or CSAM from two minor children.
- Defendant discussed in detail his intent to sexually abuse CV1.

3. No movement on William Glines' charges, who's still booked in a county jail in Texas.

Wow LE doing a fantastic job here. MOO.

Per tweet above from UT reporter, Mitchell had at least one other victim (not surprising but sad) and that information is being included in this case to hopefully (MOO) increase likelihood of conviction and stronger punishment.

. . . honestly, how does the mind become so sick? these three creeps need to stay right where they are ... for a very, very long time. Where are you Alisa? This is not your fault ... your only responsibility is to contact your parents, or the police and you will be provided with all the help you need to heal and recover, bless you ... MOO

I really don’t want to think this, but has anyone seen her social media where she says she loves her parents and gives date she ran away? Does it seem like a sui**de note?

I don't feel like this is what happened. From her conversations, it seems like she was trying to find someone to "runaway" with. Knowing she was going to need funding, she chose males older than her (more likely to have a car and a job).

She either found someone and then cut ties with the others, or she figured it was better to "go it alone" because what was being requested of her wasn't worth the company.

As an aside, if I'm investigating this case, I'm pulling data from cell towers that cover both her school and the train station in Provo. We know she was at both, and the number of people being connected to both at the times we know she was there has to be, what, 1?

Once I have her number, I'm getting a warrant to get texts and location data for that number. I'm pinging the hell out of that thing.

I'm sure police have already done this and are just waiting for the results of their warrant to come back. Give it another month and we should have some pretty good news coming out.

Meanwhile, Petrov’s parents are concerned mainly with another man arrested in the case, Matthew Menard, 35, of Florida.

*****
Petrov’s father, Nikolai Petrov, expressed growing concerns about Menard, who turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday.

“The Florida guy probably did significantly worse because he was actually telling her how to hide, and we still haven’t found her,” Nikolai Petrov said.

“Police tried to talk to him and ask if he knew where Alisa was, but I don’t think he told them. So we don’t even know if he met her or if he didn’t meet her,” Nikolai Petrov said.

I find it particularly concerning that this man lived just up the road from her and I wonder if they ever met up. They could have easily done so and him suddenly cancelling because he got "sick" seems suspicious to me. It feels more like a way to cover his tracks

Personally, I see that they accumulate CSAM materials. The predators didn’t know each other, but could they have exchanged information about kids online? Could others be involved? Someone is, as she has not appeared.

"When I first heard that they found the guy in Utah based on the warrants that I saw it seems like he was not as bad as the Florida guy who was basically telling Alisa how to runaway and how to hide, which is obviously the biggest problem we have right now, because if she was not hiding she would probably already be found," said Nikolai Petrov.

He is encouraging members of the public to share information about Alisa in the hopes that somebody sees and recognizes her.

Disappearance of Alisa Petrov remains a mystery even after 3 arrests, parents say

Petrov added that Menard has retained legal counsel in Utah and may have been advised not to answer certain questions.

Is this a trafficking ring? I’m having a difficult time deciphering what’s going on in this case.

I have a feeling that exchanging CSAM might be within a ring. Remember Pelicot’s online group, “without her knowledge” or such where they’d take sexually explicit photos of women and post them somewhere? So the perps may not be connected, but exchange photos and information and then more men would approach her online. Eventually, she might have crossed paths with the member of a ring.

I wonder if there are other gadgets she used? At her friends’ houses? School library? Siblings’ ones? Did she visit a local library and use a computer there? Mom may know. Any extracurricular activities where she had access to a browser could be used. I have a feeling that the old iPad was not the only “window” into that world. She could have taken something with her that parents are not accounting for. An old Kindle device that has a browser?

There should be some other traces. I can’t recommend any specific YouTubes about the case but the ones easily going are good. It is strange that Menard guided her where to stay. What if…she starts calling looking for a room and hits a trafficker, you know? There is some strange planning in his actions.

While this guy in UT is closer, I wonder if Menard is more involved.

The first one in Texas could easily sell her phone or SM handles online, too.

There’s something deeply disturbing about this case. Every day I hope for good news on Alisa.

What is disturbing to me is that it happened in a safe town, with a decent school system and parents who seem to be established in life. South Jordan is precisely the place one would settle in to raise kids in a safe environment, you know?

And Alisa doesn’t give the vibes of an extremely troubled child. I wonder if she was sleepless because she was probably browsing at night (my thinking: there likely were iPhones in the house. Once iPad is charged, it should be visible on Find My. Find My is an app that is used. The fact that parents didn’t see the iPad means Alisa was probably using it at night). Some of her photos indicate sleeping issues. So maybe chronic lack of sleep caused some mood changes and impulsivity?

Third 'pedo' grilled by cops over missing Alisa, 15: Depraved messages Third 'pedo' grilled by cops over missing Alisa, 15: Depraved messages

Alisa asked Mitchell to 'kidnap' her while she was on a family ski trip, and revealed she was running away from home two days before she went missing.

'IM RUNNING AWAY, please don't contact me,' she wrote at 12.34am on April 19, the search warrant alleged.

I'm sharing this article again because this section caught my attention. She's online during their holiday at 12.34 in the morning.
What device is she using, what Internet.?
Either her parents were not as strict as we are led to believe or she's very resourceful.

Detailed timeline and links to affidavits

Thank you very much.

What concerned me in Menard’s affidavit:

- he mentioned that when they are in LV, he could hire a hooker and “you can ask her all your questions”. Makes me immediately wonder if A. already has specific questions, you know? So during all these sextings, someone might have given her some ideas…or is it all online now? What and how to use?

Let’s assume that a slightly naive, friendly and outgoing girl wants to run away from home and be independent, but she is 15. She needs the place and the money, right?

During all these months the poor kid’s mind has been totally messed up with. I wonder if there is an app behind which she can hide a Venmo or cash app. I know Kik was used for kids who participated in CSAM before and I hope it is monitored. But is there a chance that Alisa has more money now? The parents know she has some cash, but she could be using cash not to leave a trace. Her dad said she switched off the phone. It can’t prevent any adult from giving her another one.

Her parents might be living through horror. Wishing them to find Alisa.
