I imagine that once the press find his social media profiles (because I'd bet money he has several) we'll find out a lot more
SBM. His SM profiles have probably been taken down. It's quite usual in similar cases.

“I love how Mormons send missionaries around the world, I love how polite they are. … Half my team is Mormon,” he said, to huge cheers from the Utah crowd.
“Mormons are great people. Let me just say, I’m an evangelical Christian, but I’m not one of those guys that hates on Mormons,” he added.
Kirk’s words came just minutes before he was shot and killed — allegedly by Robinson, whose neighbor said he attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in St. George, Utah.

Assigning political motives without his own words, a manifesto, or anything else reliable is disrespectful to the process of justice.
It is based on comments from his own family I believe now that supposedly the suspect disliked and disagreed with Charlie Kirk.

In social media posts from Robinson's family obtained by Daily Mail, Robinson was seen enjoying guns throughout his childhood and appeared to frequently attend shooting ranges.

in one image from when Robinson appeared to be a teenager, he was seen posing with an M2 Browning 50. calibre machine gun, another showed him posing with a scoped rifle. In another, he was holding a bazooka.

Facebook posts from his mother showed Robinson and his two younger brothers at gun ranges and military events, both registered Republicans. In one post from Amber Robinson, she was seen proudly holding a US-army machine gun.

At Christmas in 2017, he was seen holding a new iPhone and his brother held a 'build it yourself' rifle kit, as his family wore matching red outfits.

Dad turned in his son knowing he'll get the death penalty. Cold as ice, damn.
he was put in a really untenable position and it seems, with the help of the youth pastor, he did the best he could. that is a kind of situation that could drive you mad, IMHO.

You took the words right out of my mouth. To make further assumptions about identity, political leanings, etc., is incendiary. MOO.
Sadly today there seems to be a need to put adjectives to every topis based on race, identity or politics. The topic can't just be the topic. IMO, we today are overstimulated by opinion and or bias. News it not news. It's opinions.

Very hard choice. Going old school where the parent is holding his child accountable for his act instead of denying and making excuses (thinking of Gabby Petito's killer's parents who aided their son after her murder) - heartbreaking for that father.

He maybe felt he had a duty to LE as many are his colleagues, friends and maybe other family of his has history of LE.

Naturally, most parents love their children even more than their careers.

That said, here is a man who was LE longer than TR has been alive.

It’s possible he has a mindset that has long been ingrained with a sense of right and wrong, as well as upholding the law.

Also, even though his son is an adult, IMO this act of turning him in after contacting a religious figure is actually an act of love for his son.

Maybe he sees his son as being better off facing harsh consequences rather than just wagging his finger and calling him a “naughty boy.” Maybe he doesn’t want his son to be a fugitive for the rest of his life. Maybe they have fear that he could enact violence on the family in the future. Maybe they feared he could become suicidal.

I would wish if this happened in my family that I would have this courage and stay true to my principles. I’m not sure if I would or not.

What else could he do??? If his son had no respect what was to put his family through, the father had to. He is LE. Was he supposed to harbor him????

I can't help but wonder if part of it is that he saw the reaction Luigi Mangione got online, and thought killing a similarly divisive figure in a similar manner (complete with slogans on the bullet casings) would get him the same attention.

Or as you say, it could just be that he wanted to kill someone well-known and Kirk just happened to be holding an outdoor event within driving distance.

I imagine that once the press find his social media profiles (because I'd bet money he has several) we'll find out a lot more
Well the inscribed rounds certainly seems he got that from Luigi, right?

My work day is kicking me upside the head, so I probably won't be around this afternoon, but I just wanted to say that the New York Times has now folded the commentary about the engraving on the bullets into its reportage.

It's a sad, sad day for civilization IMO.
Sell more papers that way.

That could be said by many in this very discussion, But I doubt any of them believe in assassination over ideals, values or politics (or for any purpose). JMO

We aren't radicalized the same way TR and Luigi are. Something happened to make them that way.

We learned pretty quickly what radicalized Mangioni. I feel we will get a similar narrative about Tyler Robinson.

It was Robinson's father who ultimately turned his son into law enforcement.

The 22-year-old reportedly told his dad that he would rather kill himself than turn himself in, but was persuaded to speak with a local youth minister, who also works with the U.S. Marshals Service.

Cox said Friday that a family member of Robinson's 'reached out to a family friend who contacted the Washington County Sheriff's Office with information that Robinson had confessed to them or implied that he had committed the incident'.

He was taken into custody Thursday night.

Replying to nuttmegg, kuromiiilove, and jw192 ( all their previous excellent posts). ~

Agreeing with all of you......

There is no coherent idealogy to Robinson.

He's just hoping to impress his pals on Discord the next day.

Whether it was Crooks (attempted assassination), Mangione (assassination) , or Robinson now. .....

They are well-educated, intelligent, middle-class or upper-middle class young men. They all had parents who taught them morals.

However, ....these young men are EXTREMELY entitled.

Whatever they are thinking at the moment......... is just AN EXCUSE TO KILL.

They just want to show-off that they CAN kill. And do it in a spectacular way.

It is sickening.

I think you've hit the nail on the head tbh. These types have (to me as an onlooker, at least) completely incomprehensible politics because they don't really have a stable worldview, they just go with whatever works for them personally in the moment

Or Robin Westman who recently shot up a church and scribbled a load of incoherent random meme and internet rubbish all over the weapons, ammo etc...

Agree. A complete lack of principles.

Not cold as Ice... Moral duty. A murderer deserves no sympathy not even from a parent.
Whoa...

It is possible to have immense sympathy and compassion for someone, yet still want them to do the right thing.

Especially as a parent, the unconditional love for your child should mean wanting them to grow into a better person, neither hating them because they are imperfect, nor indulging them in their harmful behaviour.
